Hi, searched and found nothing matching my situation...
I'm trying to follow the guide to change my firmware on my Tab P1000 to European so I can use it as a large phone...
In the first step, I loaded all the requested files to Odin, while in download mode, and hit "Start", the result is not good...
Odin is stuck, all buttons greyed out and the notification box states: SetupConnection.
On the screen of the Tab, there is a very small blue indicator below the yellow construction triangle...
Please tell me the best way to proceed. Can I disconnect, power off and not have done any harm....yet ?
I'm afraid to touch anything....the battery will die if I wait too long though, of course....
So, I'm an idiot replying to my own thread, but I couldn't see where/how to delete it....
I took the plunge, hit the red X in the corner of Odin to close it and took the phone out of download mode by holding down the power button...
Thanks goodness it booted normally after that....
SOrry for the idiot thread, mods, if you see this, please delete it for me....thanks...
In case anyone has the same issue, I figured out WHY Odin froze/failed...
The file I was trying to flash was corrupt.
For some reason I can't figure out, all of the files I tried to download to use to flash my Tab were corrupt. It wasn't till I started using 7z to extract them that I saw I was getting CRC recovery errors. Izarc, another free extraction program wasn't showing any errors upon extraction with the same files...When I used files I downloaded that had SHA1 hash verification figures that I could verify the integrity of the download THEN Odin worked without issue.
Flash it again, that happens to me sometimes

Hello everyone,
Before I get started with my plea for help... Happy New Year. I am a relatively new Android User/Epic Owner. Today I tried doing the DK28 update. I read in several places that if the phone "gets stuck" just pull the battery and restart. Of course, my phone got stuck and so I pulled the battery and attempted to restart the process. However, now when I try to turn on my phone it just goes right into a black screen showing an image...
The images shows a cell phone on the left side, 2 dots, an exclamation mark inside an orange triangle, another 2 dots, and then an image of a PC on the right side. Does anyone have any ideas as to what this could possibly mean?
You need to odin your phone back to stock
It basically means your phone is messed up and you are going to need to use Odin to flash it back into a usable state.
Go to this thread and download the DK28 .tar file:
*OFFICIAL* SPH-D700-DK28-8Gb-REL.tar.md5
then follow the first link in that thread to download the other needed files and follow the instructions posted. If for some reason Odin says the .tar file is invalid, try deleting the .md5 extension off the end of the file and try again.
I'm not sure what type of "bricked" this would be but, I tried to flash my Canadian Fido S4 I337m with a MF3 modem. I did this through Odin Mobile Pro. At first it was all good, it started to restart with a blue android figure. It started to take a really long time and nothing was happening so I decided to turn the phone off. Now the phone won't turn back on and it won't connect to the PC. I have my backup saved on my sd card but I can't get the phone to load at all.
It's currently stuck the battery charging power up screen. I can't post a picture since I haven't posted 10 times apparently... So it's the grey battery icon, the circle in the middle isn't moving whatsoever.
Did a battery pull, tried starting it in safe mode, and tried to restart it in the download mode. All of which have failed.
Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks

The blue android figure is back. Does anyone have any information on how long this little android guy is supposed to be around for?

Download Odin 3.07 for the PC.... you flashed the wrong mode... I believe you flashed a US modem not a Canadian on... suggest NC1 can be found in the forum...
With the phone unplugged, press volume down +home+power if you get a warning, release buttons and press voulme up to go to download mode...
Start Odin.... important... take off auto reboot....
there are instructions on how to properly flash the modem... likely in the same thread you found the file.....
Flash only the modem.bin file inside the folder... do not flash the nonhalos file....
Most instructions sau flash once... reboot to download mode.. flash again....
Basically let me know if you can get to download mode... I tried to google blue android on screen but didn't find anything yet... first I have heard of blue... I have seen green dead ones though....

No, I can't seem to get into download mode. It just keeps heading on to the the blue android. I purchased a dongle jig to get it to download mode on ebay hoping that would work.
Method 1 Odin Mobile
Extract TAR and place modem.bin on Internal or External SD Card
Open mobile Odin (free version works but pro is awesome)
Select modem 2 and find extracted bin file
Press flash firmware button
System will boot to download
Hold power button for 10 seconds if download mode in green comes up.( should be blue)
Odin will install modem files
Done
This is what I was following. It said if it comes up as a blue android it's good.

If you put the modem file on an external sd card.... maybe you could pull the card, put it in a usb reader and put the proper modem.bin file on the card and put it back in the phone and power it up.... see what happens. I am guessing it couldn't finish the process because you have the wrong modem file...... Okay so now I realize you are stuck on the mobile odin logo... (blue guy) search google for how to get out of that or go to the mobile odin thread and ask chainfire... it is his app....
I've got the problem fixed. I re-flashed my whole firmware and managed to get the phone into download mode using a USB Jig. This is for reference if anyone encounters the same problem in the near future.
Thanks for the help and advice though.
Hi
I would really appreciate it if someone could help me with a problem I have, as I think I might have hard bricked my samsung galaxy s4 (i9505)
I was attempting to install clockwork recovery mod and, following some instructions, I downloaded a zip file called CWM_6.0.4.7_Touch_GT-I9505.zip
The instructions I had said to not extract the tar file within this zip but to transfer it to the S4 with odin in the compressed format.
When I first tried to do this I couldnt because odin did not recognise the zip file format. I therefore assumed I needed to transfer across the compressed file and so accessed it directly with odin
This file was called recovery.img
the odin transfer worked ok and it indicated pass when it had fininshed
However when my phone rebooted it presented lots of error messages one after the other saying (app name) has stopped.
I say ok to all these messages and am left with a blank screen.
I then tried to reboot the S4 into recovery by holding power up/home and power on but not see the normal recovery screen.
Instead I see 3 lines of text top left
1- (in blue)
2- (in red) recovery is not seanoroid enforcing
3 - in yellow) set warranty bit : recovery
I googled error message 2 and it was suggested that when I see the threee messages I should release home and power but keep holding the up button to go into recovery mode, but this does not work.
I am suspecting that by flashing this file I have overwritten the original recovery files and so wondered if there is any way I can resolve this probelm
Any help greatly appreciated
Thank you
Tony

You are fine. CWM is highly outdated and shouldn't be used anymore.
Go to TWRP.com and download the latest TWRP. Flash it like you flashed CWM and you will be fine.
download mode
Thanks very much
After my post I remembered that I'd not checked if download mode worked, and it did so managed to restore everything
Can you please let me know with CRW or the program you mentioned if more than one ROM back up can be made because I'm thinking of, if I can, having a custom rom back up and a back up of any new roms I try until I decided what I want to stick with
Regards
Tony

I was about to sell my rooted Note 4, and I did a "reset phone" in the settings menu to wipe the data out , so I can sell it. When the phone turned back I saw on the top left a blue "recovery mode" message and the next is my phone black, and on the middle of the screen appear every 5-8 sec a green android logo with "Installing System update" but just for a second, and goes back to black.
And again, and again...
What a hell happened?I am stuck.. I tried to take the battery out , waited and put it back, than I was holding the volume up+home+power on bottoms to get a recovery mode menu, but it does the same "flashing" screen thing.. Please help me I have a buyer for this phone , really need to fix it!

I downloaded from there , opened a zip file copied to a folder. Took the phone in download mode, Opened Odin, clicked on AP and got the file to point ( not a zip file anymore) and hit start.
My phone shows downloading, and like a line started from the left (light blue , but only very short, and doesn't move anymore.
The pc's latest log shows ID:0/003> NON-HLOS.bin
So is it stopped ? the phone said don't turn off target, i don't want to brick it so what to do?
I had no choice i unplug it, and took out the battery, still not brick I started all over again, and now the latest log is : boot.img but the line still not moving...
binary size shows : 3793.1 mb
Update , 2nd time it was moving further.. passed boot, recovery.img, latest log : system.img.ext4. the blue line moved 1/2" and it is stopped again. I don't know what to do...

No the firmware file is correct qnd i have tested it. What is exatly happening while you flash firmware?
Ok, i used that 2nd file, and was everything perfect! I got a message on Odin : "PASS" the phone turned on, passed a Samsung logo, the T-Mobile screen turned on, and the T mobile song, and stuck on that screen....
this is a file I used a second time , and I stuck now at boot by the T-Mobile logo
N910TUVU2DOK2_N910TTMB2DOK2_N910TUVU2DOK2_HOME.tar.md5
and this file was the one stuck always at the beginning :
N910TUVS2EPG2_N910TTMB2EPG2_N910TUVS2EPG2_HOME.tarmd5
just a note, my Note 4 was rooted and It wasn't a latest firmware , actually probably like 8 months old or at least 6 month old firmware on it.
WORKING!! 100% Working. I just took out a battery , and was waiting a bit, turned it back and working! Thank You guys!!
you shoud have clear cache and data through recovery after that successful flash..
but you didn't

Wipr cache and make factory reset in recovery to get clean system firmware.
Hi. Browsed for ages and always come here for answers.
Here's my problem.
2x S8s. SM-950f.
Updated to most recent software through software update. Both phones were glitchy and crashing and just generally irritating after.
Factory data reset etc. This did not resolve the problems, also led to one of them having issues with FRP (annoying)
Used Odin to try and flash the latest firmware (from sammobile, UK BTU) after flashing both, they reset and powered on. Got stuck at the S8 screen.
Restarted then both were at the "an error occurred during update" screen.
Managed to get back to download screen. Re checked the software and model numbers, even that the bootloader was the correct version etc. All was fine.
Connected to Odin, shows that it is connected, but nothing happens when clicking start.
Now after attempting that, both phones will not power on.
(One will when placed on the wireless charger, but just sticks at S8 screen) and download mode or reset screen can not be accessed. So, not exactly happy. And totally out of ideas
Any suggestions, beyond taking it to a shop to see if anyone can help.
yes .....dont tuch the phones for 24 hours let the battery die ...it will...connect to pc and then try download mode....u may need to press combination for like 1 minute to get to download mode....flash twrp reboot directly into it when odin says successfully .....wipe system data ....dont turn on phone download any custom rom flash and enjoy.....it will trip knox but worth than getting a new board....
Okay, will give that a try.
TWRP?
TWRP install
https://dl.twrp.me/dreamlte/twrp-3.2.3-0-dreamlte.img.tar.html: Download link for twrp SM-G950F (dreamlte)
Just said, wait until your device powers off due battery insufficience. Plug cable and hold at the same moment vol(down)+bixby+power. Then press vol(up) at the warning screen to proceed to odin mode. Let it charging a while like 1 h. Then unplug it and plug it to your pc. In Odin select ap the previous downloaded file. Take your mobile in your hand. With one hand, prepare your fingers to vol(up)+bixby and with the other hand start the flashibg process. Be careful, and take your hand directly from the mouse if you clicked start in odin, and position your one finger to power button, but dont click. If odin start pass, press immidiately the buttons (vol(up)+bixby+power) and let it to start into recovery. If you arrived to recovery, reply to us if not search for help!!!
Good luck

Am I being dumb.
No files appear that Odin will recognise.
Also just shows as "recovery" no .tar or anything
Ignore above. Corrupted download.
Sorted.

Not sure what stage your at and maybe some more useless ideas
1. Trying to flash twrp is kinda of useless if you can't get into your system need oem unlock for that.
2. Have you tried taking out Sim card and SD card and reboot.
3. If you can at least boot try smart switch as it has a emergency recovery option.
4. Trying rebooting in safe mode.
All been attempted
