Greeting.
I m facing a weird problem when I forward/reply email from Gmail, so I wanna know if there are some others have the same problem?
The issue is I have no problem with receive/send emails in the correct form in Gmail. However, if I want to forward/reply, it seems all normal too, but the recipient(s) get a mail that looks like it's totally wrong coded. The whole contents of the mail are just a big mess.
Fx people get a mail, which is forwarded from me, start with:
=?utf-8?Q?skal_stemme...?=
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary="Apple-Mail-2-313089272"
--Apple-Mail-2-313089272
Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8"
Don't have this issue on exchange or hotmail.
My HD2 is running XBmod v2.1 and with SP1.
Anybody else with same problem?
Regards
Eric
Update: just find out that the issue is Apple-related. Mails from an Apple machine like Mac or Iphone and so on will cause that issue on my HD2 running XBmod v2.1 with SP1.

Hello,
thank you very much for bringing this up here.
I just tested it and it seems that there is a 57 characters limit for the subject line. If the subject line exceeds 57 characters (including prefixes like Re: and spaces), the e-mail will be garbled (i.e. be sent as source code). If the line of the subject line is exactly 57 characters or less, the error does not occur.
That is a very stupid bug, and it appears that it still exists in Windows Phone 8.
Kind regards,
DAC324
Dear DAC324:
I must say I am surprised that my topic is getting a reply just now. However, thank you for finding out what the problem is. But I am much more surprised that the very same problem as you said still exists in WP8.
Otherwise have a very good day
Eric

Hi Guys,
This is my first post as I usually never have any problems sorting my issues out due to this great forum.
I am using HTC Touch HD (Originally UK Orange now flashed with [ROM][WWE][22.08.2009] Miri WM 6.5 23017 :: MANILA 2.5 :: REV 7.1
My problem is discribed here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=471267
I sync my calendar and contacts with gmail and basically it is clear that when adding contacts to the favourites screen this causes an error. The error is the one described in the other thread.
"There has been a change on your server that requries you to re-synchronize all items on your device. You may lose changes since your last successful sync"
I have tried all the things suggested in the previous thread and have also tried using NuevaSync but again I still get the same error message.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there a registry setting to disable the field that the favourites screen is using and syncing with?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Keep up the good work everyone!
since this is your first post, we'll cut you some slack. your best bet for finding a solution (if you haven't done so already) is to post your issue/concern/problem in Miri's ROM thread. he is very good about responding to users and reported issues. hope you get your issue resolved.
haha thanks for cutting me some slack. Last night I flashed with Duttys HD Leo R4 and this problem still occurs under exactly the same conditions.
So it would now be pointless to post in MIRI's rom thread as this isn't only happening on his ROM.
Any other suggestions or a point in the right direction would be good?
Cheers

is it pointless to ask? the ROMs have similar functionality, but come from different components. i'd still ask if could be fixed with a registry edit and/or if he knows why the problem occurs. the worst you'll get is a NO. your choice.
haha good point. I have done some more searching and know that when you add a contact to the favourites tab it creates a field in the contactdatabase called HTCFavorite. Obviously Google don't have this field which is what is causing the problem. The only solution would be to somehow stop activesync from syncing this field. Does anyone know if its possible to select which fields are sync'd during an activesync? Potentially a registry setting or xml file?
I had this problem and after some hunting around found it was most likely to be caused by an interaction between Active-sync and Pocket Outlook, I stopped syncing the Email with active-sync over two months ago and have not had it happen since (previously had it happen twice over three days)
Not a complete solution since you loose the Active-sync email, but stopped having to have a complete re-sync and lose the contacts/HTC Favorites connection all the time.
After messing about last night I created a group in my google contacts called HTC Favorite. I then assigned contacts one by one to this group in the order I want them to appear. After about 10 syncs these appear on my device and no server changes error to report as of yet. While this is not ideal it has certainly worked but I may remove the partnership until this issue is resolved if ever!
Thanks for all your help

cool! looks like "dan [was] on it" and found a solution that others may benefit from! i'll remember to "get-dan-on-it" next time i have an issue! cheers!
Dear you,
First of all, i hope this is the right section. Since i'm talking about an issue i found on latest builds, i suppose it is. Moderators feels free to change section if necessary.
I've flashed yesterday my Touch HD trying 3 rom (all 2307x branch) and found always the same issue: when syncing to exchange 2010 everything works but SMSSync.
No way, the sms app seems broken, not only regarding SMSSend button but either SMSSync through EAS (well actually some of them don't even have the SMS native message app).
Everything worked correctly with previous rom (21xxx), i was able to sync and sending messages both from OWA and OL2010.
Can anyone confirm there are issues with the SMS? Any idea on how to solve that?
I know SMSSync through EAS is something pretty new, i'm just stressing that.
NB: I'm using Exchange 2010 RTM, and was working with 21000 branch, this means no issues server side.
cant be much help, but damn - didnt know 2010 RTM'd! i thought it was due in in the next week or 2.
either way - i've heard it's pretty good.
on a more helpful note - have you checked Technet? im sure theres gonna be plenty more people who are in a situation to test SMSsync than on here...
HTC Messaging problem
Stupid HTC. They've released HTC Messaging without even knowing what they were doing..
Actually HTC Messaging Application uses it's own service to deliver/receive SMS in manila 2.5. What's wrong? Well, defaults messaging app from windows mobile is needed as default's sms/MMS provider to deliver SMS to exchange server. Using 3rd parties providers completely removes functionality. I don't know how it works in depth, i'm not a WinMO guru, however after applying zenkinz 1.2 patch, all NEW messages started to correctly sync with exchange 2010. Since only new messages started syncing i belive the winmo default SMS Service writes somewhere what is in need to sync when a message arrives or is sent.
This is a shame: i thought from the first 2307x built the messaging app was completely broken, but it wasn't Microsoft's fault but HTC's!!! I spent a whole weekend about it!!!
Argumentative note: they've released the HTC Messaging along with WinMo 6.5 update: this means they're cutting out SMSSync feature from the beginning. I'm thinking to all those poor IT Pros which are buying an HTC to test sync functionalities. They will end up with an headache.
Please note: Zenkinz patch addresses SMS only. Applying this patch disables MMS functionalities.
You can find Zenkinz patch here (i hope cross posting is allowed this case):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=556614
Please, can any mod to put a [Solved] tag?
Thanks.
EDIT:
@veehexx: Unfortunately there was no technet to help me, i suppose it's an unsupported scenario. After all, i don't think it was microsoft intention to have it's SMS App completely rewritten by HTC!
I had to use a man-in-the-middle (better service in the middle, LOL) approach to understand winMo side activesync hadn't any knowledge of SMS received/sent.
Oh yes, this is really something I could slap HTC's face for.
How could they replace WM's text messaging and disabling SMSSync with exchange 2010??
I recently bought a HTC HD mini which has WM 6.5.3 and it was impossible to sync SMS until I used Zenyee 1.2 patch. Plus I had to install ArcSoft MMS. Otherwise no MMS could be send/received anymore after the patch.
It works now, but it doesn't feel clean. When I click on a text message in Manila it still opens HTC Messaging to view it. Only if I click on Inbox it goes to Outlook.
Despite all the good work that HTC has done for WM; with HTC Messaging they just overstated the case...
are u using Exchange Active Sync in wireless?
I've found another problem with SMS Sync, any rom, even clean one.
Sending SMS from Outlook or OWA just works 2-3 times before AS process on windows mobile hangs on sync. Soft reset is needed which sometimes means double sending SMS.
I've tried almost everything, disable T9, word correction, no way. It just hangs. I suggest to use SMS Sync to keep messages on your inbox only, not using send feature from anywhere but Windows Mobile. To me, it's something with Windows mobile.
just tried to setup our Exchange Server 2010 and my phone with activesync on wireless and it works like a charm
Randolph2000 can you please try sending some SMS from Outlook or owa using 2G/3G connectivity?
Activesync hangs to me after 2-3 SMS.

Not to me.
To someone of your friends. Just to check if it hangs to you either using exchange activesync.

I do. It happens with Pure titanium rom. I'm actually using clean rom by siemenslover, it happened with every build i tried.

So, it would be pointless to write HTC support to fix this...
Anyway, I wrote HTC to include SMS Sync feature on the HD Mini in their HTC Messaging. Let's see what their answer will be.

Guess it's something wrong with some software which come with the rom. Looking on WPsupport forum, there seems to be some issues with predictive text feature, although disabling it won't help at all. I've tweeted the MSExchange Team to have a look. Let's hope something happens.

Hi, did you receive any answer from HTC concerning this?
Are there any updates on this issue? I've the same problem with the latest 1.36 from HTC with Zenyee-Patch
Hi all,
Does anybody else find that address fields (and possibly others I've not noticed) are truncated at 25 characters when syncing with Outlook via HTC Sync?
The field in People is plenty longer and so is teh one in Outlook, but only the first 25 characters come across.
Anybody know a way round?
Cheers!
Sorry for the bounce, just wondering... does the silence mean:
1. Nobody else has this problem
2. Everybody else has this problem and nobody knows how to fix it
3. Nobody else is syncing with Outlook
4. Problem has been thoroughly discussed / solved eslsehwere in the forum?
Cheers!
I am having the same problem. And i could not find a way to solve this.
This is by far the one and only CONS i've discovered about Android
Android <-> Outlook sync is problematic.
Why must they set a limit in the first place???
I am surprised that this issue hasn't gotten more attention. Seriously, there is very little mention of it out there. No one has even attempted to explain the cause of it.
For business addresses, this is a huge obstacle. For example, where I work, between our regular street address, building ID in the complex, and suite number, we're easily over 25 characters... over 40 in fact.
This kind of limitation is absolutely ABSURD!
Hey everybody!
I presume there won't be too many people that will have had experience with the SMS sync feature, so I hope one or two people out there can help me.
I have the problem that everthing is activated, but it only synced the last conversation with my mate (so lets say 2 text messages out of a couple of hundred).
Anyone have an idea how to force exchange to sync ALL the messages?
Using a Touch Pro 2, in case that should help diagnostics move along a bit
Unfortunately i'm having this same issue. I would like to simply recreate the whole SMS/MMC folder in my Exchange box, but havn't found a way to force the behavior. I get the feeling SMS syncing was a last minute thought and not completely fleshed out.
As I said, strange thing is that everything that is coming in on the phone is now being synced...
all the messages prior aren't, with the exception of the 2 sms between me and my mate.
Gotta love Microsoft. Never gets boring....
Has anyone experienced any issues with syncing sms messages on the newer builds of 23xxx? Specifically I've noticed that when I send the messages from Outlook 2010, sometimes (not always) my phone gets really sluggish. The process activesync.exe starts using up tons of CPU usage. I'm currently using a HD2 using Kumar's ROM based on WM 6.5.5 b23569

I can definitely confirm that for my HTC HD Mini. It has a wm6.5.3 stock rom, i had to use Zenyee patch to disable HTC Messaging to get SMS Sync working, because HTC screwed up on that.
And I can confirm, that sending SMS through Outlook 2010 slows down the device and ActiveSync goes up to 98% cpu usage.
Any news on that? A hotfix or something?
Any solutions to this yet? I'm having the same issues + the issue that I can't send sms from Outlook but only from Outlook OWA

you need outlook 2010 to be able to send SMS's from outlook itself, any other version will not work, ive had 2003, 2007 and now 2010, and only 2010 does it.
also ive expirienced my phone being slow and useless when SMS syncing is enabled, its really a pain in the ass.
ive gone through 20 phones in the last 2 months, constantly buying and selling, its getting ridiculous, no 1 phone does everything i want.
all i need is full exchange connectivity (tasks and sms included), mobile office so i can use my spreadsheets, slide out keyboard, 3G, decent camera with flash. its obviously neither android, WM or apple can meet all those requirements.
Hello.
I have researched this problem I came across and still can't find a solution to this.
Some ROMs like Omega and Energy do not sync text messages via ActiveSync even though the option is checked. There was another ROM (Kumars) on which syncing worked but still did not work properly (did not delete text from phone once deleted from outlook).
Has anyone got any ideas, CAB files or Registy Tweaks to fix it? It's not a very serious issue but I don't really make most of my new HD2 without that simple option
Thanks for any help
Is noone able to help me?
txt messages syncing over activesync? syncing to where? not the standard activesync to windows mobile device center, cos that doesnt do txt messages, (at least ive neer seen it)

Clearly your battery pins are bent, or you're not scrolling far enough up the list
I recommend a custom ROM, I think you'll find the "~[FoLgErS]~" series to be right up your alley

"You're holding it wrong"
No. I am talking about syncing text messages (sms) over ActiveSync to an Exchange Server 2010. Is it so funny? It used to work on stock rooms.
Near as I can tell, this feature is not ready for prime time.
In my case, I can create the SMS in Outlook. It gets synced onto my phone, and appears in SMS Sent Items... but it is not actually sent.
Then if on the phone I later create an SMS in the same conversation and send it, that message and the ones that were synced over ActiveSync all get sent out.
I'm running Indie's Omega ROM 2.7.2 but I recall similar issues with stock ROMs. I just don't think this works properly. It could be an issue with the HTC messaging client not behaving exactly like the Microsoft one in some way significant to how the ActiveSync client invokes the SMS client.
Um, and for all you know-it-alls mocking the OPs question about SMS and ActiveSync, well, SUCK IT!
(Just kidding -- this is a relatively recent addition to ActiveSync and probably not a lot of people know about it.)
Well. I must say it worked properly on stock roms. I had no problems sending texts from my outlook and also receiving them was ok. They used to appear in outlook seconds after they arrived to the phone. Now nothing appears and texts dont even get send when sent from outlook. This feature worked in Kumars ROM as far as i remember but it did not in Engergy and Omega ROMs.
Nobody has got any ideas?
As this is the first most of us have heard of this, I doubt you'll get an answer.
I also have this problem. AND it is a "stock ROM". (But its a swedish rom).
But I can sync them to "myphone.micrsoft.com", but I want to sync them to the mailaccount on a Exchange 2010 server.
It's a htc message client issue. If you use the Zenyee Disable HTC messaging 1.2 it works
