Hi everyone
I'm on Aurora 2.0.8, and I have a strange issue.
In the Gmail App, I can't preview or open .xls files
My "office" app is Google Docs, aren't these attachments supposed to be opened, previewed, whatever on Google Docs?
But even more weird... I can't download those files... There's only an option that says "INFO", and when I press it, it says "No app can open this attachement for viewing".
I can't honestly believe such a simple thing is not possible natively, and I'll need to install a 3rd party app for such a simple thing...
any ideas?

Hi all,
Even if I uncheck the Picasa synchronization in Google account, my DHD keeps asking me for an authorization for Gallery to get to my Picasa account (which I don't have !).
How can I get rid of it ?
How lucky you are, I have the exactly opposite problem
Can't you uninstall the picasa add-on in HTC Hub?

Well I've already uninstall HTC Hub.
But do you know which .apk belongs to Picasa ?
Dunno.. But you should also be able to uninstall it via Settings>>Applications>>Manage Applications. I see it listed there as "Picasa Web Albums" on my phone under Downloaded apps.

Well I've certainly removed it with ROM Cleaner before flashing Revolution HD as it doesn't appear in Applications list.
But I don't know why after a whole day being asked for an authorization, it doesn't seem to ask anymore... Tired perhaps... ?

Yes! Finally we have Push notifications for Facebook AND Twitter After the new facebook update, you might have noticed you are forced to have your facebook sync every 5, 10, 30 etc. minutes? Yeah, drove me insane too. Well there is now a fix. This is not my software. But it WORKS! and thats all that matters right? Make sure you check the "Unknown Sources" tab in Settings -> Application BEFORE you download to allow you to install this app. Browse this link below on your andorid device, download the small .APK, and install. Simple as that. Let me know if it works for you! Also, follow me on twitter @rosenbachera

Very Easy to do! Go to that website on your laptop/desktop, download the apk to your desktop, connect your phone as usb storage, drag it over to the root of the storage, or a folder if you choose. then go to your android, in the app list click files, then on phone, navigate where you saved it, press on in, and voila! And after the beta is done and it goes vo ver 1.x, then hopefully on the market
seems like a good idea and will give it a try, shouldn't they put this into the Twitter and Facebook App though?
UPDATE
Get an error when confirming second password
"Sorry some error occured"
Also my Twitter and Facebook passwords are different but it only asks for email, username and password so can't enter different passwords for Twitter and Facebook?

There are some attachments, like zip files, that cant be downloaded trough gmail app. Why does google limit what kind of attachments a user can download using gmail app is beyond me, so Ive tried to install two apps Download all files and Download buddy, however none of them work.
There is a partial solution to before mentioned problem which includes using a browser to download the attachments, but this defeats the whole purpose of standalone gmail app.
How are you guys handling downloading the attachments that are not download supported in gmail app?

Noticed this too, haven't found a fix yet though
Ive switched from gmail to k-9 mail, which allows me to normally download attachments without "discrimination". One less google app on my phone
advise replacing the standard gmail
try web based gmail, however, its working with me.
I installed the K-9 email app on my tablet. It seemed like the native app (titled 'Email') was causing some syncing problems, so I disabled it, or so I thought. When I realized that the syncing issue was probably not related to the Email app, I went to reactivate it, but I could not find it anywhere; I looked in Settings > Apps > All, but didn't find it.
I'm not sure what happened, though I'm pretty darn sure I didn't uninstall the app (someone on another thread said you can't uninstall the native Android/Google-supplied apps only disable them)
So can anyone take a stab and telling me what may have happened here? And how I might be able to get the app reinstalled on my Tablet.
As an aside, there are some things that I really like about K-9 email app over the native one, mostly that it has a 'select all' feature, so I can more easily select emails in the Trash folder to delete them. The native app only let you select emails one at a time--even in the Trash and Spam folders--which was a royal pain in the toosh. One downside to K-9 is it doesn't seem that the Trash folder is synced up to the Trash folder on my ISP's server. I can delete emails in the trash folder in K-9, but they are still waiting there for me when I view them back on my PC in either webmail or in Thunderbird. Not sure why this is happening, but it only seems to be true for the Trash folder.

If all you did was disable the app from the App Info page, you'll find it in one of two places.
a) If you're running Android 4.3, the furthest list to the right in the Apps settings menu will be Disabled apps.
b) If you're not, then scroll to the very bottom of the list and you should see any disabled apps there.
Re-installing Email app
Thanks for info. I did look in the apps 'all' list and Email is not there, so it looks like--despite my best intentions--I did delete the app. I wonder if there's a way of re-installing it? From what I've read, it is not an app that's been made available on its own by Google. Maybe there's a place I can request it?
In the mean time, I still have K-9 email app, which is working, but has some quirks to it.

That really shouldn't be possible. The stock e-mail app is installed to /system, so you can roll back any (of the non-existent) updates or disable it, but not uninstall it by default. What exactly are you running on your tablet right now?
Use a file explorer (ES File Explorer) and navigate to the /system/app directory and check to see if the email apk is there. If not, then you must somehow have uninstalled it. If that's the case, then here are the links to Email.apk and Exchange2.apk. Move them to /system/app and set permission to rw-r--r--

Reminders are non syncing properly in app and widget on Android (ok on wev).
Here's my scenario, tested on a phone and a tablet.
Add reminder in app: it shows on Web but not on app and not on widget.
Force sync in app: still nothing on app and nothing on widget.
Add normal event in app: even is added on Web and on app and on widget AND reminder now shows up also on app and on widget.
Delete reminder in app: reminder is deleted from Web but not from app and not from widget.
Delete event in app: event is deleted on Web and on app and on widget AND reminder is also deleted from app and from widget
It seems the problem is a display problem.
For example, if I modify a reminder on app, the changes appear on Web but not on app, still if I click the reminder in app it is opened with the changes made.
Also, if I delete a reminder from app, it is deleted from Web but not from app, yet if I click the reminder on app I get an error "reminder not found. As a proof: if I set a reminder it does not show in app but I get a notification when time comes!!!!!!!
I am having the same problem on Tab S2 8"
On the calendar forum someone us suggesting it's only a Samsung problem.
Anyone else?
Thanks
Please can someone try?
Google keeps on telling it's a Samsung problem.

Is there someone willing to try please?
I'm not asking too much, just try and see if you have the same problem as myself.
5 minutes...
Thanks
Try deleting the apps data and cache in settings. Do the same to google framework
