If you are a Sony Ericsson owner you may be interested in knowing that the upcoming CyanogenMod release will feature support for 10 new devices. This is a joint work between CyanogenMod and the FreeXperia team, which is now also part of the CM development group.

I never understood or tried a MIUI rom. Isn't it based on the iOS? I thought most Android users hate the fruit phones. Isn't that the whole point of Android???

Yes. Unlocked bootloader is necessary to flash CM7 from J/FXP.
This news has been around awhile now ever since the FreeXperia series merged with CM tree on Github. It was only a matter of time before it became "official".

Why do you think it is taking so long to have a stable version of CM7 for Xperia X10? Its brothers and sisters already have theirs (Neo, Ray, Mini, Mini Pro, Play, etc.)

Well I suggest helping J "fxp" in helping making a fully stable working version then. That's why there is a delay because it's waiting to be deemed as "fully stable". It will be the same rom as in on here so join the bug hunt and perhaps think about a slughtly more constructive post next time....

Because CM for that device also made by same person & team. Gosh...J and FXP also human. Just give them more time. By the way FXP43 just released. Go try that Rom and report the bug properly if you want this Rom asap.
And btw, we are not allowed to ask for ETA. Stick to the forum rule. Cheers

This rom is great, but the camera app sucks! No 720p, no zoom in/out, no face detection and more stuff from stock GB camera app. Stock camera app looks much better. It Is Possible to replace CM7 FXP camera with stock GB camera app? Rom is really brilliant, fast, stable and smoothly, but this flaw really pisses me off.

Maybe because SE support for devs wasn't good enough? I've read that Sony provided libs and stuff for fxp team, which is awesome, but i'm afraid it was mostly for the 2011 ones.

LOL! It will. With, hopefully, a rooted ICS image.

bugs so far:-
1. launcher is very poor with onscreen button.
2. Problem with sdcard detection(It can't detect previous sd card content).
3. camera should be much better,atleast option to take monochrome,begetive pictures.
4. problem with gameloft hd games,they aren't running smoothly.
5. more fc s.
6. expecting more enhanced lock sreen and music player.

First of all, this is an alpha release!
Second, any bugs should be posted at the development section. Please only post it where it belongs. This isn't development post.

What's LOL?
FlashTool should update phones with unlocked bootloader to 4.0 once a firmware file is posted here.

My humble opinion is that one should not have any expectations from an alpha ROM. They only gave it to us in order to provide our feedback to SE. And because KalleD (an employee of SE) is following the thread in the Development section, bugs should be posted there, so they can help those involved in the update-making and all of us of course.

Does anyone know of the specific update date.. Everyone is saying it's near the end of may. We are near the end of may and still no update!

Thats cause we do not know the exactly date for the update, sony said end may and beginning of june.

Unlock your bootloader and flash an ICS rom. Better than having the standard crap Sony Ericsson skin ruining the phone.
As an added bonus, all the best games i.e SNES emulators, work
Getting the Play for Android games is a waste of a gamepad........

i thought about this, iwas looking through some roms and i said to my self " should i install a ICS Rom or wait for official update from sony"
when i unlock my bootloader and flash the rom if i want to revert all i have to do is flash custom rom and relock bootloader?

Yeah. Trust me though, the best ICS rom to flash for the Play is AOKP
Now it has theme support so its possibly the best ICS rom in terms of customization

Agreed. No reason for someone to make another thread to the same topic, if need be just use whatever thread is current. OTherwise just wasting space on the forums and it makes it less likely that someone with a real question or thread is not going to be seen unless someone diggs through all the posts.

Xperia S is not on the list either... This is obviously the list of phones that are receiving updates in the current roll out.

Not for now ... this rom is based on AOSP source so no HDMI for now

Yep there will be supper stamina but we have to wait till the Xperia Z2 kernel source is released to get super stamina support
