Dust accumulated underneath the camera plastic cover - EVO 4G General

Has anyone had dust accumulating underneath the plastic cover for the camera? I realized the other day that I had a significant amount of it.
I took off the plastic cover and cleaned it off. Its better now but I can see the small opening by the plastic cover.
Did anyone have this problem and how did you resolve it?

I'm sure a few people have...the stickyness of it is mostly not sticky anymore and that's why its getting dirty. So you would constantly need to clean it unless you put something to secure and block any dirt out.

Would some sort of glue work?

If want to take it in to Sprint to see if they can fix it you can do that. But I'm nor sure if they do that particular thing. But it won't hurt to ask. Sorry if I'm not too much of a help. Hope all goes well.

I've had em replace several lenses now. But someone I just recently instructed wasn't so lucky. Maybe it's new policy cuz Evo is EOL now.

Removing Cincinnati Bell logo

Has anyone managed to remove the ugly Cincinnati Bell decal logo off their vibrants? If so, how did you go about doing this?
LOL, I've seen that logo and its substantially more obnoxious than any other logo I've seen. I can't remember exactly but I think its up at the top alot like the T-Mobile logo is just ALOT BIGGER(a pic might help maybe?). If it is then I know the Otter Box case covers up that whole section. It will still be there but at least you won't have to look at it anymore. Good luck!
Hi very likely I will be getting Samsung vibrant what do you think of it

lol, Yup thats what I was thinking. I saw one in person once and that was the first thing I noticed, the gawd awful logo!
- have your tried some sort of paint thinner? maybe goo-gone? be careful tho
- seriously google "samsung vibrant otterbox" images, its a great case and it will cover that area completely.
I removed my CB logo with a razor blade and bit of patience.

Meh. It's harmless, and I've barely noticed it was there since I got my phone a couple months ago.
Why risk possibly damaging the phone or the gorilla glass?

Two reasons - the screen protector bubbles around it and two; everyone and their cousin asks you why there's a sticker on the front of your phone.
A co-worker removed his with his fingernail and a CreditCard.

Comes right off
... if you just use a little bit of isopropanol and a kimwipe (or if you don't have that, try using a non-scratch dish sponge)
Guess what it says underneath?!? T-mobile LOL
If it's just a decal, heat it up a little (leave it on your dash) and see if you can't get it off then. Several years ago I owned a small graphics company and we used this stuff called "Vinyl Up" to remove anything with an adhesive. It's very gentle and doesn't eat paint. That said, it's a little expensive in this context.

Squeaking problem ..!!!

Any fix for my battery door squeaking problem ?
its making me sick , please help me !
Mine does that too from time to time. I just press the door closed even more to kinda tighten it up and the noise goes away for a while.
Only other option is ferrying a new door of of eBay, but try tightening it up by closing it tighter first...

hmm..just tightened it up and got some few post-it sticky notes and placed em inside the cover, this has solved the problem temporarily !!
Any ways i will try to get a new cover from ebay!
Same here, that [email protected] is driving me nuts. Have not had that problem on the first SGS that I owned.
Like cover on SGS 4G , I think I'll look it up on ebay. Think it fits.

[Q] Will you be buying a case for your Nexus 4?

I say this because after reading the verge review, Joshua knocked the phone over and the back glass broke.
Well I sure dont want to risk so I will.
Just ordered a Best Skins Ever full body skin, should offer some protection without ruining the look of the phone
Cruzerlite FTW
Maybe if there is one with the flip cover that doesn't add too much bulk otherwise no case. It's too pretty.

Yes I will. Off topic. Anyone know if/where/how to get insurance on this phone?

SquareTrade or something is a popular choice I keep hearing about
I'll make my own protective cover, using double sided adhesive tape, liquid teflon or silicon. Modeling that to just fit Nexus 4's back and adding 1mm to its thinness.
I may get the bumper case

Nope.. I wouldn't have one for my iPhone either if Apple didn't give it to me free of charge.
The glass looks nice apart from the fact that it's a fingerprint magnet.

Nope I never used a cover on my phone, it's make phone super ugly

Yeah, probably a TPU one.
I will most definitely get a Noreve case for it.
Yep, a black rubber one for the back/sides and a clear skin for the screen.
I voted no, but would use a thin clear case if they became available just for scratch protection. I don't care for the TPU cases as they add some bulk.
Will be getting a flip case...
I don't know really, I've never had a glass parts phone, only plastic.
I saw the Verge video too and the crack was pretty annoying since once you see it you can't ignore it.
But then again with screenprotectors and cases the phone gets less comfortable, besides Gorilla Glass 2 is supposed to be really strong and flexible. Once I get the phone and use it for a bit I'll rethink and definitely check out this thread again to see who recommends what cases etc.
Yes, but I'll only use it for the first month or so. After that naked.

Most likely getting a Otterbox here. I've got a baby who loves to reach for small things with bright screens. It's begging for a mishap.
Would a case mess up the wireless charging?

Is it a new install? If so that could be the soapy water solution? Can you tell if it's dust? If it's the solution, you can wrap a credit card in a lint free cloth (microfiber) and squeegee the stuff out as much as you can.

I don't think its soap water...coz im pretty sure i squeeged them out as much as i can...i hope it wont matter much since they're on corners, not on center

It shouldn't matter too much, but you risk of the screen protector to rise up when dried. But try it out. They are XG's so you can get them pretty cheap.
Dude use scotch tape to remove debris.

Sapphire glass camera lens?

I thought this thing was supposed to have a glass camera lens? I was super excited about that when I got the phone because all of my past phones ended up getting scratched camera lenses. Turns out that this lens now has micro scratches just like all the rest. It doesn't have any coating or plastic on it does it? It feels like plastic when I checked to see if it had a lens cover... I'm pretty disappointed with this.
Sapphire doesn't mean unscratchable though.....

Sure, it you handle of lot of diamonds. Sapphire is 9 hardness on the mohs scale. I have a watch with a sapphire crystal and its still as shiny as the day I got it, 6 years later.
U expect the same sapphire quality as ur watch?
Sent from my LG-D800 using XDA Premium HD app
I know it's not "unscratchable" but having micro scratching after day 3 is pretty disappointing. I wonder if there is a coating similar to what's on the gorilla glass?
Man... This is pretty bad. Real scratched up, and I'm gentle on my phone. Is there any cover I can put over it similar to a screen protector?
Mine is scratched to after 3days. Only flaw worth the phone imo.

Sapphire will scratch. Just not as bad as glass.
Scratch free here, but my case keeps the lens lifted off surfaces, not sure if that is a big factor or not.
Using a case I don't see how you could scratch it up, even when I wear a nice watch with sapphire I am careful not to bang into things. Heck I'm always careful not to bump into stuff and hurt myself lol. Seriously tho I know some folks like to go naked with their phones and appreciate the form factor but one downside is its going to get scuffed up. I had a Rado watch once and you couldn't scratch that ceramic, that would be a good material to make a phone shell from.
I got 1 scratch. I don't know how i got it because i baby this phone

I never use screen protectors but I think I'll grab the good one at T-Mobile that they painstakingly put on since I would screw it up, case and that if it manages to get a scratch I'll freak out lol

I'd be surprised if you scratch it if you're even casually nice to your phone. Can't say the same for glass, even special glasses. It'll shatter, but you have to really abuse sapphire to scratch it.
So how do these scratches on the lens affect picture quality?
This is probably obvious but, the phone came with a little plastic disk over the lens. You did peel it off...??

Mine is Verizon, but the disk over the lense was a bugger to get off. I'd think they'd all come with it from the factory. IDK...
Micro scratches do not effect image quality. Unless the scratch is deep enough to refract light, then it doesn't matter.
But if you are really worried about it (ocd) then you can sometimes buff out a scratched lens by using a purified water and alcohol mixture. Dip a microfiber cloth into the solution and buff out lens... then use a dry microfiber cloth to wipe clean.
