I've been messing with mine so not sure if this is due to that or if this was on here from VZ. It doesn't work, gives me Error: no connection when using my sim from my phone.
dont see it on mines
Nope. Just checked. Did you install some phone apk?
Sent from my SCH-I815 using XDA Premium HD app
I moved over a mms.apk at one point, but didn't expect to get a dialer.
Nope but waiting on a sim cutter before moving apks and what not. That'd be an amazing find if it just works. We can hope

The icon looks exactly like the one for TabletTalk. You can use that to dial and place calls to your Bluetooth connected phone, kinda like a remote control.
wait Verizon 7.7 has SIM slot? well lets flash a modem and getting this thing dialing out!

I've not dabbled much into this, so forgive me if my ignorance is too overwhelming
In the last week or so I've had luck using friends SIM cards in my phone. Both were serviced by ATT. Then I tried it with a pre-paid SIM that belongs to my grandparents that has plenty of time on it. This however, does not work. It just says Searching constantly. I've also tried it in my unlocked G1 (actually got in touch with T-mobile and obtained an unlock code) and I get the same.
This is of particular concern to me because I will be leaving the country in about a month and I'd really like to know if it's going to work at my destination. Is there some other setup I need to be doing that differs from a regular sim to a pre-paid sim?
Was it a Boost Mobile prepaid? Those are known to not work, due to the network they use.

I use prepaid sims all the time abroad... Usually have to enter the APN info manually for data to work, but calls work as soon as I activate them.

You've tried the battery pull and the like? Next I would makes sure your network selection is set to automatic...finally there are also threads out there with the correct ATT settings as a last resort...
Where is your phone from?
If you are using the currently available v2.3.4 you'll have to add an APN.

If your network is GSM, it'll work. You may have to set up the APN manually to use 3G, but it'll work

Yes, here in India, there is only GSM... I mean CDMA exists, but hardly anyone uses it...
SO YAY!!!
Its just as easy as that? My uncle orders it from the Play Store, gets it, and sends it here. Then I just put my SIM and profit?

I pre-ordered full price to keep my unlimited. I don't plan to root or anything right away. Want to play with it stock and see how it goes, but I would love to be able to tether right away. Granted nobody has the US/VZW variant yet, but a working FoxFi on the models out now would give me hope.
So, does it work?

That's great and all, but I was specifically asking if any owners can confirm it is working. Conjecture is great, and I see no reason why it wouldn't work, but confirmation is better. Some devices don't work with FoxFi and as this is a new device, let's just be sure.

phones already been dumped. system dump from an actual device wouldn't be a bad idea tho.

I suppose IO/thecubed could update his root tool. I will ask him to do that.

Definitely would like a system dumb. I know some people who would like to take some files from it to see if Google Wallet will work. Actually could you test this for us? Mainly looking to see if you're able to use Tap n Pay (NFC payments) on the sprint G2.

Just check the sim card. A USIM means the Sim card does the LTE authentication while the device does the CDMA authentication. A CSIM means that both LTE and CDMA Authentication comes from the sim card and you can hot swap devices by using the sim card just like the Iphone 5s/5c which uses CSIM.

USIM .. like most current Sprint devices. So most of the provisioning is still done in the EFS.. unlike the 5s which relies entirely on the sim card.

Sounds like marketing speak to me, not really a legit reason.
More likely they are having tri-band hand off issues.

Sounds like maybe LTE 2600 (B41) hand off issues between the different LTE bands that is causing the delay. What does this phone being an exclusive triband have to do with it? Obviously the demo units are already available so the phone must be done. I doubt it is due to production issues since LG shouldn't need to make as many phones at launch like Verizon or ATT do. Doesn't sound like it makes any sense to me. Oct 25th would have already been pushing it.

That seems to be my guess that Sprint is waiting on the LTE 2600 network to be built out a bit more before launch. But it also could be that Sprint can be having LTE 2600 TD-LTE to LTE 1900 FDD LTE hand off issues that is causing the delay.
