CAN ANYBODY HELP ME PLEASE? PHONE STUCK AT RED M LOGO.
While being on Maniac's 25/04 build I decided to run V6 Supercharger. After I tried to run it got a message that it didn't have superuser rights although I pressed alow. The system got slow and I decided to reboot. It got hanging at the red M logo for a few min. Tried with Vol+- and power and after the blue and green lights it keep hanging on the red M logo. I decided to reflash the nightly but when I pres power button at the blue light I don't get to the CWM menu. Tried it 3 times without any effect. Funny thing is that I can still charge the phone. Does anyone have a idea what to do and spare me starting everything from the beginning? Any help is deeply appreciated!!!

can you boot into the recovery menu and wipe the caches and things??
hold volume down then the power button and this should get you into the stock recovery but you can still do a factory reset in there by doing a data wipe then clear cache and dalvik cache.
Not sure this will work and it will wipe all your data and apps but it may recover the system and make it boot.
Edit: maybe just try to wipe the cache first before doing factory reset, This will keep all your apps and data.

Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately wiping cache on stock recovery didn't help, and if I do a factory reset I'll wipe out everything including 2nd init and cwm. It looks like I have to start with RSD and Froyo again.

yeah it sucks loosing all the apps and setting everything back up again but sometimes it has to be done.
I done it alot before I fully knew what I was doing. Flashing roms and RSD with the wrong kernels and all was frustrating to say the least

You get to CWM with VOL DOWN! And you should make a wipe cache /dalwik from CWM, not stock recovery as you did... You can try make a wipe cache, wipe dalwik cache from CWM, but maybe CWM got corrupted because of wipe cache you did from stock recovery...
If so, you you should make a factory reset from stock recovery, and start again with superoneclick, 2ndinit, CWM... Etc
If you flash custom roms you can forget stock recovery, everything is done from CWM! I've not seen my stock recovery for half year, flashing custom roms from CWM...
Good luck!

[Q] When someones says "wipe memory/reset"

When it's mentioned to wipe memory/factory reset before loading ROM is this the procedure they are referring to?
Thanks -
no.
Since you have to flash the rom from Clockwork Recovery, you will want to do the wipe from there also.
In Clockwork Recovery, you would scroll down and choose "Wipe Data/Factory Reset".
No. Just no
U can also wipedata/factory reset via stock recovery... This is incase u bootloop, somtimes wiping data from stock recov will fix this when wiping from cwm wont...
Boot into stock recovery by turningoff phone (or pulling batt if in bootloop), turn on phone by holding home+power, when android and ! Come up hit search button, select wipe data/factory reset, reboot phone... This method will also get rid of rom fragments left behind

First go into stock recovery and wipe data/factory reset then wipe cache. Go strait into flash mode and flash the 2.2 sbf.
Yep this has happened to me a few times, if you don't know how... reboot while holding down the power and volume down buttons until you see the little android symbol, then press both volume buttons, a menu will open. from there you'll have to do a factory reset. Your still not done... once the wipe is finished youll have to boot again into the boot loader by holding the power and volume up key. from there you'll need to flash the 2.2 sbf with RSD lite.

I flashed with RSD Lite but didnt wipe data/factory reset, and wiped it and everything its fine!
ohh so if i wipe the data and cache then flash the stock sbf, miui will work?

No, all this will do is flash you back to stock android 2.2, MIUI will be erased.
basically you'll have to start all over again with the flashing process.
Make sure that you follow rdannar's instructions EXACTLY when flashing the rom...
I'm assuming your using his latest MIUI rom.

[Q] Defy got boot loop installing CM7

Guys, I desperately need help. I followed this guide to install CM7.1 nightly into my Defy and at the end I got the CM7 logo loop. Based on the guide, I took out the battery and put it back and now it's stuck at the small "Google" logo. I took out the battery again and went to the system recovery to wipe cache/factory reset. I got bunch of "mount" cache errors (command, log). I then went to the custom recovery and did the wipe cache again, this time beside "mount" cache error, there were some "open" cache errors. I did the wipe one more time and all of these errors gone. Booted it up again, and it still stuck at the "Google" screen so I went into the custom recovery trying to wipe dalvik cache as the guide said. I selected that option but nothing happened. No question asked to confirm the wipe and all it did was a short blink screen and the screen stayed the same.
Any helps would be highly appreciated !!!
That sounds a bit tricky to me, but first things first.
The first boot after installing CM7 can take a while (some minutes) since all the dalvik cache and other things has to be built. Taking out the battery during that is somewhat risky I think. After the first boot, the system starts pretty fast.
The best guess for you (at least that is what I would try) is:
go to recovery, clear dalvik cache and cache. If you have not installed CM7 before, i would also recommend to clear data as well (ok you lose you data but I hope that you were not doing it without a backup).
Then I would reflash cm7 and try again.
since you had the cm7 boot scree, I believe you have no kernel problem...
by the way, do you know what version your initial rom was?
I think it`s better to flash it from scratch:
1) Flash your previous rom with RSD
2) Root + cwm recovery
3) Cyan
(and if I were you - I would do wipe from stock recovery after 1st step and wipe from custom recovery after 3 step)
Yes, as Iddqd2 suggested just flash stock froyo using RSD Lite and then go all over for CM7 method of installation.

[Q] Splish Splash my phone is taking a bath

Hey, first time posting. Flashed Shooter RLS 4.4 (first ROM) and everything was GREAT. I decided to change the unlock Screen from Android to Honeycomb (because it didn't show who was calling if the phone wasn't unlocked) and it said that I needed to reboot. So I did... And then it's been stuck on the white HTC Evo 4G screen ever since. I took out the battery and tried restarting, nothing. I took out the battery, booted into recovery, attempted to reboot via Amon Ra,...back to the white screen. Anything I can do other than re-flash the ROM? I don't have a nandroid backup (yeah, messed up).
Thanks in advance for the help.
Did you try wiping the Cache and the Dalvik while you were in recovery?

Just did and so far it's back up and running. A lil sluggish right now but I'm sure it'll work itself out.
Appreciate the help.
What exactly does wiping Cache and Dalvik do, if you don't mind explaining.
Thanks either way.
You need to wipe everything before flashing a new rom and cache and dalvik before flashing a theme or mod to a rom, cache and dalvike are temp files that need to be erased and rebuilt, you have to wipe everything else when flashing a new rom to get rid of all the data just like formatting a hard drive before installing a new OS

4.3 flashing and bootlooping problem

Hi there
I seem to have a problem flashing 4.3 roms, actually any rom that isn't stock in general.
Right now I am running syzmel's 20E with 1.3ghz overclock version 3.09.
Back to the problem: this is the steps I take to upgrade to any rom: 1. Download (slimbean, vanir asop) 2. flash v20D (unmodded) 3. Root it using Framaroot 4. Install CWM using L7CWM.zip (extracted, then clicked on flash bootloader, flash recovery, and then booted into recovery) 5. Boot into CWM 6. Click on factory reset and reset 7. Go into mounts and storage and format /system 8. Go to advanced and wipe dalvik cache. 9. Flash either 4.3 version slimbean or Vanir ASOP (tell me which is better) 9. Flash gapps (Slimbean: Slim AIO minimal Gapps, Vanir: 4.3 minimal Gapps which is found in the Vanir ASOP page) 10. Factory reset again 11. Wipe dalvik 12. Reboot
Now as soon as I reboot, either it stays rebooting, or boots once and when you reboot it stays at the boot loading page (slimbean logo, or android logo) (In other words, once you go black, you never go back. Not being racist, just saying once it blacks out it doesn't work no more). So i retry. And then I give up and stick on v20E.
So please suggestions?

Did you try boot without gapps... Sometimes bad gapps cause a lot of problems
