Spirit FM Radio
Should work fine
It doesn't work. It says "Error = no FM accesible"

This thread should be placed in the development section.
You will likely receive better feedback there.
Scott
PS: I tried CM9 b2 and found the camera too buggy (preview and focus issues)

Turn on Bluetooth manually before starting Spirit.
CM9 has a strange way of dealing with Bluetooth on many devices. Bluetooth is always running, and turning the BT switch on or off only makes it look to Android like it's in the selected state.

There is an app that support FM radio with RDS in our phones. I've tested it and it works fine in Mik's CM7:
I'm not the developer and have nothing to do with this project.
Market link: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.mikersmicros.fm
Developer page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1059296
Screenshots and more info: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1069885
Unique features:
- It works without headphones connected (better signal with them).
- RDS support.
I used it on LOL 1.42 and unfortunatelly not working

Thanks, I've added the info to the title.
I'm trying to get a video with sound of screencast of the radio for my GT540 area post.
Nice to see that someone knows about my topic so quickly (the info + screens one)
I can't use it on my country (Indonesia)

Downloaded this app this morning, it seems to be fairly stable and foolproof on CM7 mik's 6.42, I don't have any RDS stations in my area so I can't test whether it works but I can see this becoming a default app choice with some work on aesthetics, I must say however, that I still need headphones to get reception for any channels but that is probably more down to the radio station not the app.
I tested it yesterday and its working well. Excellent/loud sound quality plus it does shows RDS stations. I think its better thn the default FM radio application (MIUI) in Mik's rom.
Thanks OP for sharing it.

AFAIK, it should work on Android v2.1+.
At this time it's more a matter of a ROM supporting a working hcitool, and/or with TI chips a working btipsd_cli. I'm working on a solution that speaks directly to the HCI UART to deal with proprietary BT stacks. There are also phones with audio routing issues but I'm working on that too.
Googled my app name and found this thread. I was using a Desire HD for Broadcom FM chip testing but now I have a P500h.
I tried to re-flash the stock Telus ROM yesterday to see if my HCI UART solution would work on P500 stock ROM, but couldn't get that LG flasher working right. Last time I dealt with that program I bricked an Optimus Chic several months ago.
Tried to get void ROM running and was stuck in an LG logo loop. Now back to mik_os CM and hesitant to try any other ROM as I want to get back to app dev and not frustrating ROM flash attempts.
I'm starting to think LG made a few too many engineering shortcuts to make the P500 relatively inexpensive. Battery was too tight when I had to remove to get out of emergency mode or stop boot loop. Screwdriver bit into the battery and created a few sparks but phone kept on running, LOL.
I may not check this thread too often, so I'd encourage discussion on the thread in my sig.
Welcome Mike.

Hi all anyone know if the xperia play has an fm Radio and if so where ?
Sent from my R800i using XDA App
There's no FM-Radio app on the xplay. SE chose not to enable that function for some reason ( afaik the hardware is there). I think I read somewhere that the reason is battery drain and that might well be, cause on my HTC DHD it was a big drainer.
Regards Dousan...
Good news if the fm Radio hardware IS there, but I have my doubts... Anyone know any apps that might make use of the possible fm Radio hardware?
Has anyone got the radio to work using any apps?

Stock FM from 2.2 doesn't show the Icon but bluetooth is enabled if you check the radio status from terminal emulator and such. Spirit FM I think doesn't do that. You'll need to find Spirit FM Free, the author placed it in some filesharing site and removed it from market.

YOU CAN NOT enable FM without bluetooth, spirit FM uses the same instructions to enable Radio as Stock or CM roms. The reason you can not see the Bluetooth icon on stock Roms is that its hidden, but you can easily check that its on, by say getting any bluetooth manager app, and going into it, realising bluetooth is already on
what is the latest version of spirit fm radio????
Check this
I think the below link is the one. Please check

Try tunein radio for free radio, it relies on mobile data / WiFi but is very good for a radio app.

There is spirit radio for those who dont have FM radio in stock. It works with every previous phone I owned but not working with my setting on my n4.
As far as I remember it is kernel specific and with franco its not working now. I still have to search and try few different settings.
In short Spirit FM radio is your only hope.
Edit :- was searching for spirit fm support. Till now no support and things not looking positive. They are coming out with next version in Jan so just wait and watch other than that dont even hope it will get FM radio support.

I tried them ages ago - you dont get any audio duo to libs
if you want radio either use stock rom or an internet radio app
You can use TuneIn Radio. Very nice radio app but it requires an internet connection.
