After i flashed HCDR.Kernel v4.1, the connection drop randomly when my wildfire try connect to Win7 Access Point(Connectify).
However, issue seems to be gone if i revert back to HCDR.Kernel V3.
I wonder if anyone facing same problem. Is there a way to fix this with V4.1 kernel?
Try v4.2. Although that has the issue of the clock speeds being set at 19 - 768 by default. But, if it boots for you, you can use SetCPU or something to change the clock speeds back to normal.
4.2 changed the Wi Fi Driver over 4.1, so, it should fix the issue.
If it still doesn't, some member modified the kernel so that it is stable and with the new Wi Fi driver. That thread should be there somewhere in the Wildfire Android Development Forum.
unfortunately, kernel v4.2 won't work on DK custom for wifi. kernel v3 is unstable even it booted, wildfire reboot occasionally even if cpu set at 518max.
I found the mod kernel with fixing wifi sleep (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=967746). Yet no luck. Reverting back to original kernel atm.
seems like it is the compatible problem with my connectify host on wifi N mode.
It works fine after it flashed the homemade kernel from HCDR source with N mode disable.
Another issue is the connection drop, should be due wifi sleep issue. It goes away after i use wifi fixer.
So yesterday, after having CM7 loaded for about 2 weeks, my wifi stops working.. After doing a bit of research I discover its a common problem, so I try the various solutions including changing the number of channels and both upgrading & downgrading my radio image, but nothing works.. Somewhere along the line I lost my ClockWorkMod recovery image & being the newbie that I am I decided to go back to the start & follow the process that I initially used to root (the one at unlockr.com), but at the last step, instead of installing the rootedupdate.zip file I decided to try my luck with installing CM7 again, & lo & behold it worked, wifi's working again...
not really sure which step of the root process fixed the issue but if I had to guess I'd say the correct radio image was flashed, maybe someone could properly identify the correct solution...?
My adb logcat session shows that its trying to connect to some network that is unavailable and fails. ı tried to remove the 2nd , 3rd offline networks and it started working.
thanks very much deleting the saved networks worked!! wifi back on

Indeed it works...but only for the first time. As soon as you disable WiFi and enable it once again, the problem is back. So you will have to delete the saved networks one by one, each time you want to connect and in the end you will have no more saved networks left (like me). Now the only "workaround" is to enter the network details every time I want to connect.
Is there still ni working solution for this?
still no WLAN
Having to choose the lesser evil between:
no GPS under CM 7.1 or
no WLAN under CM 7.0.3 I chose the latter.
The antenna works, tethering too, the signal is detected, but logging into a WLAN fails, it keeps scanning over and over. Deleting other networks didn't work.
Any hint?
BTW, I tried 7.2 nightlies... since Market (aka g-Play) is missing there is no real use so far.
Apart from that - CM rules!
I am using both of them right now and it is okay.
Sometimes I won't get any GPS fix and I have to switch it off and on again (or restart the phone in the worst case) to have signal.
CM 7.1 with latest radio (7.13.35.13).

Using cm7.2 last nightly and every thing works just fine! Give it a try!

The radio should be the difference here as it seems that CM > 7.1 don't have GPS bugs anymore.
Update your radio version to newest (7.13.35.13). Everything work fine in CM7.2 for me.
I know it s been a bit but thanks for the info helped alot deleting the random networks while out and about after deleting 3 wifi runs great

i noticed that the wifi signal in CM7 is weaker than the stock froyo , is there any idea 'why' ?! and is it possible to fix that i meat to increase the signal, at home i use wifi router and when i'm 4-5 m off distance the signal is very weak
I've flashed cm9 in a dual boot with cm 7.2 saw a very strange thing. Under cm 7.2 i can connect my defy to my pc trough wifi using a TP-LINK TL-WN721N device, and everithing works great. Now in cm9 i cant connect them, the wifi connection isnt showed in phone's wifi menu but i can see others wifi connections, and even use them, the problem is only with mine, but i repeat, in cm7 all works great..
Someone can give me some help?
Hi,
I noticed that the sound is pretty choppy and "poppy" when playing with the Jellytime 4.2 Build 4, however I found that it seems to depend on the CPU govenor setting, it seems to default to "interactive or On demand" which is not good enough to play quality music as it drop the CPU down to 216MHz so either you can up the minimum CPU freq to about 460MHz or set the CPU govenor to "Userspace" which seems to keep it at about 608MHz. You will then be able to listen to quality music again
HOwever I can't get any sound out of the docking station
BTW I'm posting this here as I can't post to the dev forums till I've posted 10 times
Cheers,
Keith
Hi Keith ,
How did you install Jellytime 4.2 Build 4?
I install dual bootloader V8, download cm-10.1-20130105-UNOFFICIAL-a500.zip.
Where need push this zip file or unzip image to A500?
which directory?
Thanks,
Michael
Hi Michael,
I put the gapps zip file and the a500 zip in root and rebooted to recovery and installed from there by selecting the two zip files, I think you can also put them on the ext sdcard but I never had much success going that route. Don't unzip either file.
Cheers,
Keith

Boot Recovery not success
Flash ROM
Hey Michael,
Looks like you are not able to boot into recovery. Once you boot into recovery you should get an option to flash the two zip files.
Can you confirm your bootloader is working?

Maybe your bootloader is locked
Michael maybe your bootloader is locked''. Try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1675939
Then you can use use acer recovery to install an unlocked bootloader followed by CWM
This is what I had to do because once you install stock ICS, it seems the bootloader gets locked.
Hope that helps

Loosing WiFi is the worst problem about pjsports ROM at the moment
I have installed pjsports Jellytime 4.2 Build 4 a few days ago on my A500. Initially I was enthusiastic, but then I realized some bugs:
- Sound problem (supposedly solved in the new build)
- Keyboard problem (not a worry for me, I use the Swype keyboard)
- Loosing WiFi after the tablet wakes up
The loss of WiFi is the worst and convinced me to go back to ICS 4.03. For some reason the tablet does not display the WiFi networks anymore after it wakes up from sleep - neither my WiFi nor other WiFis in my neighbourhood. Switching on and off WiFi does not help it. Only possibility: reboot.
Leaving WiFi always on (even on sleep) solves the problem partially only and is not what I want anyway. When the tablet then wakes up, it may (or may not) still be connected to my WiFi connection. The neighboring WiFi are also not displayed then.
The ROM by randomblame is still on the Nov 2012 state and has obviously even more problem. So no alternative in sight...
No Wifi Issues
Smoothloader,
Going through the ROM thread, I think different people have different mileage from this ROM. My A500 has no issues with Wifi. It connects everytime and stays connected throughout sleep mode also. I heard some mentions that there may have been two different batches of Iconia's manufactured.
Michael,
Suggest you install the unlocked bootloader and give this a rip. If your Wifi is wonky just go back to a 4.1.2 ROM

What build did you use? Try the latest nightly.
Did you do a full wipe before you installed? You should do a full wipe, if you didn't.
I recommend you wipe cache and dalvik after install as well.

I guess you're right. There must be different batches. I am just on the unhappy side. Currently running civato's Jelly-Bean_4.1.2_CM10-FLEX_v6supercharged_Aroma(22-Nov-2012). I am absolutely happy with this one, which appears to be built mainly on pjsports build as well. I am thus hopeful he can solve the problems for Android 4.2 as well.

Problems seem to persist for some people even with the latest nightly. I still haven't found a straightforward way to backup and restore my entire system to give the new nightly a "spontaneous" try. Always means a lot of effort and I need to use my tablet on a daily basis.

I've installed pssport last version from 3.2.2013 and then I had the described problem with wifi losses.
Using the ROMs before, I had no wifi issues.
After disabling the "WLAN optimisation" checkbox in the settings (should minimize power consumption) it seems to work. No losses anymore
Hope this works for you.
Peter.

Thanks for the hint. Will wait until the ROM has stabilized a little more before I try again. People report problems even with the 9 Feb version.

Hello.
First of all thanks dzo for an amazing ROM Updating to latest version I faced a couple of problems, with wifi. First i had ran ICS 2.0 or so for a long time since that was working great i didn't see the need to update again, but now checking the thread and seeing there's loads of updates and hotfixes i decided to go for it and update to the latest, 5.0 u20 version. I decided to clean-up first, so i reverted back to 2.3.5 official and re-rooted and installed CWM 5.5.0.4, then ICS aurora 5.0 experimental, booted it up to see it was working ( I got to the startup screen, but couldn't press any buttons as the touchscreen was not working, not sure why but i continued updating hoping it would fix) and then rebooted back to CWM, installed 5.0 update 20.. Everything working fine now, except once i try to connect to my WIFI. I insert the password like I would normally, but instead of getting the "connecting... receiving IP" etc. it doesn't say anything. I can just see my WIFI as available but not able to connect to it.
I didn't want to give up so easily, so I re-did everything, now after 5.0 experimental i installed update 2 to see if some of the hotfixes caused the problem. Yes indeed, with update 2 my touchscreen was working just fine and so was WIFI.
So here I am wondering, what could be the cause for not being able to connect to my WIFI and how would I be able to fix it? Or maybe just settle for one of the earlier hotfixes, but I would prefer to sort this thing out.
Thanks.
Got same thing but with me its on every rom.
I think its because of the GB update I did. Maybe it had an WIFI problem the one that I had

Maybe you should just do all wipes again and flash up20 again. If you really want to update, wait for a newer version and try again
Lol... Well i did restore my backup back to 2.3.5 original ROM, then update thru ALL of the updates but no luck.. Then once i was out in shops and found a public WIFI, decided to try to connect, and voilá, it connected... Now back at home i decided to look thru my router settings and switched the mode to 802.11b+g and instantly connected... So i dunno, but now it seems to work.

Had this issue since Dzo changed Aurora's kernel to 3.0.8. I don't know why but after Aurora 3.1 wi-fi can't connect to my network if it's not a b+g or just b. After I understood that the problem is in wi-fi mode on router everything went fine.
Update 21?
