[Q] Metal noise from speaker - Venue Pro General

Hi,
I have metal noise from my top speaker, when I talking with someone.
Something similar to the vibration of the metal. Maybe it is grill.
Have someone similar problem? Device DVP 8Gb.

I've the same problem, DVP 16gb.
I hear the voice of my speaker with metal noise.

My ear piece speaker died and I took it open to replace it. I don't remember it having a significant enough of a metal grill in front of it (to cause vibrations?). I actually just remember a thin fabric covering the speaker (glued to the front glass). If your speaker is toasted though, it's not hard to replace that sucka. The generic speaker itself is only like a dollar off the bay. Here's an image of the speaker:

I actually notice the speaker volume and clarity improving after the replacement but that could be just me...

Back cover loose?

I'm getting a creaking sound on the bottom left corner near the usb port if i push on it?
Anyone else has this or something else similar?
Same here - just discovered a couple days ago. Think is pretty minor small gap between the screen and the case - plastic must be super thin and it just bends a little making the sound. Wouldn't return it because you could get something even worse - dead pixels or stuck pixels - alignment issues - etc. They should have made the frame out of metal to elimate any flex.
As soon as a decent case is finally available for the TMOBILE version it will mask it.

I have the opposite problem. Well, maybe I shouldn't call it a problem because I would rather have it tight then loose. My back cover is on so tight I end up tearing my thumb up trying to remove it. It is to the point where I avoid removing the cover at all costs. No play at all, just tight as heck.
I noticed the more you remove it the looser it gets so maybe try doing that a couple of times.

The USA version isn't metal? mine (europe) is only metal and glass... well except for the harware buttons, they are plastic.
is it also true that the bottom is thicker than the euro version? where the USB port is, i looked at some photos, and it looks much thicker..
Only the battery cover is metal, everything else is not, feels like rubber i guess and i wouldn't say its thicker if it is not by much the phone is extremely thin.

It's metal coated in rubber - at least that what it feels like. When I get my replacement phone I'll scratch a little of the rubber off mine and see what's under it.

Great, post it here please when you get it
mine made a creaking noise down at the bottom, pretty much dead center, like the plastic (?) cover was a tiny bit loose. my guess is it would only get worse over time...only a guess though

I just recently noticed the noise on my bottom right side.

Where is the Mic?

I cannot for the life of me find any little mic holes on this thing. Anyone find any, did they use the reset hole to house the mic in?
Hold it in landscape and in the middle top part of the glass there is a small slit where the glass meets the bezel. There's ur mic.

Wouldn't that be funny if people are reporting low mic volume because they have their thumb over the mic.

Thanks, but I just do not see it, even with my glasses on
it's there - very small slit about 5mm long or less.
Have you applied a screen protector? If so then it may be covering the hole - I didn't even know the mic was there but luckily my screen protector isn't blocking it
Mic
Picked up the Acer tab cover at Staples on Wed. It has a small round opening for the Mic on the upper bezel directly below the space between the volume rocker and the screen lock. If you look close you can spot the small grill cover.
the small gap is there look carefully...Julz is right
I think I found it. Is it located UNDER the glass by the lock rotation switch. Or is that the light sensor?

That's the light sensor. If you've got the Acer case, it's directly underneath the Velco circle on the case. :/

There are actually 2 mics on the Acer... Check inside the SD-cover too, in the lower corner theres a little circle, I believe that's the echo-cancel mic. I believe that mic subtracts output from the speaker from the main mic's signal. Could be wrong about that - but we definitely have 2 mics on the unit.
Sad, just sad. Old man can't find the hole. Maybe you should ask the wife.

I understand that is the light sensor.

You dirty, dirty camera

So here's one of the few pet peeves I have about the Aria. The camera lens is recessed in the case, and it collects dust. My mother has the same phone (got hers a year before me), and she always complained that the pictures were not sharp. I looked at the phone, and the lens had picked up a significant amount of lint and dust from being in her pocket. Is there any way to prevent this? Perhaps a case that covers that area with a clear panel? I might just slap a bit of screen protector over the area. Of course, it's easy to clean it off with a qtip, but i'd rather avoid the problem alltogether.
Get a microfiber cloth and place it over the camera hole, then get a pencil and use the tip to push on the hole and clear the lense
Signatures are fancy.
Qtips work for me.they fit perfect.
As far as prevention goes ,I have no clue.seems like you would have distortion from a piece of screen protector or similar. Give it a try who knows.

One of my very few peeves with this phone. The only practical remedy I've found for it is to get a holster for the phone. Its still convenient for spur of the moment pics and its safer than your pocket anyways. Also, I work in construction and it gets really bad with dust and dirt at work so what I do is I have a piece of duct tape stuck to the inside back of a silicone case I only use for work. I don't use the camera or speaker at work so it works.
Sent from my cm7 Aria.
This is also my only issue with the phone. I usually use a Q-Tip, but that's if I'm at home really. On the road all of my pictures have a "haze" to them.
The same problem here. I need to keep cleaning the lens out with a bud or microfiber cloth. Pictures get all hazy otherwise.
That and the speaker crackles at max volume.. my only two complaints about this lovely device.
Same boat here. The speaker crackling is most annoying. I use a Q-tip for the lens.
Q-tip. Works great. You can also flip the silicone case to cover the lens and switch it when you need to.

yea the speakers arent the best. I work at a sheet metal fab shop, so alway's getting lazer dust around the speaker, and it does crackle at high volume,
you can pick up replacement speakers for about $14.99
Code:
http://www.repairsuniverse.com/htc-aria-screen-replacement-and-parts.html
got my screen from there. quality parts.
yea there really isnt anything that can PREVENT dust from the camera screen. just keep some q tips in your car ( thats what i do there cheap enough ) and some cleaning solution. ive found that my wifes eye contact solution works good with a qtip.
find maybe a snap on case, or something, that helps keep it out of your pockets.
Try this
I have made some little foam stoppers to push into the hole to keep the dust out. I took a thin (about 1/4") sheet of foam that was used as packing for electronic components, and then used a one hole paper punch to punch out the stoppers. They stay in pretty well, but they're kind of hard to get back out. I can remove it with my fingernail, but not very quickly. Those with long nails might fair better.

[Q] Too small rear speaker hole?

Anyone else notice that the rear speaker under the back plate of the note 4 is substantially bigger than the hole in the back plate?
Anyone try to enlarge the hole to see if it improved the quality or loudness of the rear speaker?
You can try just testing with the cover off. I can't tell any difference, but my ears are more than a little out of warranty.
That was made for designing purpose and should not affect the sound quality.

[GUIDE] Repair torn earpiece speaker membrane

This may be of very limited use but I believe I'm far from the only one still using this device and the torn speaker membrane is very common.
Prerequisites:
Moto G3 with torn speaker membrane, preferably in need of replacement screen
Donor Moto G3
Standard tools for disassembly (see iFixit etc. for reaching the point where you have the screen removed)
As this requires removing the LCD it's hardly worth doing unless you have a cracked screen that needs replacing. In my case I had a device with various issues, bought another device with a broken screen but otherwise functioning, and simply swapped screens. You can get spares & repairs Moto G3s for very little (<£15/$15).
Ideally your donor screen doesn't have a torn membrane. If it does, as in my case, you can do the following to repair it:
The entire grille/ membrane is stuck to the glass from the inside.
Carefully run a sharp knife underneath the hard silver plastic and lever it out.
The plastic membrane is actually 2 sheets. Use a knife, fingernail, tweezers etc. starting at the edge to peel the first layer away: it is a thin tranparent plastic sheet surrounding the hole. You don't need to worry about removing cleanly, you won't need these any more.
Then do the same on the grey membrane, which is thicker and held on more securely, requiring more force to remove.
Now remove the entire bottom main speaker grille part from the your broken screen (i.e. whichever screen you'll no longer be using)
This simply has some sort of material mesh-like grille which can be peeled off carefully.
Once removed, align the edge of the material with your earpiece speaker piece and stick on. The mesh is longer so you have to trim the end off with scissors.
You now have a new earpiece speaker grille, with a cloth-like membrane like the main speaker grille, rather than the original plastic membrane.
This can now be replaced as the glue should still hold.
Hope this helps somebody despite being a rather convoluted process. Waterproofing not tested yet! And note the battery light is not diffused as before so appears brighter.
Great write up and thanks for taking the time to post
Nice one even I tore but no issues facing on speaker
Do u have any image or video on doing this !!

I could add some pics of the parts if that would help? Didn't think to take pics during the process unfortunately
