When I bought my tablet, I immediately flashed CWM. I'm upgrading to ICS now and flashed back to stock recovery via "Acer Recovery" from the play store. But when I boot into recovery now, it just shows a exclamation point inside an triangle with a android guy standing up. Not sure if this is it but can anyone help me remember what stock looks like.

I've flashed 3.1, and now everytime I try to flash CWM, it goes FINE, but when I do a adb reboot recovery, I get the green Android guy with the exclamation point.
I've doneit like 10 times and dont know wtf else to do?

I had the same issue. so I installed rom manager and installed 3.0.2.5 from within the app. then I booted into recovery from within the app. I then flashed BRD's 3.0.2.8 flashable zip. now I have no issue getting into recovery.
This isn't my first android root but I'm stuck. I followed the video for rooting my Nexus 10. Got stuck in a boot loop but was able to flash cwm but still in boot loop. I tried doing the factory reset and now cwm is gone too and still stuck in boot loop. I tried reflashing cwm. When I try to access recovery I get the red triangle with ! on it. And I'm stuck in boot loop. I went here and tried to reflash recovery.img and no joy. Still no recovery access and no boot. ((
accidentally posted this in the samsung nexus forum #whoops
Boot back into recovery and press all 3 buttons (power, vol +, vol -) simultaneously until the menu comes up. The timing has to be very exact so don't worry if it takes 10+ tries. Then select factory reset and it should boot up properly.
I never could get CMW to stay. So I flashed TWRP as the recovery instead. Also follow wireroid advice about getting out of boot loop. If you want to SEE that method, check out the rooting N10 vid on youtube by qbking777.
some progress!
Ok I got back into the tablet with wireroid help YAH!!
I have a system update pending but when I tried to install it I got the red! with 'no command' ... after a near heart attack I did the factory reset again and got back to where I was before.
Now I need pointed in the right direction. So right now I'm unlocked but that's it. I have no custom recovery and presumably no su access because all I successfully did was unlock the bootloader.
I downloaded the nexux10 toolkit. Do I need to flash a recovery first? Do I try CMW again or go with TWRP? I've only used CMW in the past.
Do I ignore this Jelly Bean system update for now??

Try this toolkit by Wugfresh. http://www.wugfresh.com/nrt/
It's what I used and I went from locked and stock to unlocked, rooted, and with TWRP as my recovery in less than 15 minutes. I unlocked and rooted my GNex the "old-fashioned" way but wanted something easier for my N10.
Also, here's a YouTube video from QBKing77 walking you through the process using the above toolkit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtLvlrUDB04&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Since you're already unlocked you should be able to just skip to the part where root and a custom recovery are flashed (you'll end up with TWRP but you can always download ROM Manager and flash ClockworkMod if that's your preference).
Good luck.
I ran MSkip toolkit and it repaired everything. I got a failed on renaming my recovery images so my stock recovery images are just gone I guess? Anyway I'm good. Rooted and repaired thanks to Skips toolkit.
Thanks for all the help!

First of all, I have it unlocked and rooted and had CyanaogenMod 10.1 installed. It was working without a problem earlier today and has been for a week or so, so everything had been properly flashed.
When I go to restart, it goes to the CyanogenMod loading screen and gets stuck there. I restarted it, holding the volume down button to access the screen where I can go into recovery. When I choose recovery, I get an android with a red triangle with an exclamation point. What can I do from here to get it working properly?
I just tried flashing the stock Android 4.2 image through the Nexus Toolkit. It flashed the bootloader, flased radio image successfully. THen it said boot.sig, recovery.sig, and system.sig were not found, which I have read is what is supposed to happen. So then it sent boot, sent recovery, erased system, and sent system. Now it says writing system and is taking a really long time. Is it normal for it to take a really long time? For reference, it's been saying writing system for about a half hour now.
ANy help here? WOuld appreciate any advice or input.
It shouldn't take that long use this guide to return to stock http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010312
From my BLACKED OUT N4
NM, misread the post.
Using what you said. Writing system just started. Approximately how long should this take?
THanks dude. I was able to flash my custom recovery and reinstall CyanogenMod. Thanks a lot dude! I'll give you some thanks.
that android with the red triangle and exclamation point is the stock recovery. you could have just fastboot flashed a custom recovery, then wiped data and reflashed cm in the recovery.

I have a problem that i need help with.
I have an i337 that originally came with the MDL firmware. I rooted with casual and had TWRP 2.6.3.0 installed. Ive flashed many roms, and currently using Beanstalk 4.4 with the KT-AOSP kernel.
I wanted to try PhilZ recovery, so I flashed it from TWRP like the instructions said. I dont know if its because i am so used to doing it with ROMS, but i think I flashed Loki-doki.zip too. When I tried to boot into recovery, i got the dreaded yellow triangle.
I rebooted into download mode and hit volume down to get back to beanstalk, and i tried to flash TWRP from GOOManager. I'm still getting the yellow triangle.
Here is the biggest problem - My little computer has such a small screen that ODIN doesnt show all of the buttons. Is there any way I can get my recovery back?
Thanks in advance.
I have a Canadian galaxy note 3 currently with Telus. I had it rooted with a custom rom once before but then Un rooted it and put it back to the stock rom that I got off sammobile.com. The problem is that I rooted it again and every time I try to install a custom recovery nothing will work. I've tried through Odin, goo manager, rom manager... but every time I boot into recovery it loads the stock recovery. The stock recovery also has the tipped over android with the red triangle. Please help! I love custom roms to much to give up on this

Did you uncheck auto reboot in odin before you flashed? After the flash pull the battery and reinsert it after 5 seconds. Hold volume up + menu + power and you should get in to the custom recovery.

I have tried that but when it starts to boot the recovery it gets stuck in a loop where it vibrates, shows the words recovery booting and then the screen goes black and it repeats over and over.

I had anthem ioap rom before but now I am just running the stock samsung firmware. I've tried to install cwm and twrp but it is not working. I don't get stuck in the recovery booting loop anymore though. Instead Odin gets stuck on the recovery.img process.
