The screen shot is from medium high usage. I'm running SOS X v2.0.9.4, underworld sbc kernel v0.3, umderclocked to 768max, 245min with smartass v2.
I'm looking for software suggestions to highly improve battery life without changing roms. If someone mentions scripts and mods, please explain how to install them. Idk hoe to install viper mod or smurf or anything like that unless I'm told how.
Thank you in advance.

This is my battery life with the same set up as yours

No mod or anything?
The best way I think to conserve battery is to turn off your 3g data when you're not using it. When I was running CM7 with tiamat 4.1 I could easily get 40 hours of battery life without 3g data on. Idk if you're not wanting to make some software changes, flipping off the 3g could save you a significant amount of battery.
Il pass on that lol. Where I live, connection is 0 to 3 bars and no 4g. My 3g is only like 100kb/s of data speed. It barely works with anything data related unless I have WiFi on. No 3g and my phone is screwed without data
What's the point of having no data on your EVO? The best thing you can do is spend a little bit on an extended battery. I've got the pretty much the same setup as you and I'm at 24 hours right now. I got 2 3500 batteries for just over $20

I would highly recommend Juice Defender Pro if you aren't already using it.It does an excellent job of toggling 3g on and off at specific intervals.

try the lionfish kernel... I'm getting about 15-22 hrs of battery life depending on my type of usage...
Try a Senseless ROM, aka mine, Jamie's or Graynodes. Sense takes a lot out of the battery life

Im in a similar situation signal wise and that is a huge culprit for battery drain! Also, try using stock, cpu speeds and voltages and ondemand governor. I can almost assure you will not see a difference if not get better battery life stock, im not convinced by under clocking or under volting. I've tried about everything...

I can't speak for underclocking, but undervolting makes a huge difference, and so does your governor.. Maybe you weren't setting your **** up right? But yeah my suggestion to get the best battery life is to use an aosp ROM, try tiamat out mason kernel (use smart ass v2 governor with mason), and undervolt...

you dont need to spend money on an extended battery that is huge and cant fit in your pocket anymore.
if you undervolt correctly this phone should go around 40 hours on battery, which mine does now. you can undervolt safely -75mV on the Evo 4g.
You can also try an app like BetterBattery Stats. You can get it from this XDA Thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809
You can also buy it from the Google Play store to donate to the dev.
Either way, it will show you which things are sucking down your battery. If it turns out to be your 3G data in a low signal area there isn't much you can do, but if it turns out to be some app or other service you could disable them to get back some battery life.
Good luck!

That's about right for battery life then. I don't think you can do much better.
im convinced the only thing that kernels/roms can help mitigate is usage burn, radio burn (no signal) is going to drain a battery no matter what. I keep my phone on wifi at my house and get great battery life. At work, when the phone is on 3G and not getting any signal the battery dies wicked fast. between 730 and 1030 today my battery dropped from 85% to 25%. Ive also had my battery die in 3 hours flat because of no signal.
yea, I forget where i read it, (i think when i used to go to ppcgeeks forums) but there was actually a lengthy detailed rundown of real world usage of 3G vs wifi, and wifi definately draws less power.

After experimenting I have found out that instead of putting it in airplane mode you could just turn off 3g and it last quite a bit(at work). I only turn it on during break time. Leaving 3g makes me be lucky to leave work in double digit battery power.

I second this. Pretty much don't use 3G, and sure as heck not 4G, if you don't have to. My battery will literally stand for hours at a certain percent with 3G off and screen off. I don't have a WiFi router yet but seriously thinking about getting one just for use when I'm at home.
You should do it! Lol it is good for many things not just the EVO. Ya know laptops iPod touches and stuff lol.

Hello.
I have compiled a few kernels for use with any of the sense based roms out right now. There are 3 choices available, feedback is appreciated. Initial reports from users I have sent these to say they improved their battery life, I have been using #1 for 6 days and confirm better life, though ymmv as usual. Support for NFS and all related config options has been removed, tun support is included. For best results use ondemand governor (default).

Thanks for these! (you helped me out the other day on #thunderbolt channel @ andirc.net).
I personally am ready to sacrifice some performance (quadrant) to get longer battery life so I can keep my 4G on longer!
EDIT: After running this kernel overnight and for the past 12 hours, it is amazing on battery life. My battery was around 70% when I flashed the kernel, now 12 hours later and some usage (gmail non-stop, k9 mail polling every 15 minutes), 20+ apps running in background and up front, webcam widget running and updating every 15 minutes, 4G left on, battery is just now at 40%. Phone is still snappy and feels good. Thanks! I look forward to seeing how long I can go on a fully charged battery.
Gonna try these out

These are amazing. They are obviously not for the uber performance crowd who want their 2.0ghz kernel, however, they have greatly improved my battery life.
That said, i can keep 4g on all day and make it 20+ hours with moderate/heavy use.
Just so everyone knows...this guy is legit and will help you out whenever you need it. I've been running his 1st kernel for awhile now on the nonsense rom tesla coil. Because apparently the kernel (drods) that comes with that one makes your device reboot spontaneously at stock cpu speeds.

Drods kernels have been very solid for me with no reboots.
Been using the 5 slot. Very solid battery with this kernel. Thank you.

had an issue while downloading trying to download the 5 slot from this site. however, utkanos is very helpful on irc and gave me another link that works!
flash #1 earlier today and so far it seems very promising as the most battery efficient kernel yet.
I wanted to post how awesome this kernel has been after a few days now...
Today, after 8 hours of battery use with some internet use, 3G (LTE OFF), and music listening (FM and Local music files)...I still have 30% battery life left!
I used the battery calibration app just to make life easier too!

4g speed
I know "people" claim that their kernel does not effect 4g performance but after 5 consecutive tests on the 'other' one and 5 consecutive tests on the 1228 kernel here, I saw almost 2Mbps faster on this one. Whether it impacts it or not, my eyes do not deceive me. Thanks U.
Just downloaded the first one, running the latest virus rom, will check back in a few to report, thanks for these!
5 slot FL worked for me. Keeping with my 4g belief, the first thing I did was run a speed test. Got 9.93 Mbps. I don't care what others say about their kernels buy I witness theirs to be much slower 4g. The big test will be battery life. I will give feedback tomorrow. Btw I am in Detroit and test went to Chicago.

My battery life blows and it's not for a lack of conditioning or calibration. I know how Li-ION batteries need to be calibrated and that they only last for about 300-500 charges. So I'm basically just kinda getting ****ty battery life.

Well, your issue isn't the Evo itself, it's your personal phone.
I too had a bad battery. Use or no use it lasted for 6 hours max. Said f it! Got extended battery. NOW its a manly man's phone! It's got some girth! Feels like a brick lol. But I'm also a power user. Even so, 17 hours of use on first full charge. Definitely a top mod in my book.

Try an SBC kernel cause battery calibration isn't ur answer. Also its not ur phone its ur kernel and also the governor and oc settings u set on ur phone.
free the dirk
Deck 1.3d. Tiamat 407 SBC. Conservative governor. (Start w 384min and 998max) Play w the values a little. Battery calibration app. V6 (optional). Don't see how it could go wrong. My battery has me in love w my Evo again after almost a year of owning it. Sense is a resource hawg. Until gingersense can figure out how to get the battery life froyo sense had it wont be back on my Evo anytime soon. I lost a t9 dialer going to Aosp...the theme engine makes up for that as mixer looks nice.
No kernel, voltage modification, or ROM is going to change the fact that your battery is bad.
I'm going with what Matty said as you all don't know what I've gone through with this phone. I've gotten all of the mods I was supposed to. I did everything possible I really think it's just a bad battery

Alright guys, ive been hearing different things.. people are getting an upwards of 9 hours of battery from like using texting and that sort of stuff.. stock kernel and rom will give you 5 or 6.. Ive heard some people get 18 hours of use from texting and what not..
Basicly i just want to learn to see what different kernels and set up everyones using and to see how many up hours (like a text or 2 every minute or 2), they get out of it.
Really curious to discover new android things especially battery power with a 4.3 inch screen

Did you do a battery calibration? If so not download free battery calibrator, charge you phone too 100% the which is I think its 4200mah. Install setcpu? Change different governed see what works with your phone. I recommand to try different kernel see what works.

I never believe anyone's claim for 2 days of battery life on a battery of any smartphone.
The most I ever got was at least 8 hours under moderate use with about 40% to spare at the end of the day.
This was achieved using a combination of a froyo rom (myn's twopointtwo) with nets 4.3.4 havs-cfs-more-sbc kernel under-clocked with set cpu and juice defender toggling my mobile data on/off whenever it was needed.
Highest I've personally seen is 18 hours of high use

Not sure if you were asking me or teh, he would be the guy to explain undervolting. I don't use any apps or scripts to uv. Just the setup I posted. Proper battery calibration will probably do the most for improving battery life though.
Btw, I just realized those screenies were not from the Xplod rom. I believe they were from the TN stock, and I would of been running the Chopsuey kernel. Same CPU/governor settings tho.
