How to change LCD display DPI settings (display resolution) - Omnia II General

Hi All,
Wanted to share with you all on how to change the Display DPI settings.
What it does..? It provides you with more space on your screen and may also help you play HD games which requires more resolution.
There are a few apps in the market which will do the same job.. but still this is free & the easiest way to do it.
1. Open Root Explorer
2. Navigate to System folder
3. Open the file name build.prop
4. Scroll down and under 'Additional_build_properties' look for the line ro.sf.lcd_density = 240
The default value for the LCD density is 240, you may change it 200
Then press menu key and click on Save or Save & exit. It will create another build.prop file in system folder.
Reboot phone and your done..!
Njoy..!

I'm trying to change my screen resolution to 800×480.. (some apps require screen resolution 800 480)..!!!
I have control for changing dpi values, but how do I know which dpi value is for 800*400..??
Hopefully you understand

Not sure which DPI value will be equivalent to 800 * 480 resolution.

360 Launcher
Here is a video for 360 launcher running with above DPI settings.. So far I've found this launcher to be the smoothest launcher on our Android ported device.

wouldn't it make your phone screen setting not fit?

[Q] Change Font Size

Is it possible?
There is no option in Settings for Accessibility, and there is no option for changing on screen fonts size.
Is there a hack or a soft which can do this for me?
I am with rooted device (possibly because on su command I can not do almost nothing and it says permission denied on every file).
Is there a font setting file like on most NIX platforms?

Change LCD Density without the app

Hey Guys,
So if you want to change the LCD density on your Gen8 (tested on the 70, should work on others but changes, as ever, are done at your own risk) without using the LCD Density Changer app then this is how...
I have had to do this as even with the Root +rw on file system, the LCD density changer changes didn't stick (probably OK for the others)
You will need to use the +rw file system mod as documented here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=930197
(thanks Chulri!!)
Anyhoo... to business.
All you need to do for this is to add the following line into /system/build.prop:
ro.sf.lcd_density=XXX
Using rootexplorer was the easiest for me, I copied the file to dropbox, made the change on my computer and then recopied back into /system - note, if you use root explorer, make sure /system is mounted as RW, not RO
You will be able to abd push the file though if you don't want to use dropbox, but I couldn't find my cable when I did this
Reboot.
For some reason after changing lcd density, inputting text in landscape makes the whole textbox fill the screen,
Anyone else have that problem?
oi oi oi whats all this then?!

If it has, the I apologise, but I struggled to find it without using the LCD density changer app

[Q] Default font density

Anyone tried changing DPI?

Using a file system manager I had a look at the build.prop. I found the DPI to be set at 240.
Has anyone tried a different DPI?
