"Best" rom for my TF101? - Eee Pad Transformer General

Im playing around with rooting my TF101 right now, heck, i jailbroke my iphone before i knew what the jailbreak would do for me and found alot of uses for it. still learning what i can do with a rooted transformer.
not too new to having different roms, had a nice winmo 6.5 running on a winmo 6.0 cell phone before i got my iphone. i just dont know what roms are best for what yet in android.
what rom(s) would you guys recommend for me when i want maximum customizability and speed out of the device.
thanks!

A custom one. Which one is up to you. Best is to try out several of the different roms and settle with the one you like best.

Good question, just try some out and its up to you what you like.

From my experience , after I tried every single rom
I would say if u want a stock based rom go with Frozen rom
If u want a AOSP rom (which I preferred) go with Megatron

I've seen AOSP a few times in this forum. What's it mean? Android Only x x??? Or am I completely clueless?

Android Open Source Project

im in megatron too, works grate, nevertheless evolver is a grate rom too, but im used to cyanogenmod
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA

I have tried a few ones and the best for me is:
[ROM][AOSP][ICS] Codename Android v1.5.5.3 [100% Dock support]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1534648
the version with no over clocking
After flash this kernel: [KERNEL][4/11/12] TestyMeh ICS 1.0 - OC+SIO+Initd ICS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1568932
No bugs for the moment in 3 weeks.
Frozen rom will be probably the best in the future but it is not mature yet

What is "best" for you may be different than what is best for me.
Still, sportster89's AOKP builds for the TF101 here on XDA has completely revitalized my TF101 compared to how I viewed it with Asus' build on it.

Which ROM is being used widely ?

Lets see how many users are using Custom Rom , Stock Samsung ROM , MIUI or CM7....
Vote at your will.
Using my own custom sammy rom . I like to put my own touch to them lol. CM7 is ok but i find anything AOSP roms have flaws but props to the devs.

Oxygen 2.3.2, or HydrogenMod.
Aosp for me all the way.

To be fair, stock would be the most used rom.

Heh, true that. I guess most people are just using stock roms, maybe with a custom kernel. This phone works fine the way it is actually, there are just some little flaws that can be fixed with a couple of hacks, and some colours which are a bit out place, but we have some nice themes after all.
Aosp roms are blazing fast tho, really unrivaled in terms of smoothness if you wanna play games...the problem with those is that they aren't 100% bug free as the ones i was using on my Desire, so i find it hard to use them as a daily driver for more than a few days every now and then on this particular phone.
Hyperdroid androidmeda with speedmod kernel.

Galnet MIUI ICS builds. Far better than anything else.
stock 2.3.5 PT + juicedefender
thats it
checkk
CheckROM with ICS syndicate theme work perfect for me!
You're going to get a biased result asking on xda, as its where people who like modding go. Most users will not know about xda or bother with custom roms and be using stock

im a little bit confused because i come from nexus one, where the biggest part use CM builds, but here there seems to be a more even distribution among users..... any special reasons?

I prefer Samsung custom roms because they are so freakin smooth. Excellent stock browser, I love TouchWiz and the launcher, superb camera interface, and an awesome video player app.
Hyperdroid all the way-official ROM of the 2012 Olympics.
You guys wants me to add more poll items for Custom Stock ROM ?
I'm trying out omega and liking it so far,
Reason why the large distribution is because really, the phone works as is pretty well. It just needs a few tweaks to get rid of that garbage late night battery full alert and a couple other things. Since most people are looking for stock + tweaks, there's a lot of different tweaks available.
WajkIUI... i hope the spelling is right.. excellent ROM

Best rom guidance

Ok right now I'm using the matrix rom, and is real good on my t-mobile nexus s. The thing is that I know is pretty old and I kbow there are several newer more stable roms out there but wich one ia the best of all? I'm looking for the fastest but not just that but stable if that's not available what would be the fastest and still be super steady and bug free.

Try a few! I tell EVERYONE who asks this question the same thing...
THERE IS **NO** BEST ROM (OR KERNEL)
Different phones behave differently with roms/kernels. Make a nandroid, flash something, and use it for a few days/weeks. Don't like it? Flash something else! Obviously you probably want to start with the jelly bean based roms and go from there. Look at the comments in the threads and base your opinion on what you want to try from what other people have said.
Hope that helps.
Back in the day I tried several infinity and don't remember others they were not stable as matrix is. I tried one of the first ics custom rom don't remember which ones and it was very unreliable. Was it because it was pretty new or all ics roms suck and is better to stay with gingerbread custom roms?

ICS ROMS run great... I was using CM9 up until yesterday when I switched to CM10. Very smooth and good battery even with the stock kernel (referring to CM9)
Closed, no such thing as a "Best" rom.

the best!!

hello
for you guys, whats the best rom for atrix?

whichever one you currently have
Very stable, CM7 (last nightly) !
But you have to test and convince yourself!

Like the others have said, it truly is up to you and that's not being vague, you see people can choose a rom, but then tweak that rom to suit their own preference.
But having said that, the reason why I like using MokeeOS is because of all the roms that I have tried (not many <10), I have found it to be insanely quick to startup and use the camera which is important to me.

No such thing as the best rom. But, I'll throw Th3Bill's CodenameAndroid 3.3.x ports as well as his AOKP ports.

Epsilon Project Final V5 + Webtop 2.3.6
I have tried Many of the ROMs available on this site.I like many different things about each ROM.My favorite is to start with ATT 236.141 debloat it,change the kernel, add my stuff. Everything works on it.If your worried about benchmarks it will score as high as others with blur, webtop, and all docks.
stock blur rooted, unlocked, and debloated
after the ICS drivers, who knows? could be any of the roms, but I will probably pick one that still supports webtop.
I think ROM choice depends on the needs of
Distinct feature of atrix is webtop
So if you want to use webtop or any webtop mods like ubuntop gentop etc you will need blur based rom
I would suggest Nottachtrix ROM
then there are CM7 based ROMs where fingerprint scanner works but you will have to sacrifice webtop
Eg. Mrom/ neutrino Rom
I currently run and would suggest you Mrom but again that is my preference you might like something else
Then there are roms like mokee/joyos/miui
Their major plus point is they all look beautiful and miui/mokee have many beautiful themes
So if you want to have a good looking phone go for them
Hope this helps you understand why people suggest you to try different ROMs and choose on your own..some people can live without webtop some cannot so its upto you to choose what exactly you want
Cheers!

After using CM9 and CM10, going back to any gingerbread based rom is painful. If you can live with the shortcomings (lack of drivers) of CM9/10, they are by far better experiences than CM7 or Stock.
Epinter's CM10 works best for me, u should try it

Best rom for nexus 7

I have had my Nexus since launch and finally rooted and unlocked it. As far as roms, I am on the newest build of Glazed Jellybean, which is great so far. I am just wondering if anyone else can suggest a great, stable rom for me?

There is no such thing as "best". What is best for someone might be crap for others. It is a matter of personal opinion. The proper way is reasd the reviews and try it yourself. As as side note, I use the stock rom on both phone and tablet.
I would recommend Paranoid Android. Its smooth, stable, and it allows you to choose between phone, phablet, and tablet mode for every app.

Yep looking forward to this to. I have been running Siyah Kernel for a couple of weeks and it's great to be able to switch between the stable stock based rom and CM10
Yep same as on the Nexus 7 forums too, looking forward to having 4.2 AOSP on both my Galaxy S3 and Nexus 7:laugh:

Won't take long to CM10-4.2 get released. I guess 4.2 uses the same base and stuff, so won't be a problem. Still, I may stick with Samsung. I love CM10 but not CM10 for i9300. Colors doesn't look good, laggy and a lot of random bugs.
Looking forward to it. Unfortunately cm10 on i9300 is beyond the team's control . If Samsung took their thumbs outta their asses and start releasing the RIGHT source and docs for Xynos, we might actually get somewhere. Its a miracle we've come this far without it.

I see a lot of people comment that Touchwiz ROMs run more smoothly than CM based builds. This is exactly the opposite of my experience. I find the Cyanogen team's work to be second to none, which is remarkable considering they're volunteering their time.

It's freaking me out a bit that my Verizon Galaxy Nexus will get a 4.2 custom ROM before my Nexus 4. WTF?
With the CM vs TW ROM debate, is there one Vanilla ROM that you think proves that theory that they run smoother and faster because I'd love to test it if there is one. I've always also felt that TW runs smoother? Maybe I'm wrong. Is LiquidSmooth a good example?

I think that comment probably did that more than anyone else's. I think it's a perfectly valid part of the discussion. I'm not suggesting we sit here and go back and forth on ROM names. But I'll ask my question in a different way. What is it about the AOSP release that's out there now that isn't working well that will be improved by this 4.2 release? Ultimately, this isn't about one ROM base vs another it's about whether AOSP can be made to work bug-free with the I9300 hardware, isn't it?

I believe it's also to do with what new FEATURES have been added to the new AOSP release and less to do with how much stability it will add (since that is dependent more on Samsung releasing the source than what AOSP has to offer in terms of stability).
Some of us would like to make use of the new features of 4.2 and not have to wait for an official Samsung update.
Having said all this, at the end of the day, that's my point of view and I don't expect everyone to agree.
