i was trying this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1625395 and it didnt work but i forgot to backup my old settings.apk and now i cant access settings at all there is no icon for it
can someone plz give the stock setting.apk file and the procedure to install it thanks

no no no, you move the setting.apk to system/here then you can change permission after that you move to the system/app then reboot your phone

Did you fix the permissions correctly?
Use root explorer ..copy to system/app...click Mount R/f and set the permissions to rw-r-r restart the phone..

original setting.apk is an odexed app. you'll need setting.odex too.

probably cause your system hasn't been root
use these file root first and save file root.zip on SDcard root (not in a folder) then flash via stock recovery

My system has root, when I go to open the apk to install appears "error analysis".
use root explorer to put the apk file to system \ app and then change his permission to rw-r-r

like i said , it's only for devices supporting ics or plus .. i tried to push it to /system/app and setting permissions are rwrr and rebooted . crossed my fingers . and there was no change . i try to install it , it says problem parsing the package . pls help . . . . . trebuchet would be the best thing on our galaxy y device . . . . . please help :crying: and thanks :good:

Trebuchet is for 4.0+ not for 2.3 ..... ...

WORKING NOW! :victory:
Installation process :
1. go to recovery
2.go to flash zip from sd card
3.select BE3.zip

Picture and Video Quality Improves if Bravia Engine is Working Properly, But it is Hard to Find any differences on Non Xperia Devices.

Bravia engine is graphic tweaks which improves graphics/images quality...there's slight difference in quality...if u want better image quality..u should flash this mod if u want..

Just move it to system/priv-app using ESfilemanager or any filemanager and dont forget to set permission rwrr. Make sure you have ROOT access. and restart your phone.

I think that your data.bin file is not correct...
Can you explain me how you have created it...?

For Oreo 8.0 >>There is already your old message folder in System/priv named as Messaging_Common_5.0
Paste the apk there and rename the apk and folder to Messaging_Common_10.0
Set rwrr permission and reboot..

android oreo normal is messaging_sep81
S9 normal is Messaging_Common_5.0 (S8 work)
android pie Messaging_Common_10.0 (S8 work)
you don't rename the name can work
youl ike use messaging_sep81 or other name can work
the true name is inside the app
my english is bad
in magisk there is a option to patch boot image. and can root it that way. go to the magisk page and look. sorry i cant pull the link up at this time. ive used this on a Chinese phone and it worked good.
