Anyone know why MoboPlayer gets stuck "Generating Thumbnails" when scanning a folder in the SD card for media? I've got numerous MP3 files in there, but it doesn't seem to detect them.

Hi im new here and this is my first post.
When i first tried to upload songs into my library from the Storage card, it worked fine, but now im not having the same luck.
After i begin to update my library it detects all the mp3 on the storage card but then when its adding them to the library it stops about half way and just lags for about a minute or 2. Then when it says done, the mp3 have not been uploaded at all. I've tried several times but with the same results.
It seems like the only way i can play the mp3's from the storage device in windows media player is my individually selecting the files and playing them one at time
Is there someway to fix this problem?
Is there another mp3 player that can be added to the TYTN?
Is there another way to play mp3's from your storage device without adding them to your library?
Thanks!

This is a standard WM5 problem.
Find MSmetadata folder on storage card - DELETE it (need file explorer set to show all files - hidden files)
Should find it works better now. Reconstruct library.
If still stuck see here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=284271&highlight=msmetadata
or search using MSMETADATA
Mike
That worked perfectly and resolved my problem
Thanks alot.
Can anyone out there help please.
I have been happily using a 4gb card in my Trinity for the last month, storing most of my program files and all my music on the card.
I just had to resetup my Trinity. I deleted all the program files but left the music on the card alone.
Windows Media Plaey now no longer sees the card and wont update the library from it. it seems to count the music files when searching, just doesnt add them.
There are no software conflicts, i am using the same software as before this fault happened, you can still play individual media files from the card by opening the file from file explorer or media player.
Anyone any ideas please??
i have had the same happen to me, the only way to play music is to go into file finder and play it from there....its bloody annoying
Try deleting the MSMETADATA and WMDRM folders from the storage card, they're hidden folders. Then try and update the library again.
Hey guys I'm having problem with music on my dhd
I'm using Isyncr for mac to put my itunes libary on the sd card but when I open the music about 10 artists work then the rest go under unknown artist and it shows song time as 00.00
I used this app on my old nexus one and it was fine??
Any solutions would be greatly appreciated thanks
try just copying and pasting to the sd card instead of using and intermediary application if it works fine doing it that way then its probably a problem with the program
if they are AAC they might not playback most devices ive owned will not play AAC, AAC seems to be a format mainly supported by apple
Nope no still no luck, i copied over and its still doing it. There deffo mp3 files.. i dont know why its doing it.
Anyone else got any idea?
I have the same problem.
I'm really disappointed with the music player. It's basically a bag of s**t unless ALL your MP3s have the exact correct tags (album, artist, etc).
Most of my MP3s have "Unknown" or "Disk 1" as the album tag. So the music player puts all these into the same "folder".
Does anyone know how I can get the music player to navigate the SD Card correctly and just play a friggin folder??
I'm getting really frustrated with it!
Thanks
Hey guys,
I just bought a new Galaxy S4 I9500 [Baseband Version - I9500JKUAMD9 Build Number - JDQ39.I9500XXUAMDE] + SanDisk 64gb microSD card.
I have a really strange issue with my music files, they are not recognized by the stock music player or any other player except VLC.
The mp3 files are on my external memory, folder 'music'.
The strange thing is that the players recognize only 10 out of 1700 songs, BUT when I'm browsing with ES browser to the mp3 files and renaming them, the music players recognize the renamed mp3s.
I've tried transferring the files by just copying them to the sd card and by using Kies, the same problem.
Can anyone tell me why do the music player recognize the songs only after renaming them?
Pay attention to where you get your stuff from to avoid a $700 paperweight
There are many carriers and models of S4

Go into Application Manager and clear the data for Media Storage. Reboot and once startup has finished, leave for about 5 minutes for your media storage data to rebuild.

Don’t know what will end up being useful info so here goes. I had 1000 songs on my 32 GB sd card and was able to use the built in music player and MusiXmatch to play. Then I updated the MP3’s with embedded cover art and lyrics. Things were still good. Then I installed MXvideo, podcast addict, instagram. Then I copied about 2GB of 12 video files and was playing those with MXvideo. I changed quite a few settings in MXvideo and podcast addict.
Now I went back to MusicXmatch and Music player and my 1000 songs are not shown. They are still there in My files and if I click on them they play with the music player from the sd card. If I try to play a previously created playlist or recently listened to it tells me can’t play that audio type. If I copy a file from the sd card to phone it will be added to the library and play. If I try to go to a folder on the sd card from with in a music app it doesn’t seems to recognize that there is an sd card.
Steps taken
Reboot
Remove SD card, reinsert, reboot
Cleared all default apps that I thought had anything to do with audio
Uninstalled all recent apps
Thought it was something try to take over the playing of .mp3’s but they play fine if on phone
Stumped!
.nomedia file
Ok so I noticed a .nomedia file on the root of the sd card. Evidently, this stops all apps from scanning this or sub folders.
So I deleted it BUT this doesn’t clear the problem. I unmounted SD card, cleared cache, reboot, etc. trying to get the apps to rescan.
What I had to do was unmount, pull card, reboot without card and then insert.
Still don't know what app put that file there.
Hope this helps someone else someday.
