Well I am pretty sure I brick my asus transformer, my tablet is stuck in a boot loop all i see is the asus screen and all it does is keep refreshing that screen(boot loop). I am unable to get to clockwork or bootloader when i try to make it go into bootloader or clockwork(power Plus up button) it will freeze on the part where you have to hit up to continue. So i am thinking clock work was erased and maybe bootloader Boot loop started after wife hit the over the air update is there anything I can do to get my tablet back to working or is it just a paper weight?
Thanks for help if anyone still reads this forum
to get into recovery is
Vol down plus power
When you see words at top left corner Vol up within 5 sec.
(not Vol up + power button, that put you in APX mode)
I think I try that do you think APX mode will work for me and maybe i can push a rom that way? I will check again when i get home about recovery mode.
Thanks for the answer

If you have a B60 or prior (some B70) you can use nvflash (in APX mode) to restore a ROM.
I have a B50 so it should work but when i went to the link in android development forums it won't let me Download but I will keep trying thanks again for the help I hope this works

Motorola ATRIX 4g phone, and ATT is discharged and the battery during the update.
Now it is switched on, type "Failed to boot Nvflash 0x1000 Entering recovery mode."
APX Nvflash tried to start but windows 7 does not recognize the device manager did not even know.
What should I do? This field may improve through usb?
thank you
depending on where your phone ran out battery it may be a brick, or you may be able to recover it...
Take the battery out and put it back, then hold Volume down and boot the phone. IF you see "fastboot" (Press the up key) and hope you boot into fastboot mode
You can also press down to see if you can get to RSD....
If you can get to these 2 then you can recover your phone...If it gets stuck on starting nvflash and doesn't give you a menu then your phone is bricked.
No, that won´t work as he is stuck with an empty battery and if the phone won´t boot the battery won´t charge. Catch 22
Either charge the battery in your backup Atrix
or search for the "McGyver method", which means sacrificing a USB cable. Oh well...
What's wrong...........

Battery charged 80% of the vol up + power does not respond to the power + vol down to either the Irish problem APX installed but nvflash RCM 0x4 version.
Could not be fixed some way because it would be urgent!
Non-root your phone and locked the bootloader, RSD does not come in!
noob troubleshooting
OK we all have to try read and fail. Atrix 4g with 2.3.6 Unlocked and rom manager, titanium backup attrix 2 boot strap. What I did. did search and found this great reading rom. Followed all the info. Reboot great. Works. OK all but it will not access data other than in wifi. email, browers both say no connection. I have gone back and tried to clear all data and load other ROM. Can't get any of the ROMS. to load. either through update.zip or named.zip. Here's the stupid part. It was a victory ROM v2.0 it was for a samsung captivate. the link brought me across and I didn't look at the top to see if it was a dang attrix. Any idea on which how to get at least the data to work other then the wifi? I can access the recovery mode and it will reload the VictoryROM but nothing else. As F Gump says Stupid is ..as stupid does.
appreciated

I don't understand half of the things you wrote...
If you hold vol down and press power...Does your phone boot and go into fastboot mode? Yes/No (It will say "fastboot" and pressing Vol Down will cycle other options....Then you have to press Vol Up to enter into Fastboot mode)
If it's "NO" then when it does boot do you have any other options besides NvFlash? If yes then you can recover, if no then your phone is bricked.
Victory, and A2 Bootstrap? wont work on a 4G. Either you are in the wrong forum or you have managed to put A2 tools on a 4G, which shouldn't work, and apparently doesnt.
If you can get to CWM, put a copy of CM7 on the sd card, CWM flash it. clear caches. etc.
Hope it helps

If your light is on, and the display is black, you are probably stuck in APX mode. Long press the power button and it should go off.
I would also plug into a charger if I were you, before doing anything else.
You will probably need to NVFlash the bootloader and recovery. If it didn't work well the first time, then you should probably be checking drivers. With the tablet in APX mode (hold pinhole button, press and hold PWR, count to 3 seconds, release PWR, then 1 more second and release pin hole.). Tablet should have black display with lit pwr button.
Plug into USB, and make sure windows recognizes it as a Recovery Device. If not, load the right drivers (I use Google USB Android drivers). Might have to load them manually.
Now, I know you wrote down your UID number somewhere, as you will need it.
I uploaded an old ver3 NVFlash package;
http://www.4shared.com/zip/Lgp9DhiH/NVFLASH_Blackthund3r_3bootload.html
Open a CMD window in the directory you extracted, and type run_all
Make sure you get your tab in APX mode, and windows recognizes it. Then follow the prompts. At the end, if good, it should say "Pass"
It doesn't require USB Debugging. If you can get into APX mode, it may work for you. If not, you might post in the bootloader threads.
Link to converting your UID to SBK is found in the guide you posted earlier.
Good Luck!

IF yr recovery drivers have loaded when you are in apx and yr cpuid is correct
then u may have a tab that has issues with the "bct"... the devs are working on a fix for this....
most of us with this issue rolled back to HC using timmydeans EUU then reflashed the bootloader from there with no probs...go figure???
EDIT: the EUU is for a500 you will not have 3g but its just to get back to HC with - when it comes to flashing the bootloader again be sure to
flash yr chosen ics rom first...
as far as more info take a look at civs b/l or F/R extreme rom threads (last 5-6 pages) - the flash itself should take no more than a minute
or two, i use nvflash as it provides a bit of feedback to you if things aren't quite right
you will need td's EUU link in my sig
and jazzyjames tutorial on how to rollback to HC
you will lose ALL your data not only b/c the EUU wipes it but also
ics system apps dont take kindly to being dragged back to HC so make sure you do a full wipe and format any chance you can
for running a glitch-free ICS

Heck, I e-mailed it to you also earlier.
Well, Dibb's is pretty good on this stuff, so I'll pass it to him. Try his steps. He's pretty good on unbricks also.
For me, it's a bit late. Work tomorrow mate.
Also, make sure you are using a good USB cable. You can't always use phone cables. The newer HTC USB cables work for me. This has been known to make things go wonky.

Hello everyone, i have a Iconia Tab A501 and i can't get it to work.
When i power it up it just hangs on the Acer logo. I can enter in recovery, but any rom (i tried 3 of them) that i try to flash doesn't work. The green android with the rotating 3d-thing is there but after a few seconds it's gone and at his place there is another android with the open belly and the red warning symbol.
I can't flash it because i don't have the cpuid. The bootloader is locked. What can i do?

Sorry if this is a bit late. I'm not sure if this will work for a Iconia A501(I have A500), but you can try a hard reset.
To do this, power off, hold down volume UP(not down like to enter recovery), power up, then toggle the screen lock switch back and forth (I believe you can release the power button while doing this, just keep holding to volume control) This should equate to a factory reset(I've never done it, so I'm not sure). If it doesn't work try it again(apparently it takes a few tries)
Hope this helps!

It doesn't work. It turns on showing the acer logo and hangs.
It's probably done the same as mine, died permanently. Nothing you can do about it. It's most likely that the mmc is broken or has become unsoldered. Sorry but I suspect it's toast.

How long did you wait? It takes some time to boot up first time. If you still have issues you can try force it into APX mode and flash the bootloader and recovery again, then reflash the stock ROM in recovery. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1619913
Or it could be completely dead like zardoz99 says. That would seriously suck.
EDIT:
Read again. Y U HAVE NO CPUID!?

Sorry, being even in APX mode you can't do anything without your CPUID. Sorry, but the only thing I can think of now is to send it in to Acer to repair.

Maybe I should do my research next time Once you got the SBK you should be set to flash:good: Good Luck!
Update: I was able to get it recognized via fastboot and used NRT to flash back to stock under the bootloop option.
Now rooted with factory 5.0.1 !
The way I got it to recognize the tablet was to press the middle part of the volume switch (effectively pressing up AND down volume) and the power button and then the bootloader loaded and I could use fastboot but not adb. I read in another thread about pressing the middle of the sound button. Never heard of that before.
Hopefully someone can help me out.
i updated via abd using the flash all script. Now when it boots up it's stuck on the logo of flying color dots. (yes, I waited 15-20 min at least)
Anyway, now I can boot into fastbboot mode but the computer doesn't recognize it.
If I try to boot into recovery (which I think got corrupted) then I just get the android icon with a red exclamation point.
I have no way to clean anything up cause I can't communicate with it.
Edit: I'm stuck in a boot loop also. If I just let it boot it stays on the logo forever. When I try to turn it off it just reboots to the logo.
If I use the keys to boot to fastboot it just sits there and now I can't even change the option at that point and there's no way to completely shut it down!
Thanks for any assistance you might have.
Pressing both volume buttons and the power button will get you into fastboot mode. It's always the last fallback position and I've never known it to fail. I had the same with a bad flash on Tuesday when trying to solve my wifi problems.
Glad you got it sorted
Thanks.
I was getting to the bootloader screen but couldn't get the PC to see it. I always used to use power/vol down combo to boot into bootloader and didn't even know u could press both vol up and down at the same time.
Or maybe I'm imagining it all.

Hello everybody,
I hope somebody can help me to save my N7 (2012).
I installed TWRP without problems and after that I tried to flash a custom rom - which, for some reasons, didn't work.
After reboot my Nexus is stuck at Google logo with an opened lock at bottom...
I can't get to fastboot because when I power on while pushing VOL - button it just get stuck at the same logo screen.
If I keep power button pressed for about 10s, it shuts down but after a few seconds it boots again just to get stuck again at the logo screen...
The only way to shut it down completely is to keep VOL+ button pressed while pressing the power button.
My Windows 7 computer won't recognize the N7 at all anymore, but when I shut it down completely (Power & VOL+), windows says "Unknown device".
Is my Nexus still to be saved or I can throw it away?
Thank you in advance for each advice.

Hi, Conrad-007...
This is very strange - your Nexus 7 is clearly 'bootable' (sort of), with a functioning bootloader, ie., it's not hardbricked... or you wouldn't be seeing the Google logo.
In the distant past, back when I used to experiment with custom kernels on my Nexus 7, it sometimes required the POWER BUTTON+VOL DOWN buttons be pressed and held down for a good 30 seconds or more, to generate the necessary 'interrupt', and force the device into the bootloader.
My first instinct, is to suggest you may possibly have a problem with your VOL DOWN button, and maybe it's stuck somehow or not making contact.
It also occurred to me, that you might be able to access the bootloader with...
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
...or possibly...
Code:
adb reboot fastboot
...and even...
Code:
adb reboot recovery
But unfortunately, I'm pretty sure you need to be running fully booted Android or booted into a custom recovery (eg., TWRP) before you can issue ADB commands. I haven't tinkered around in this area of Android for a couple of years now, so my memory of the specifics is a little hazy.
Anyhow, here's a fairly comprehensive listing of Nexus 7 button presses/interrupts, which maybe of some use...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37606945#post37606945
--------------------------------
Anyway, just some thoughts that might give you some clues/ideas, that may resolve your problem.
Good luck, and I hope you find something that works.
Rgrds,
Ged.
Thanks Ged for the detailed answer.
Unfortunately it seems that my Nexus is not booting complete (not finishing the booting sequence due to corrupted bootloader?) and so I cannot send to it any adb or fastboot command...
I read in the meantime that holding the VOL up button while powering up the Nexus, it will bring it in the APX mode (whatever this mean) and indeed, my computer recognize it as "APX" device.
I hope at least that this is a good sign and a first step to bring my Nexus back to life... but I have no idea what is the APX mode and what can I do in this mode to attempt to save my device...
Do you (or somebody else) have (has) an advice or tutorial for me concerning this?
Regards,
Conrad
Hi Conrad.
I'm in exactly the same situation (I've mistakenly posted a duplicate thread here https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7/general/bricked-tilapia-t4005149). Let's continue here. So:
1. I spent 4 hours trying all possible button press combinations, including VERY long presses. I didn't notice any APX device or Uknown device connected to Windows. I might have missed it, you gave me hope. I will check again.
2. APX mode enables low level access to the chipset via nVidia tool nvflash. You probably came accross these threads here on xda:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7/general/tutorial-how-to-unbrick-nexus-7-using-t3342364
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2564615
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2455927
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2340237
I haven't so far, as I was not aware of the visibilty of the tablet in Windows. I will check again.
Well, I must have been blind not to have seen all the posts here on xda and everywhere else. I went through the threads and now I know:
1. I can see the tablet in APX mode in Windows. Possibly I could correctly set up the driver.
2. This would be totally useless, since I hadn't backed up necessary blob.
I have a new paperweight
