Flashed Megatron CM9 today. One small issue... - Eee Pad Transformer General

The sound seems very low. Upon further inspection, the right speaker is much louder than the left. It's not a huge issue, but it can be annoying watching video's and stuff since it sounds like i'm only getting audio from one speaker.
Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks man! I searched for "speaker low" and didn't come up with anything. I thought it was a Megatron issue only. It's weird because the sound was perfect before both stock and running prime (honeycomb). Oh well...works much better now. Still not perfect but acceptable.

Volume problem!!!!!

Hey guys just wondering if anyone is facing any volume problems after the 3.1 update.........prior to the upgrade I had awesome crisp sound flowing through the speakers and equally good sound through headphones ......... after upgrading I lost sound on my left speaker and sound through headphones is barely a whisper .........any suggestions guys? Cheers in advance

I think my volume is lower then it was before the update.
now that I think of it, my max volume sounds quieter as well.
Right speaker sound is gone and left too quiet after update. Headphones too low. After two resets and no change returned to walmart. I cannot deal with such nonsense.

My volume is crap from day one (launch date) Right is louder then Left. Hopefully there's a fix for this.
F**k I think my tf knew I was complaining about it ........ You guys are gonna love this...... Now only my right speaker side is playing music and only the left side on headphones is playing music........and before u smart assess out there say maybe its ur headphones ....its not I tried 3 different pairs :b

Mine works well after the leaked 3.1, maybe a bit less volume though. Balance on speakers and headphones is perfect. Left speaker no longer has issues, probably related to lower volume. FLAC on headphones is remarkably good.

No problem here.
Both speakers seems balanced and loud.
However this is my 2nd transformer I bought.
The first one i had the right side stopped working
then both died =/ lol RMA getting it back on 6th.
Sigh now its in stock. I can't sell it -.-
I am using the leaked version and sound is great. Of course don't expect a loud buzz from the built-in speakers, but with my JLAB headset it fine!
Just got mine yesterday... did the update and everything seems to work well except for the speakers.... Overall quality kinda seems crappy and my right speaker is much louder than the left one. This sux
I'm going to try to downgrade to 3.01 then upgrade on the leaked version ...... I'll keep u guys posted

Well some good news. Supercurio is improving the sound on the Asus Transformer. He did a great job on the galaxy phones. So there's hope yet.

Diminished Sound Output?

Has anyone lost like 60% of sound reproduction volume with the upgrade to 3.1? I'm about to do a wipe and reinstall if it's just me, but basically I can't hear **** now.
I used to be able to hear the tablet clearly from another room, not loudly but i could make out what song was playing. Now I can barely hear the tablet when it's in my hands. Is it 3.1 or did primordial do something. Is there a sound mod app? I have looked and my volume settings all APPEAR to be maxed out.

I don't know that it's a 60% reduction but I have noticed it as well.

No change for me. Internal speakers are still plenty loud. Headphone is too quiet, but that was the case with earlier firmware too, but that can to some extent be solved with a free app called Volume+. (It's a pay app in the market, but free if you go to the author's own site, and enable installing apps from outside the market.)
What's hopeless for me is the microphone. It barely picks up anything more than 2-3 inches away from the mic port. To Skype, I actually have to hold the tablet sideways so my mouth is right next to the mic, which seems ludicrous to me. Been meaning to start a thread and ask if others have the same issue.
I just tried to play some mp4s that I have, I noticed that the volume is lower too.
It was anemic before and possibly slightly more now. The overall volume (or lack of it) is the only thing I really find disappointing about the TF. Was playing a vid for a doc at a meeting the other day, and three of us huddle around it had a hard time hearing it cranked all the way up. The slightest noise of anyone else doing anything in the room just killed it.
Yeh I've had a major drop in left speaker and bad drop in volume on headphones ...... And mine was the official 3.1 update too...... Very dissatisfied

Same problem here. Video is very low when playing avi's or TV Shows Stream. But YouTube app is plenty loud.
Any fixes?
I bought volume + and now it is much louder. Left speaker is still lower volume though. But now atleast I can hear music from the tab.

Bumping this. I'm hoping someone has an idea. It feels like its getting worse. Basically I used to be able to place the tablet on a rack in front of the ****ter and enjoy a show while I pooped, but now I simply can't hear it at all, even with no white noise or anything that could be an issue. So with what you guys have said, I know I'm not crazy.
SOMEONE PLEASE FIGURE THIS OUT. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW.
some peeps already figured out it's a messed up sound config file and you can fix it if you are rooted, was readig through a thread on it here I bleieve lst night. I'm sure it'll be fixed with a software update.

I'm delivering pizzas right now. Do you have a link
I had this too before I sent it in for RMA service.
In fact, I knew about this issue before I even upgraded to 3.1 so I was aware and decided to see if these people were making this up or not. After upgrading I did notice a significant decrease in volume. This was disappointing, it almost made me feel like I was using the Nook Color again.
You're not imagining this. Before the sound was so loud that you could hear it from another room and the unit actually vibrates a bit. Now it's so low it's hard to hear the low tones in anything.
My guess is they messed with it to try to fix the imbalanced speaker issue but ended up messing it up for other people now. ETA for fix is fifteen years. See you then!
Noticed lower volume too after update. take the srs_proceeding.cfg file from my 3.0.1 and paste it to the 3.1 rom and it was louder.

Voice quality issues with cm7 and miui

I'm making a new thread for this because it applies to cm7 and miui and will get buried in their threads.
Basically im assuming MIC volume is maxed out. Your own voice can feedback into the speaker when on a call. You sound distorted to the person on the other end, especially when you're not in a quiet location. Basically making the phone part of the phone un usable. I have had this happen on all cm7 miui builds.
Also speaker volume can not be changed when the screen is off
Known issue acknowledged by Uber that is somehow involved with the mic feedback resolution. They are working on it, but I have no idea when it'll be fixed. Flashing Bushido or Shadow kernel seems to help.

Having the same problem! Thought it was the replacement phone I just got but on stock 2.3, the mic sounds great.
Distortion and low mic threshold. Picks up way too much background noise.

Does your TF300(T/TG) has high pitch sound on recorded video?

In this poll I wanted to see how many people has this problem, because it seems like alot of people are having it and some don't. Other than that, most people (including me), if we have our tablet connected to the charger or charging on dock- the high pitch sound completely disappear. If you want to test it out, just record a video then play it with MAX volume or use headphones to listen for high pitch sound. Its pretty obvious too.
Here is a sample video that has high pitch noise recorded on my TF300T - use a headphone or max your volume in a quiet place to listen for it

ROM issue
Have you ruled out maybe if it is ROM specific.
I personally dont have it:
Ran Stock ICS and JB
Currently running CM 10 Nightlies
V/R,
@kd8bny
It sounds like something affected by how much power is going through the tablet. Maybe some sort of setting hidden somewhere (performance setting vs battery economy setting, brightness high vs brightness low, etc. except more deep within the OS that's configured to run automtically). Maybe CM10's optimizations just happened to coincidentally get that "hidden setting" correct. Like how many cores are running when video is on, etc. Maybe anyone who doesn't have the high pitched noise can chime in here and let us know if they're on stock OS or installed a custom ROM?

Very possible speaking of my Inspire 4g. Something very similar happened during playback of music. I will keep my ears open for that issue....looks like im in the minority so far.
Stock rom and it's happening. From time to time the volume of the high frequency sound gets lower, almost disappearing. After a while, though, it comes back in force. Like it's related to some cyclical activity within the tablet.

I'm getting it on video recorded on my tab. Other videos such as Netflix do not have the high pitched noise. I've seen this thread but never got around to checking it. Glad I finally did. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Both of my TF300T have the high pitch sound on recorded videos.
No high pitch sound recorded if it's connected to the charger or when it's in the keyboard dock.
Just had the latest 10.4.2.18 system update this morning and it's still the same.

[Q] Noise cancellation sounds terrible

Just after getting my G2 i installed CyanogenMod 10.2 Milestone on it. I started doing some tests to see if CM could be my daily driver, and nothing really seemed to be a deal breaker, except, when i try to record videos (or I'm guessing any other sound recorder) the sound it not really that great. I went back to the stock LG software, and was hoping i only had to stay there until CM fixed the noise cancellation issue. But what do i find, the noise cancellation problem is still there.
I have been looking around here on the XDA forums, (This is my first post btw) and I came across this (what seemed like) amazing mod. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2471900 But it might just be me being a droid-noob (Have only had android for 2 weeks now), but i cant figure out how to get this to work, it even bumps up the quality of pictures and videos including other cool tweaks. I have tried installing the .zip file via CWM, but that gave me nothing, also tried installing the cameraapp.apk the thread provided, but it just refused to install.
So please, if any droid-guru can help me make my microphone sound better, (both in the stock software and in CM) i would appreciate it!
Are you using some cover on the G2 ? If so, try removing it as it might cause disturbance to the reference microphone.

I do not have a cover or case, and I know the noise cancellation is software related. My phone is the D802, the one without a rear-facing microphone, maby that can have something to do with it?
I have the same problem witm my lg g2.After I record a video or use voice recorder the sound freezing and the quality is very poor.I thought that I have only my this problem...My phone is not rooted and I have it from yesterday morning.Today I sow this problem.I made a factory reset and the problem is not solved. Is something that I can do with this issue?

I have thought about that, but I've heard a few other people have this problem as well, and im 99% sure it is software related. Though to every rule there is an exception..
Just some more info. Here is a video i recorded going home from work, and as you can hear the sounds are very "Watery" or "Distorted" as many describe it. (The bad video quality is a combination of my using CM10.2, only recording in 720P and YouTubes bitrate being bad as always)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgdtWzoQkOU&feature=youtu.be
And no, I did NOT cover up any of the microphones, im 100% sure about that.

Video uses the rear mic for audio zoom. Not even sure if it cancels as well like the top. Verizons model ONLY has a top. I have no distortion or watery sound when using stock recorder or on video. I however do get dead silence between some sounds, very good cancellation, sometimes a bit too much. Voice Privacy in dailer has NOTHING to do with voice cancellation. It is an algorithm used to encrypt voice communications and is worthless being hacked long ago. VS980

I have the d802, and that does not have rear mounted microphone. So maybe it is just some bad optimization. There has got to be a way to disable the noise cancelling microphone, or use it as a secondary mic.

Okay..
So basically every rom out there for the G2 has terrible sound when it comes to the microphone, but there is a fix, i'm sure!
A few weeks back i downloaded the AOSPA 4 rom for the G2 and installed it, and guess what, it removed the noise cancellation!
But after the rom was buggy here and there, I decided to live with the bad sound on CM 10.2.
Now a few weeks has gone by, and I wanted to try out the updated AOSPA 4 rom, but what is diz, the sound is terrible!?
So it seems like the whoever is in charge of the AOSPA rom for the G2 has brought back the horrible sound.
Now is there a way to get the microphone profiles from one rom over to another? I have the old AOSPA 4 rom, with the working sound on my computer, and I want to take the microphone profile, and save it, so that i can manually add it to any other rom i download in the future, because I know that roms like CM probably wont update the mic profile for one specific phone.
Hey there, I just got myself LG G2 D802 and I find the noise cancellation in videos to be extremely annoying. Do you guys know if there is a fix to it yet? Something to disable it would be awesome.
