Before flashing my LG GT540 a few days ago, I backed up /data/misc/wpa_supplicant.conf, which is the file containing the wifi passwords.
Then in these days I noticed that, with every ROM I tested (some 2.1, some 2.2 and some 2.3), if I replace the wpa_supplicant.conf file, the wifi won't work after rebooting.
To get the wifi working again after a reboot I have to remove /data/misc/wpa_supplicant.conf and then turn the wifi on. At this point I can replace again the wpa_supplicant.conf file and everything will work until the next reboot.
How am I supposed to restore the wifi passwords without removing that file at any boot?
Anybody knows the reason of this error? Is there any log file? I couldn't find much from dmesg.

Hi Nobz,
I just wanted to ask you if you could help me, since you managed to restore the phone.apk app on your GTab.
I have rooted mine, installed CWM, Superuser and Terminal Emulator. I have then deleted many system apps but NOT the phone.apk
Suddenly one morning the GTab started showing a popup notice after ending every phone call reporting an error in com.android.phone process and the only option is to Force Close it.
After this the app restarts and I'm able to make and take phone calls, but the bluetooth earpiece does not connect anymore until I reboot the Tab.
Everything else works perfectly and the Tab is now flying with 259MB of free memory.
I even tried wiping everything and restore factory settings but no luck...
So, the questions are:
1. Is the phone.apk corrupted somehow or else?
2. Can I replace it with a new one (if so, how is it done and where can I find a new phone.apk app?)
Any help with this will be greatly appreciated...
Many thanks in advance.
Hi
Bluetooth completely broken. 1 week old rooted through odin stock 4.4.2.
Put a line in script platform.xml in order to read/write to micro sd card (that never happened!). Camera stopped working. Did factory reset. camera still not working,
went to use bluetooth in car and it went craze flashing up message bluetooth not available. Then realised what I had done earlier on re the platform xml script. removed the line dumped camera cache and data, reboot, camera now working no issues but bluetooth completely dead. Every time I try to start bluetooth it says turning on then just stops after a minute. cleared data and cache in bluetooth share and bluetooth test, reboot but still nothing. battery out etc...
Did at one stage import titanium backup from SGS1 i wonder did overwrite a script or something?
Anyway HELP needed please.
thanks

the wifi key recovery app has been showing the wrong wifi passwords even though the phone is still connecting to the wifi networks . ive tried deleting the networks and connecting again but the problem still remains. i have also gone into the data/misc/wifi folder on my root browser and the wpa_supplicant file is showing the passwords incorrectly too. i was wondering does anyone know what has caused this problem and is there a way to fix it. i have tried deleting the wpa_supplicant file and re connecting to the networks. and i have also tried different wifi password recovery apps and the problem still remains.
thanks in advance for any help

You should go to recovery, wipe cache, then do it again if it get fixed
ok I tried with wipe cache, but be still the same.
Ok, here is my little trick. I don't know if it could help. If you have a cwm backup, just restore boot.img partition Or you could flash a custom kernel. your wifi key will be reseted. Because I did it a few times.
Hello,
I just got a brand new G2 (due to broken phone) via the insurance I had on it. The phone accepted the update (VS98026A) right away as it should as planned. I then rooted using Stump Root -- no problem, root verified. I then copied the modded/patched hotspot .apk from my old G2, called "HotspotProvision.apk" to the new phone (same folder, /system/app). I open the hotspot app fine, but when I actually try to turn it on (slide the button to "on") the app crashes, saying com.lge.mobilehotspot.ui has stopped.
Has anyone else experienced this? What can I do?
Oh... Also:
I renamed the two original hotspot files on the new phone, the .apk and the .odex, to ".old" before copying the modded .apk to the new phone.
Wow... am I stupid!
A simple restart of the phone fixed everything
So I'm having this issue where my SM-G950F looses ALL known Networks when Wifi gets toggled.
I installed the update which came on the 21.04 but since I'm rooted I can't recieve OTA Updates anymore
Wlan driver is: Wlan v1.0 Release 1
Is there any fix for this?
Exactly the same issue with root here
I'm also rooted and having the same issue
Still happening .... does noone have a clue how to fix this ?
I've got the very same issue. It's very annoying. Hope someone finds a fix soon.
I'm also on a rooted Samsung S8+.
I think I have the same problem, but only when the WiFi-network has a password. It will remember the networks without password but as soon as I reboot or toggle Wifi it will have forgotten the network and password.
I also noticed the information disappears from the wpa_supplicant.conf-file.
I tried to solve it by:
- Deleting cache and data of google backup transport
- Deleting the DHCP-folder in /data/mics/
- Deleting the network-info in wpa_supplicant.conf
- Setting ro.secure.storage=false to false in BuildProp
- Deleting the ss_data-folder in /efs/
Nothing worked.
I have a Galaxy S8 (SM-G950F), Android 7.0 rooted with Magisk. To make room for Open GApps I had to remove some system-apps.
- Any of you installed Open GApps as well?
- I also noticed I had to enter a bluetooth passkey today. Although I previously connected my phone to my car. Could it be bluetooth is also affected?

I've also rooted with Magisk but I haven't removed any apps/installed GApps.
I've noticed the same with Bluetooth, my Zenwatch3 will ask me to confirm the passkey on my phone before pairing.
Did you by any chance enable 'unified hosts adblock' in Magisk? It was the cause of my problems. Disabled that and it worked.

Hmm interesting...
I've enabled "systemless host" in magisk but I'm using AdAway app rather than the "Unified Hosts Adblock" module.
I'll mess about with these and see if it resolves.
Same issue here on 955f, rooted with magisk, dhcp folder and file changed, systemless host off and still no wifi in memory. Has someone performed wipe to see if the issue has been resolved this way? Thanks
