Can any new owners confirm FoxFi working? - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I pre-ordered full price to keep my unlimited. I don't plan to root or anything right away. Want to play with it stock and see how it goes, but I would love to be able to tether right away. Granted nobody has the US/VZW variant yet, but a working FoxFi on the models out now would give me hope.
So, does it work?

FoxFi is what used to be PdaNet, So yes, it would work.

They are in collaboration at least

That's great and all, but I was specifically asking if any owners can confirm it is working. Conjecture is great, and I see no reason why it wouldn't work, but confirmation is better. Some devices don't work with FoxFi and as this is a new device, let's just be sure.

All you have to do is press the home button once the Verizon subscription notice pops up and it works just fine.

Wifi tether

Having issues tethering here. I know on previous phones att had a tether manager apk I could delete to tether for free. Now I dont see it and wifi hotspot says I need a plan. Couldnt get any version of wifi tether to work, or foxfi. .
Anybody have hotspot up and running?

that may be what you're looking for until we get the bootloader unlocked and can start doing some heavy modding!

Really? The device is a pos if you can't illegally tether without a plan that allows tethering?
Not to be rude, but there are ways to ask things without being a jerk about it.
Pay for tethering if that's what you want. Find a way around it, but that's not because the device, Samsung, or ATT have provided a pos device.

foxfi works for me without root I can tether. its on sale right bow from 7.95 to 2.99.. really works great

Me too~
I didn't know there was an app by Chainfire that manipulated hotspot controls, haha.
It works for me quite well!
However, Foxfi didn't do anything for me, it just force-closed itself after hanging for 10 seconds.
Also, if you want to use the default functionality, you can drop by over here.
I've never had a device right out of the gate before, but I'm glad there are devs so diligent on getting the ball rolling for this device like literally(seemingly) every other device out there.

App request: Xfinity TV Go app that works with T-Mobile 4G

Like the title says, trying to use my T-Mobile Note 3 to stream movies via Xfinity app but apparently only Verizon users have this privlage. That's pretty messed up, may drop Comcast if I don't find a solution. Is there some kind of FCC rule against this kind of thing?

I have noticed same thing and after small read, apparently they have struck some kind of exclusive deal and #[email protected]&#[email protected] the rest of us. I find it very unfair. I pay good price for the service and do t see why I have to be excluded from ALL benefits of it.
Would love to see if there is an old app that works before an update or if there is a hack to trick fake wifi over 4g
Ohhhhh man.. same here bro. . I have att now and my note 3 will not stream on 3/4g like it did on verizon. I am using Android tuner to adjust permissions to see if I can get it to work. Will report back

Verizon update and FoxFi

Are there any foxfi users on the VZW G4 that can confirm that foxfi still works (or doesn't) after taking today's OTA update?
Thanks,
Mike

Did it used to work for you? When you install FoxFi it prompts you to install/configure a VPN, but the setup is very minimal.
Question: I don't have the phone, but am due an upgrade with verizon in a week. Doesn't the LG G4 have a Portable WiFi hotspot option? or in other words why would one need FoxFi on this phone?
Foxfi is free i believe. Anyone had luck with Sprint's G4 and Foxfi?

FoxFi is for people without tethering on their plan, like us on unlimited data. The phone has built-in tethering, but unless it's on your plan it doesn't work. FoxFi bypasses this.

Yes.
Yeah, but like many other phones, HTC One M9...sometimes messing with different Roms/development breaks VoLTE...so when you are talking on the phone...no more data.
So careful with Verizon...only time will tell I guess...let's hope it is a go though no matter what you do to it.
I'm talking about stock rom

If anyone can get it done for a business account let me know. The workaround for personal accounts won't work for me, and Verizon is saying they won't turn itbon because they don't recognize my device as one of theirs.
Worked for me with my N6 sim in the phone & WiFi off
Works for me. Add it to your line on Verizon's website.

I'm confused, is it working or is it not working? Why is it apparently works for some and doesn't work for others? Did you enable advanced calling feature via your profile?

Yeah, it works. Never knew you had to manually add the "Advanced Calling" feature...
BTW, VZW actually had the decency to allow adding the feature even though it was a "Non-VZW" device.
It works for me. Just checked made a call and browsed some websites. I already had advanced calling enabled

If I root and use Hotspot without paying for it, will Sprint throttle the Hotspot?

Basically I want to root and use the Hotspot function without officially going through sprint.
Will Sprint throttle my Hotspot uses if they dont really know that I'm using it?
Thanks
