I just now checked the price off the HTC Desire HD in the pricewatch from tweakers.net and then cheapest price right now was € 228 excluding shipping.
This makes mine prediction true, that the HTC One V would make the HTC Desire HD even less worth.
I'm happy that I sold it already, I sold mine about 3 a 4 weeks ago for € 180, so I sold it one time, but it also makes me sad to see that the HTC Desire HD dropped so much in price, it isn't even 2 years old.
When I got it the price was still about € 550 and mine HTC Desire HD was 16 months old when I sold it, so it dropped more then 60% in price and that means if you wanna sell it now then you won't get much for it any more.
I knew this would happen too. The One V has near identical specs as the DHD. And the One V is now a lowend device, so who would want to buy a DHD with the same specs as a One V you can get cheaper. Same story with my Desire S, and its only just a year old.

I don't think dualcore is considered lowend, just yet.
Dualcore was highend last year, this year its midend, next year it will probably be tipping towards the lowend side.

quite true and sensation is not only a dual core but wields adreno 220 and with the latest ics drivers it is pretty much one of the fastest phones around after htc one x and s

this question has been asked 100 times, but here we go.
the desire hd is faster, better battery life, and faster development for roms.
Why? its a second generation snapdragon processor and is an actual android device.
the hd2 is dirt cheap compared to the hd desire. I can buy them for around $150 usd where i live. off of contract.
the only pro to the hd2 is that i can run windows phone 7.
however, that being said i have never used the desire (not released in the usa), and i doubt the differences will be large, but they will be there.

Yes it has better battery life. But better doesn't mean it's going to blow your mind. HTC isn't really concerned of the battery, so don't expect iPhone 4 results. Spead yes, but marginal at worst. Personally however, both contain "last years" specs, I'd rather get a G2X, or GS2. The sensation's out of my requirements due to its locked bootloader, along with the atrix.
Desire HD much better! HD2 is a 2009 model.
Yeah, if you're picking between the 2 based only on speed and battery life, then I'd think you should definitely go with the Desire. However as songokussm said, the HD2 is cheap and off contract. I paid a little more for mine($200) since I wasn't patient enough to wait for a good deal after I decided to kick by BH2 to the curb. It's also compatible with tzones (Tmobile) so my unlimited data plan is only $10 a month and that definitely effect my desire for the the HD2 rather than any of the other newer tmobile devices.

I don't think you can go wrong with either device, the hd2 in my opinion is the best looking device and most customizable.but the desire HD is a good looking device and has more ram new processor and all that jazz.

Wow,it is killing you(at least from my point of view),here in where I live,new x10 shouldn't cost you more than around $320...from my rough estimation

And the guys that sell them to yoy dont know squat about them, i always pretent to be clueless about phones just to hear what they says and i get stuff like

And this is the wrong forum. Well the pound is more worth than the euro. It could be that in UK 1 Pound is equal to 1 Euro, because the life there is more expensive.
But I sold mine for € 180 and I don't think you will get much more, maybe 180 Pound?

Well but the offer is only for people in the UK. I got mine for 289 Euros = 241.59 British Pounds Sterling.
So I got myself an nice deal to, although MediaMarkt also had them on offer for 269 Euros = 224.87 British Pounds Sterling, but that is almost one month ago already and they where not in stock according to there website on that moment.
So Saturday I checked it online again and they had them in stock. It suprises me how much cheaper the UK and DE are when it comes down to smartphones, because you have webshops seller in my country who are selling UK models and DE models.
Mine though was also the same, more speed and power and 3D and warranty to ofcourse, but ofcourse I rooted my Evo 3D already.
There are also plenty off custom roms for the Evo 3D. I don't know if you still can get 170 pounds for your DHD, I just barely got € 180.
Guess I wont be getting what I wanted for my DHD then :/ I'm tempted to go get a Evo 3D as well? How much better are they from DHD? like performance, camera etc?

Hey everyone,
I'm considering to buy a new Phone. My current phone is the HTC Desire, which I use for about 2.5 years now.
Would your recommend buying a Nexus 4 now or is it worth waiting for the X-Phone or the next Nexus device? Some sources claim, that we will see those devices around June, after Google's developer conference. I definitely want a pure Google device.
The thing that is holding me back is that it we are about to allot new gen devices in the near future, with the new iteration of specs. (1080p display, Snapdragon 600 and 800...) So it seems to be a good idea to wait another 3 months or so...
What do you think?
Newer technology is always around the corner, you will wait forever if you always wait for the Next Big Thing. How easy will it be to get one of these as-yet-unreleased phones, and how much will they cost?
The N4 is available right now, at a bargain price, and will be a big step up from your Desire ...

I think that all of those devices will be non nexus, bloated, at the mercy of the Manufacturer devices. And for what? More processing power to view your email? The screens may be nice tho. I don't see why you'd need 1080p on a less then 5in screen tho...
After owning this phone three weeks. I can't see going back to a carrier bloated samsung, HTC, or moto phone.
Look at the galaxy nexus, last year's hardware and it's still one of the smoothest and fastest phones because of pure android. The nexus 4 will hold its value too, it's only 349, don't buy the 8gb. You can always sell on ebay if you don't like it and come out even right now and I have a feeling n4 will keep selling on ebay for close to what you pay from Google. The only issues I have with the n4 is the camera is just not as good in poor lighting as my s3 was, other than that it's great. It's the best deal in Tech. Compared to the desire it's going to be ridiculous.

The right time is now OP. As others have said there is ALWAYS a newer phone with more impressive specs around the corner. With that mindset you will be waiting forever. I realize you dont want to buy the nexus 4 now and a few weeks later the next nexus device is announced. eh "such is life" OP
I'm pretty happy with mine. I'm coming from a Bionic.
I still probably will consider the x phone but this is certainly a solid enough device that I won't feel the need to jump ship the day it is released.

I just got mine on Tuesday (ordered Saturday) to replace my Galaxy Nexus - best decision I've made as the higher DPI alone makes it better IMO

For sure! Depending on your country the price tag is different. Here in Brazil it was costing 800 usd (incl taxes) some months ago and now its 600 usd it still somehow expensive but 200 usd off is always welcome, oh and for this price you have the option to pay in 10× of 60 usd, if you pay at once it would be even cheaper like 520 usd with discount.

Don't count on it. You will probably get the 7100 cheaper but the 7105?
Sometimes they cleverly let stock levels diminish, before release of the new model, to a level where demand actually outstrips supply hence higher prices.
Btw as you may guess from my name my previous Phone was an evo. There truly is no comparison between the two.

I paid 540 euros or 535, I forgot, in October of 2012. Right after it's release. It has only dropped 100 euros since then? Wow. Samsung loves to keep their devices up in price.

Look at the SGS2, still costs a hefty penny! Samsung wants you to see that it's not that big of a price difference from the SGS3 and buy that!
Keep an eye out on eBay, I picked up my N7105 for half the rrp price as it was 1 month old in mint condition with receipts.
Sadly, All samsung phone's price drop fast because they keep inventing new things S1 S2 S3 S4 , Note 1, Note 2,Note 3, Everytime they launch a new product, price of the previous model will drop.
I'd guess that note 2 won't drop as much as usual as note 3 is so expensive. ...
And not that much of an upgrade.
