hey guys i did this method for root the phone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1542956
i could install CM7.2 , white rabbit etc but i tried with cm9 and nothing!
when i reboot it enters on bootmode with 4 errors!
i flashed the cm9 kernel and everything and nothing
what happens?
thank you!
You shouldn't have flashed cm9 kernel as stock gb kernel would have worked just fine.
Go back to your stock ROM with stock kernel and then flash cm9 again without flashing any kernel.
This method worked on my defy+ without any issues.
ohhh okay thank you!
i cant downgrade to my stock rom ,
it can be this one?
DEFYPLUS_U3_4.5.1-134_DFP-231_CEE_ROOTED_No_Signed.sbf
i have now with cm7.2 kernel 2.6.32.9 ge281b6e [email protected] #1

Any stock ROM having Android version 2.3.4 or above will do. But it should have stock GB kernel. In my case I was on 4.5.1-134_DFP-1321 (Asia Retail firmware android 2.3.6) and my kernel version is 2.6.32.9-gbdd614e [email protected]#1
Use 1321...don't flash kernel and install cm9...works fine on my Defy+

If its not working, use Epsy's build.

Hello,
I have installed CM7 for Defy(not plus) in my cellphone perfectly.
So then, I found the CM7 Defy+ nightlys and I'm trying to install it. But when I install the ROM on it and reboot, it stays in the initial logo forever.
Could you help me?
Best regards.
please help
Try another rom, like MUIU or any other rom and see if the start loop is overcome.
Did you wipe the memory after?
If you want to instal defy+ nighties, you first have to flash the gingerbread kernel. (CM9kernel.zip)
So now flash the stock ROM and start again. You probably downgraded to instal three normal defy nightly do you have to flash a defy+ ROM with the same bl nr. After that root instal 2nt... and flash the defy+ nightly (and wipe). If you want to be able to switch, you will have to flash the downgrade sbf again and flash the CM9 kernel. Then you can switch with just flashing the kernel and ROM (sbf wipe)

Do cm7 nightly have these fixes? I'm running nightly now and camera seems ok, but I don't know yet about the battery.
I bought a used defy that had already been flashed and i don't like the rom.
The idea was to downgrade it to its original rom or change to another one directly.
But i couldn't find my CG version, how do i find it?
I have a green defy, which rom can i flash?
Can i do it directly or i have to do the downgrade?
My phone:
- android version: 2.3.7
- System version: MIUI-203160
Thx!
Since you have MIUI I think you got Gingerbread kernal

u have froyo kernel as miui is based on froyo kernel(i think)

Thank you all for answering!
But, i'd like to know if i should do the downgrade or flash other rom directly?
And, what rom should i flash?
Try to flash a Froyo, maybe a deblurred one... If it works, you have a cg4 bootloader. If not, you have a newer bootloader and downgrade is more difficult.
After flashing Froyo, i advise to install CM7. Maybe you like that.
This is my first post, I need your suggestions.
I flashed tezet CM7 and installed the first release of CM10. Later on, I flashed tezet "milestone2-kernel-china-2.3.4-4.5.3.zip" before flashing the updated CM10, and now I am using newest CM10, which released on Sep, 05.
My question is can I flash from CM7 (cm7-120221-1901-NIGHTLY-Milestone2) back to Chinese 2.3.4 or Chinese 2.2 ,both the Bootloader = 2 (not BL=3)?
I found that I can flash CM10 back to the previous CM7, which I think the mentioned CM7 maybe suitable for flashing back to Chinese 2.3.4, BL=2.
Or I only can flash from CM7 back to Chinese 2.3.4, of which the Bootloader = 3?
Much appreciate your suggestion in advance and looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you,
Peter Schneider

Hi Sahil,
Thank you for your suggestion.
Since I flashed the CH-GB kernel to run CM10 (released on Sep, 05) based on Tezet CM7 (cm7-120221-1901-NIGHTLY-Milestone2.zip), and CH-GB kernel is downgradable to Froyo, so I became to understand that why I can flash CM10 back to CM7.
I found it is very interesting, because you suggested "You can't go back directly to CM7 from CM10 as the Froyo kernel is not posted anywhere as a standalone flashable zip." But my phone can do this, yesterday, I flashed CM10 based on CM7 (of course, before flashing CM10, I flashed the Tezet's "milestone2-kernel-china-2.3.4-4.5.3.zip"), and then I flashed from CM10 back to CM7 directly. CM7 worked very well.
So my curiosity is: is because I flashed Chinese 2.2 sbf (Version:2.6.0, BL=2) before flashing CM9 (Alex's) and later CM7 (tezet's), then I can flashed from CM7 to CM10, or from CM10 back to CM7 without any problem?? If it is, can I flash directly from CM7 (downgrade from CM10) to Chinese 2.2 sbf (Version: 2.6.0, BL=2)??
Thanks for your advice.
Best Regards,
Peter
I'm not a 100% sure but may be it's because Tezet's CM7 might be containing the Froyo kernel as part of the flashable zip. And you can flash froyo kernel over CH-GB kernel.
I personally prefer ROMs based on CH-GB kernel as there is no multi-touch bug in CH-GB kernel, so I can't remember much about CM7 by tezet.
Thank you very much for your advice.
I tried before, I can not in official wipe mode (X+power) after flashing CM10, but I can in RSD flash mode. After downgrade from CM10 to CM7, I can both in official wipe mode and RSD flash mode. So I assume back to Chinese 2.2 (version 2.6.0, BL=2) is possible, just not sure. Maybe flash Chinese 2.3.4 (released in September, 2012, which can downgrade back to Chinese 2.2) is more suitable. Just not sure.
I became to understand on this matter: I used Chinese 2.2 (2.6.0) first, then flashed someone`s CM9 (CH.zip), which may haved contained downgradeable CH─GB kernel, so I was able to upgrade to aother Chinese guy`s CM10, which may also contained downgradeable CH-GB kernel, and so I can downgrade to tezet`s CM7 directly, and able to use CM10. I can`t directly upgrade from CM7 to CM10, need flash CH-GB kernel before CM10.
Maybe my assuming is right, just not sure.
Anyone could answer that?
Thank you,
Peter Schneider

You are totally right!
I did the same thing some weeks ago. I was in cm7 and flash cm10, but before I had to flash ch kernel.
I did the same thing when I flashed alex's CM9 (flash ch kernel first).
I believe tezet's cm7 has a froyo kernel inside, instead of cm9 and cm 10 (edit: sahilora already said this, now I saw...lol)

Thanks man!
BTW, would you suggest to flash Chinese 2.2 (version 2.6.0, BL=2) or Chinese 2.3.4 (which can downgrade back to 2.2) directly from CM7 (which downgrade from CM10)?
Thank you for your suggestion!

I prefer Tezet's cm7. He did some improves some days ago (last version 1st. september) and now we have OTA updates...

You don't need to flash any kernel for Defy+. You flashed a BL5 kernel on BL7 Defy+.
Dear Defy+ Professionals,
I consider myself a beginner, but I could always solve everything with your detailed instructions. Till now. I can't find anything which is referring to my problem:
I used my MB526 with Quarx's CM7 versions for 1,5 years, then tried to flash CM10. It crashed after a few days, it got into bootload errors actually I had to flash a new SBF on it. It's details:
System version
45.0.2310.MB526.NonEFIGSRetail.en.EU
Model Number
MB526
Android version
2.3.6
Baseband Version
EPU93_U_00.60.03
Kernel version
[email protected] #1
Build number
4.5.1-134_DFP-231
I would like to get back to the good old CM7 that I used before, I have no problems with rooting and installing CWM Recovery, but when I try to flash the CM7.2, it always end up with bootloader error (I always do the data/cache/Dalvik cache wipes, when it's needed, even formatted the SD card)
Do you have any ideas what should I try? Maybe try to downgrade for a BL5 or BL6 version and then root and flash?
Thanks in advance!
Try using aroma full wiper and fully wipe everything, then try installing. Do not install any kernel after cm7.2 flash.

If you're getting bootloader error, you must be flashing the wrong zip. Use defy plus version since you're on bl7
