[Q] Wireless-N driver unstable when connect to Win7 AP/connectify? - Wildfire General

After i flashed HCDR.Kernel v4.1, the connection drop randomly when my wildfire try connect to Win7 Access Point(Connectify).
However, issue seems to be gone if i revert back to HCDR.Kernel V3.
I wonder if anyone facing same problem. Is there a way to fix this with V4.1 kernel?

Try v4.2. Although that has the issue of the clock speeds being set at 19 - 768 by default. But, if it boots for you, you can use SetCPU or something to change the clock speeds back to normal.
4.2 changed the Wi Fi Driver over 4.1, so, it should fix the issue.
If it still doesn't, some member modified the kernel so that it is stable and with the new Wi Fi driver. That thread should be there somewhere in the Wildfire Android Development Forum.

unfortunately, kernel v4.2 won't work on DK custom for wifi. kernel v3 is unstable even it booted, wildfire reboot occasionally even if cpu set at 518max.
I found the mod kernel with fixing wifi sleep (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=967746). Yet no luck. Reverting back to original kernel atm.

seems like it is the compatible problem with my connectify host on wifi N mode.
It works fine after it flashed the homemade kernel from HCDR source with N mode disable.
Another issue is the connection drop, should be due wifi sleep issue. It goes away after i use wifi fixer.

[Q] Changed Kernel and wifi won't connect anymore

So I tried to search, but was flooded with the incremental mac address issue instead.
I was using PRJ's desire build and then flashed over to MDJ. Rebooted, and the wifi just wouldn't connect. Wifi works and scans, but won't connect.
I task 29'd. I cleared the SD android folders and reinstalled magdlr. Same thing is happening.
Any solutions? It's driving me mad. I'm on the latest tmous radio.
So you didnt just change kernel you actually changed rom?
If you are having issue with a specific rom you should post in the rom thread or search for the issue in that thread.
I had a wifi issue with MDJ 1.9, I rebooted a couple of times, started and stopped wifi and it fixed itself.
No, I first flashed prj's rom. Then I changed the kernel to MDJ. Wifi stopped working so I figured flashing prj's all over again to restore prj's kernel would work. Nada.

[Q] CM9 wifi problems

I've flashed cm9 in a dual boot with cm 7.2 saw a very strange thing. Under cm 7.2 i can connect my defy to my pc trough wifi using a TP-LINK TL-WN721N device, and everithing works great. Now in cm9 i cant connect them, the wifi connection isnt showed in phone's wifi menu but i can see others wifi connections, and even use them, the problem is only with mine, but i repeat, in cm7 all works great..
Someone can give me some help?

wifi issue

Is there any way i can extract wifi component from one ROM and use it another?
i've installed cyanogenmod 7.2 but can't connect to hidden wifi at work. I don't have access to access point to enable broadcast.
I've tried different ROMs and was able to finally get it to work with DARKSIDE SENSE v4.0 ROM with thederekjay's Kernel. But my phone keeps randomly booting and is really slow compared to cyanogenmod (200 vs 400 free mem).
So I flashed back to cyanogenmod and tried wifi module (bcm4329.ko) from DARKSIDE SENSE v4.0 ROM. But wifi doesn't work, I can't even enable wifi connection.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
That module is compiled for a very particular kernel, i.e. the one it came with. To regain some RAM you could de-sense the ROM and maybe run v6 supercharger to make the OS more aggressive about closing apps.
so I switched back to Darkside snese but my phone keeps randomly rebooting. I've tried flashing the ROM multiple times, clearing cache and formatting partitions. nothing seems to work. I was able to get 3 (of approx 30+ reboots) kernel panic logs: (/proc/last_kmsg )

Can some one look at these logs and see what's causing the reboots.
thanks for the help

Wifi/Settings Crash

Recently Flashed Semaphore Kernel 1.7.1 on my N4 running October 7 Carbon Nightly and everything was working fine until it disconnected from the WiFi and wouldn't reconnect. I attempted to reconnect by going into Settings and settings wouldn't open until showing a message about settings stopped working. Rebooting the device solves the issue until it disconnects again.
Steps I tried to fix it:
I factory reset and flashed the latest nightly and gApps then reflashed the HellsCore kernel.
Everything worked great until this evening the same issue occurred again, I could not access the WiFi settings after it disconnects from the Wifi even after rebooting this time it still wouldn't connect, a dirty flash of the ROM on stock kernel allows the phone to connect to wifi.
Help?

If you are on CM7, this happens. WiFi connects but soon disables although it still shows a working connection.
Check whether you have the correct WiFi drivers installed (there are two, search around for them).
Try updating to the latest baseband for your region.
Work-around: Try "Wifi Reassociate" app. Download it from Play Store. It periodically pings to a specific IP address keeping the WiFi connection alive. If it finds that WiFi is not working, it re-enables it.

those wifi drivers are for stock only
if on cm7 you must use biels kernel if the rom is his base if you want wifi to work
there is nothing wrong with wifi on cm7 as I use it all the time

Yes, I know that.
I always experienced WiFi issue on CM7 on every baseband I tried for my region. Other users from my area too have this issue.
Anyway, I now use a stock-based ROM and have no issues.

Overclocking CPU also results in WiFi issues:sly:
