I LOVE my Nexus S! Sure its not perfect....I would have gone for a Desire HD if I wanted the "best". I got the Nexus because I wanted to play...and play I have
Never flashed a rom till this phone. Now I am getting obsessed, clockwork makes it so easy! Tried most of them and I am currently on Cyanogen nightlies. I so look forward to seeing these rom's mature (they are so good after only a few weeks already) and I expect we will have our Nexi (plural of Nexus??) outperforming more modern devices.
So yes, I am very happy and massive respect to the clever people who "cook" roms and kernals for the likes of me, and xda for making it accessible
amazing it is just waiting for cyanogen 7 final version

I was using that set-up....and it is awesome, powerful and a bit more edgy than cyanogen, however wifi/browser issues forced me to change for now. But I am obsessed now so changing back will be a pleasure when I can rely on wifi
But bionix is a perfect example of how our nexi will be beasts.....

Complete wipes and fresh flashes.....but no joy.
But it is awesome! The kernal boots in seconds. I am sure they will make a stable version for my delicate device.
If my nexus was a car, Cyanogen is leather seats, neon lights and a spoiler....Bionix/trinity is putting a supercharged V10 under the hood

It's a nice bit of kit as you'd expect from HTC, but for me, the screen is just that little bit too big. Plus we get AMOLED on the lovely Nexus.
And NFC. Not that it's any use at the moment, but better to have the hardware and wait for Google to find something awesome to do with it than to get 6 months down the line and miss it...

I really love this phone and have had it since launch but I'm on number five. I just really have bad luck with these kinds of things or perhaps I'm just really ocd. I thought this last one would be perfect finally but I'm having really bad touch screen issues. The phone randomly goes unresponsive. The back button and pretty much the whole lower half of the phone or left side it you are not in landscape. Its starting and stopping even as I type. I love this phone when it works! I cringe every time I go to best buy because I feel like I'm some kind of hypochondriac but the problems are real! My first had a bad screen flaw and since then its been unresponsive back button like this one (minus the screen unresponsiveness), dim back button, dead pixel, and now this one. I have the black tie protection too. I'm not giving up on the phone but man its so frustrating. Just work without defect dang it!

I can still choose whether I get the Nexus S or the Atrix; a friend in the US buys it tomorrow for me. I was done & dusted on getting the Nexus S (coming from an un-rooted Nexus One) until I took a final look on those specs of the Atrix again. That phone just looks too good on paper to not be good!
Guys, more updates please! Help a guy make up his mind..

Apps opening? - Fastest phone I've own yet...
Lag? - yes. Going from an app like Angry birds to home screen, there's an initial lag. It's annoying. Must be Blurrrrr.
Camera? - Disappointed...iPhone 4 is definitely better.
Let's just say I'm ready to install a custom Rom without all the bloatware and lameBlur. Blur kills the phones IMO.
Not many phones can beat the iphone 4 camera appart from Nokia, but is the camera on the Atrix better than the HTC Desire or nexus s.
Cheers.

Go back to the Nexus S boards then rather than trolling here. You clearly don't have the phone, any anything you state is a matter of opinion, and clearly jealousy since you're on our boards and not yours.
My atrix is fast. I had someinitial lag in the app drawer while using Launcher Pro but it is gone now.

Came from Nexus One. Good upgrade.
Confirmed that with proper account provisioning, unlimited 4G data for $30, and the "phone" apn, upload is either capped by AT&T or HSUPA is disabled on the hardware by AT&T. Tethering plan may increase upload speed but I got no confirmation in this yet.
Otherwise it's an excellent upgrade from the N1.

The phone works great, haven't had any lag at all so far. Only been playing on it for 4 hours though! Launcher Pro works great, I have the 3D settings on and the animations don't lag whatsoever. No complaints with the screen. Only thing that sucks is my Worms game isn't working Something about being an unsupported device.
Man I see you trolling on a ton of threads here and as a Nexus S owner myself you really give us a bad name.

Should note that if you look at the reviews out there, the N1 battery life is crap (compared to the Atrix). Also the Atrix (like most newer Android phones) has a proper multitouch screeen. So you'll notice way better typing input immediately.
I will admit.... it's nice that nucentury is at least starting to use SOME punctuation. Not enough, but it's still an improvement from the first post i've seen from him in his other thread.
Besides.... who would even take the advice of someone who thinks that a gyroscope makes a phone that much better than any other device when it comes to gaming? A gyroscope has the same exact flaw as Microsoft Kinect. It's only logical to be used for a certain genre of games. Anything outside those genres, and it's just a useless addition to the phone.
Everything for me is great thus far. Phone is very snappy using LauncherPro also using Beautiful widgets.

Thanks for the reply! LauncherPro has become essential, it's good to know it enhances the Android experience here too.
Coming from HTC Inspire btw.
Size-Build is awesome imo, perfect screen size, nice and lightweight and does not feel cheap imo.
Yea its superamoled but wtf at the yellowish tint....why did they do this?? My Captivate looked better and this is one of the main selling points for me, is there anything we can do to get it back to the other color temperature? Seriously....
Tried the camera a bit, not impressive at all, neither was the inspire so eh whatever.
Everything is FAST! I love it!
Stock Android!!! Woooh! No Blocking of Apps! Woooh!
Wifi seems a bit slow, it started doing a restore off the bat and downloading all my apps from the inspire and even the background! wow! Really cool feature that I had no Idea about, but some apps installed and then I kept getting a bunch of errors saying "insufficient memory" I guess I gotta do them one by one...
Thats pretty much it, Im satisfied but the screen tint is kinda leaving a bad taste in my mouth, the SuperLCD seemed more sharp and brighter then this and the whites were WHITE and the blacks werent too shabby either, dunno wtf is going on as the Screen on my old captivate was great and I loved it, this is eh...
Really hoping I didnt make the wrong choice here, the Xperia arc I had my eyes on and the only thing it didnt have was a FFC and I can live without it, beyond that I like the looks, bigger screen, lighter weight, on the arc better and sony unlocked the bootloader on their new devices so updates will come regardless, way better camera, I just dont know about this whole screen thing....
i just got mine today, so thought i'd chime in too.
build quality: not cheap imo, the ergonomics dept should pat themselves on the back. feels just right
doesn't feel laggy
sensors problem. compass seems a bit off, and the best gps lock i've had is 10m error after about 60s. i stood outside and waited, no lock. resorted to downloading gps status and downloaded the additional gps data. this seems to be the only way it's locked on. compared to a desire, this is hella slow and crappy for gps.
camera quality, i think for a phone it's good enough. for the ffc, so it's vga, but at what resolution does skype mobile use? what's that? it's not working? oh well. i think vga is fine for video calls. anything else is just additional cost.
about to test with music and haven't put a sim in yet to test the phone.
i bought it for development, so i'm now going to start messing about with it, but the phone feels nice and zippy, but disappointed with the sensors (will be testing outside tomorrow) as i'm looking to do a lot of augmented reality dev.

You can change the bad color by using voodoo control app on the market and finding a kernel that supports it.

crap, sorry about the thanks there
no, i don't have a tint at all - i have a 9020. and no tint. i manually upgraded to 2.3.2 - too scared to update to 2.3.3 yet. i don't have a sim in it, so the ota wasn't registering.
in terms of sound quality, it blows away my ipod touch 1st gen, but then again most of my older cheaper mp3 players do so that in itself isn't saying much! the dynamic range sounds a lot better on this than what was on the desire too.
but still haven't taken the stickers on the phone off yet. need a case!

I wish I could do it without a root, I just cant seem to do the damn root, Im stuck on the drivers part....
We all agree that we love our Galaxy S devices (or we wouldn't read nor post anything in these forums), but also we all have bugs or certain issues that we'd like to know how to fix or have resolved (not just GPS or battery drain issues people) to make it even more useful in our daily life.
I thought this thread could be useful to help each other give solutions or advice on small but relevant functions of our phones.
I'll start with:
- enabling Skype calls over bluetooth headsets
- I'd really like to have a smooth connection between the phone and the official samsung car dock, most of the time it enters car mode but exits immediately after, forcing me to disconnect and reconnect the dock until it stays properly, I'm assuming a background app or service is causing this but I haven't discovered it yet.
- Still on the car dock issue, I find very annoying having to listen to interference through my car speakers when the phone is not playing any media. Anyone know a fix for this? (besides muting the car audio)
That's it for me for now. Your turn people!

Tbh, Im very happy with my SGS atm.
I was getting a bit bored with 2.2 and 2.2.1, but with 2.3.3 I've added a custom theme (with screen off animation) and some awesome flying animations and wow, the phone feels brand new.
Love the free calls to people with Skype and the free "texts" to people with gtalk.
Saves me a lot on the bill.
Never been happier
My SGS is awesome! But it would be just PERFECT if people stopped making useless topics.

There are no current apps that utilize call handling from Phone to Watch so the device is more of a standalone device for now. Plays videos, good camera, touch functionality is good, it got a little bit hot while i was runing ADW launcher so i uninstalled that... stock launcher runs fine. Charges fast - FM radio feature is pretty damn cool however you have to use stock headphone it comes with as antenna, they plug in via micro usb. Overall great build quality... Looks like an HTC One LOL
Looks good

In the video, the person said that the battery will last 1 and 1/2 days. (Not a China dude but I still understand their Singlish)
Btw the battery life is probably the same for other similar smart watches unless they have battery tweaks like the Qualcomm toq and the pebble smart watch which reduces or fully disables touchscreen and colour
Well the battery life i don't know because i haven't killed it yet..... The battery meter goes up and down QUITE a bit though so i can't get a real good read on the battery gauge, which is kind of frustrating...
So far i've rooted and changed the boot animation with rom toolbox pro. I cannot get the stock lock screen clock and launcher to go away tho, even after changing the filenames in /System/App which leaves me boggled. I am running ADW and a large digital clock on my homescreen and would rather unlock to that then the analog clock.
If you guys are interested, i did a quick review of the watch i will upload to youtube tonight and make new thread with video

What are its capabilities as far as connecting to a phone
Short review
I just received mine in the mail and must say, I'm pleasantly surprised. Build quality is excellent. The screen is bright and hires enough to be able to read everything. Wifi is stable and quite good, in contrary top most other China devices I have (mostly JXD). Of course the keyboard is a bit cramped and hitting the right letter is a gamble but the screen is sensitive and it doesn't take a strong touch. The interface is very smooth and responsive. I have installed a few apps which work well. The only thing that keeps crashing is Skype, which is weird as it came with the watch. There seems no way to use Google Now either (it keeps crashing) which is a pity as I don't want to even think about searching with the on-screen keyboard. The loudspeaker is okay (not great). I haven't tried using it to call anyone yet, that will be next on my list. I just noticed that the watch doesn't take micro sim cards. That quite surprising for such a small device. Now I'll have to go out and buy a regular sim card. I'm not a big fan of adapters.

It looks like a nice device I'm torn between buying this watch or just waiting around for the kickstart project Neptune Pine. Which seems to be a much more polished product
I'm also thinking about getting this or the neptune but the Pine looks so big it will make my already small wrists tiny!
I like the idea of the Pine but think I might go for the ZGPAX....

The thing is that its recognized by bluetooth as a phone so there is file transfer capability but not call handling or notification handling until the manufacturer releases an app to provide support for this... I would advise anyone who purchases to try and contact the manufacturer and get this info. Ive been looking a week now for an app in the store but have found nothing.
