Burmese font
Nyanlone, did you get burmese font installed already? Let me know. I can help you.
You need to fix the permissions from root explorer. Just do this:
1- go to /system/fonts and long touch any original rom font (other than the one you copied) until the menu appears.
2- touch permissions
3- note the permissions (!!!DO NOT CHANGE THEM!!!)
4- close the menu and now take a look at the name of your ttf (the one that you copied) to ensure android didn't change its name when you first copied it. This happened once for me.
5- Repeat (1-3) this time on your copied file, this time DO change the permissions to match those noted in 3
5- close everything and reboot.
6- Do let me know if this fixed your problem.

easiest way to install Zawgyi font on Android
Though this thread is a little outdated, I wanna share the easiest way I discovered lately, to install Zawgyi-font on Android.
1. Make sure your phone is rooted. (There are many one-click root applications, I used Universal Androot)
2. Download "Font Changer" app from Android Market.
3. Download Zawgyi font
4. Rename Zawgyi-One.ttf as "DroidSansFallback.ttf" and place it in a folder on SDCard, let's says "sdcard/fonts/DroidSansFallback.ttf"
5. Open "Font Changer" app, click "Advanced" tab. You will see list of current fonts in the system. Click on "DroidSansFallback.ttf", Click "Up", navigate to the folder you saved your font just now (sdcard/fonts) and select your font.
6. Click "Apply".
Now you get Myanmar font on your Android! Hope this help.. Arghh.. xda doesn't allow me to put outside link, but easy to find those apps on market..

Dear Brother
I would like to ask help from you regarding myanmar font. I'm using Note 10.1 2014 Edition LTE Version, SM P605, Android 4.3 now. I always root and replace the ZawgyiOne.ttf with one of the fonts (DroidSans.ttf) under system/fonts folder for all my other previous android phones, Note 1, S2 and S3. Then, I can see myanmar font every where in my phone. I did the same way for my Note 10.1 2014 Edition but it doesn't work. I've tried to replace with DroidSans.ttf, DroidSansFallback.ttf, Roboto-Regular.ttf, GS45_Arab_AndroidOS, DroidSansEthiopic-Regular, DroidSansEthiopic-Regular, DroidSansEthiopic-Regular. But, I can't see myanamr font yet. If I use gmail from web browser, I can see myanmar font but if I open other myanmar website from browser, I can't see myanmar font. I can't also see myanamr font on Gmail app, Facebook app, SMS, Myanmar Keyboards. I've already tried with Zawgyi font softwares from Play store but it doesn't work. Could you kindly help me please? What should I do. Which font should I replace? I attached the system font lists and xml for your kind review.
Thanks you so much,
Aung Thu.

^ thank God I made a nandroid back up right before I did it... Caused the phone to no longer boot, even after wiping caches

Nooo don't use any of the font installer app(s) just yet! most, if not all of them would cause your phone to be stuck in " X " loading animation.
I had to learn it the hard way, lol. ( I forgot to make a nandroid backup beforehand. >_< )
Good to know if you guys find any app that works please let know!
You can install fonts manually in the system/fonts folder but it takes time...
you need to find a font that has all the different font "states" (light, bold,
italic, condensed/ all combinations of these) and should be in .ttf format
*I used the Ubuntu font family*
So here's what you need to do:
1. Make a nandroid ! FIRST !
2. Download your font
3. Use a root browser and find system/fonts
4. Locate the main fonts the system uses (ICS & JB use roboto)
5. Write down all the font state names that begin with roboto (ie roboto-italic)
6. Rename the font states from your downloaded font to the corresponding roboto
font states (ie font-italic to roboto-italic) *Capitalization Matters*
7. Paste all renamed font states in system/fonts
8. Set permissions for each pasted font state (644 / rw-r--r--)
9. Boot into recovery and wipe cache/dalvik & fix permissions
10. Reboot and enjoy!
This method will use your font for most of the text in your phone although
there will be some apps that have their own fonts and/or uses a font from the
system that (currently) cannot be changed.
I want to use zekton font but I think it is just regular. Help
Where did you download ubuntu from?

Thanks!
I used the above above method in my Note's PA 2.99 installation to get my favorite system font (Rehotalko) in. Worked like a charm, and I didn't have to wipe any caches. Also, I did the permissions on the fonts after reboot, using Root Explorer. No hiccoughs at all.
It was a little fiddly editing 12 fonts to match the Roboto set so their properties would be correct (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1952886 ), but it was worth it!:good::laugh:

Deleting Downloaded Fonts?

I downloaded a font from dafont.com, put the file in the downloads folder.....I installed the font and want to delete it out of my downloads folder. However, I can't. It says the file is open in the System.
I tried changing the name of the file, and I tried restarting the system....both no success.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Edit - Actually found out there there are more files doing this, and not just the font file.
To remove an installed font:
Start (or Win) -> "font" -> Enter
It will take a little while to load.
Scroll to or search for the font you want to remove.
Right-click it, and select Delete.

I want to remove the file from my downloads screen....the actual installed font can stay. I've downloaded / installed / deleted the file numerous
times, but this one doesn't seem to go away
Try "Deleting" the font, then copy it to your Fonts directory (under Windows) and "installing" it from there, maybe? I guess I'd assume that the install process would copy it to there instead of just using the current location, but honestly, I've never tried.

How to: -> get more fonts on OREO withou root!

If you want to get mor fonts on OREO ,you can follow this way:
1.) select one ore more of the fonts you want to use here: ->https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/themes/noroot-font-styles-updated-02-09-16-t3453551 and download them to your phone.
2.) rename all files to ...hwt and copy them to internal sd folder themes
3.) tap onto the themes app button to see the option menu and select "text style"
4.) tap onto the font you need and press "apply" (you can’t install them as theme! please use text style option for it!!)
that’s it!
Thanks for this. I'm on Oreo and enabled the system extra fonts via adb. Unlike EMUI5, all I got was 1 more font.
Thanks it's run on PIE :good:
3.) tap onto the themes app button to see the option menu and select "text style"
