You need to go into the settings for your network provider. There's a part that'll say access point names.

There are some ftf files for basebands in the forum. You flash them just like a firmware.

Hi, I searched and found nothing, read the wiki and managed to unlock mu former T-mobile TyTN upgraded to WM6 and managed to get the radio ROM upgraded ...so I can read
My (large account) employer uses KPN as carrier and my number has gprs switched on, when I set the GPRS settings to those I can find on the internet I get a message like "the network operator terminated the connection" ...as my employers help desk is next to useless I am trying here to get some guidance in what direction i have to steer the helpdesk people....
ANyone who can please help with KPN GPRS settings for WM6
settings => connections => new modem connection => give it a name => access point name: internet => no login name or password => finish.
That should be all you need to get online.
Here you go, voor alle NL opperators !!! Also works on WM6

thanks will try, sofar no luck with the settings from the first reply......seems that my employer has blocked connnectivity although 1200 tells me gprs should be switched on and I am using those settings.
Employers support is in fact as uselss as an 13th teat on a sow, "we can not help you as this is an non company phone, active sync 4.5 is not scripted and we can not install it" ...as if no newer pda ever will be used

Cab installs exactly the same setting as i posted
btw, after adding settings it's best to shut down and restart device. (w/o it i couldn't get a proper connection on mine)
With new settings, you must always restart your device...
"the answering modem has disconnected"is the message I keep getting......
I'll await the switch to Vodafone .......
the funny thing is that i also get this message when I convert back to T-mobile and the appropriate settings.
The 3G Icon comes up immediately but once I try to connect to the net I get "the answering modem has disconnected"......could it be a radio ROM issue???
Thanks for the wizard tool BTW, works like a charm in recognizing the network and adjusting the settings
same behaviour also occurs with radio ROM 1.41, so I assume there will be some other problem.
Will investigate later with the T mobile sim as everything worked flawlessly in the original setup
Hey Folks!
I have some great problem, and no more idea how to solve it. Unfortunately I changed a running system... I had the Touch 3G for about half a year running perfect with my exchange-account; syncing mails, contacts, calendar and tasks... After I tried some new ROMs of this great forum, I wanted to go back to a original HTC-Rom and downloaded the current version from 4-14-09 (this I didn't had before, for the half year I used the Jade I had the Rom running that was installed by manufacturer.
Now my problem:
I wanted to configure my phone to sync with the exchange-account of my provider. Settings:
serveradress: mailstore.alice-dsl.de
username: [email protected]
Password: ******
Domain: hsn.alice-dsl.net
In the moment I type the "@" of my username, the field of domain gets greyed out and I cannot type there. I contacted the support of HTC to solve my problem and I have to say, great support, they aswered within 8h on a SUNDAY! But they only could tell me, if my username uses an "@", windows mobile 6.1 uses the part after the @ as domain. But I need my phone to use "hsn.alice-dsl.net" and not "alice-dsl.net" as domain. I swear I had this configured this way before the ROM Update. And I don't know how to get the ROM i had pre-installed, unfortunately I made no backup... Maybe the screenshots make you know what I mean THX!!!

I have no solution, only an idea:
Perhaps you can edit the settings in the registry after configuration.
But I do not know the path or if it is possible.
You can search for your user-name or domain in the registry to find the path, for example with the TotalCommander.
Hey
That's what I was thinking about and also asking the HTC-Supporter, if he knows the registry path or the file where this configuration is saved to, but he didn't answer this question... But I didn't know that I can search the registry with this tool, I'll give it a try thanx so far!
The joke it is....neither HTC nor Micro**** can assist me with it either.....& my domain, website & email is hosted by.......
MICROSOFT!!!!!!

I got my hotmail.co.uk to work with Sense, but a complete no go on Nexus FroYo. Worth a try on Sense though.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I got it working on Froyo with this although I had more in depth instructions before I just can't find them used that the second time I set it up though
on your froyo ?! how could you install the new update if its not even released .. or is it :-s
Donalds tip should work, just remember to set pop port to 995, and smtp (outgoing) port to 587. That should do it.

Custom ROMs
Happened to stumble across a more in depth how-to over on OmgAndroid.
Step 1
Go to the Mail application > New Account > Other (POP3/IMAP).
Step 2
Put in your hotmail email and password > Protocol is POP.
Step 3
Pop server is pop3.live.com > Security type is SSL > Server port is 995.
Step 4
Click login required > Username and password is your hotmail email and password.
Step 5
SMTP server is smtp.live.com > Security type is TLS > Server port is 25. Step 6
Pick an account name and put in your name > all done

Hi,
I just this morning installed the Alexandra V 1.3a version on my A501 (thanks Moscow Desire)
I also using the Patched ICS bootloader V8 by Skrilax_CZ (Cheers!).
The problem is with roaming mode. My operator wasn't listed at the orginal apns-conf and I had to input the data myself to get the connecting. Still I'm in constant roaming mode and the connection is a bit on and off.. (see screenshot)

Thanks for the link.
I will check the apn's listing and see what's up. I just modified the APN for one of the other people. Waiting to see if it worked or not.
In "his" case, the old provider was taken over by a newer one, and thus the changes didn't get into the Acer APN-conf.xml
There is a lot of this happening with network providers lately.
Let me take a look at it and I'll get with you later. I may need some more info from you.
MD
EDIT: I checked the worldwide mobile data listings for your provider. They seem like a strange lot.
Even their APN listings, are a bit strange as in the APN "internet.saunalahti". Generally, most APN's are like "internet.beeline.ru" with a domain suffix. And, they have some information missing; Look at beeline for exmple ;
Code:
<apn carrier="BeeLine Internet"
mcc="250"
mnc="99"
apn="internet.beeline.ru"
user="beeline"
password="beeline"
type="default"
/>
<apn carrier="BeeLine MMS"
mcc="250"
mnc="99"
apn="mms.beeline.ru"
user="beeline"
password="beeline"
mmsproxy="192.168.94.23"
mmsport="8080"
mmsc="http://mms/"
type="mms"
/>
<apn carrier="BeeLine WAP"
mcc="250"
mnc="99"
apn="wap.beeline.ru"
user="beeline"
password="beeline"
proxy="192.168.17.1"
port="9201"
type="default"
If you can contact your carrier, and find out exactly what is required to enter (send them the above as an example), I am sure I may be able to modify the APN conf xml, so you won't have to enter it again.
MD
Again to this matter. I had the privilege to root and install a custom romantic to my friends SGS and he chose CM9.
He has the same operator that's roaming in national network. CM9 has a option to allow nation roaming but blocks the data connection aboard.. How difficult it could be to add it to Alex?

Hmmmm.... probably extremely difficult. My guess, and a short term fix, is to download a widget that will do it from the home screen. Might want to check the market and see if they have anything.
Probably would want to search for "international roaming"
EDIT: Make that "roaming control". Seems they have some apps for just what you need.

Since I can't post in the dev thread I'll bring my question here.
I have an S4 on 4.3 mk2 with safestrap 3.7 running Hyperdrive rls12 from here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2520418
I have the wifi, gps, date etc working, but I get an error stating check apn settings cannot receive mms.
I've copied my mms from my stock rom slot and I've triple checked it and they're correct.
i did remember installing ad block plus when stepping through the install for rls12, but I can't find ad block plus and I've read on other threads that ad block plus could be blocking mms.
The rom is working great with the exception of receiving mms and I also think i found a bug where if you try to set the lock screen image touchwiz will crash.
Please let me know if you guys have any info on what I can do.
Thanks.
Just a heads up. I installed the ad blocker too running the same setup and mine works fine. I sent a picture to myself to ping the network. Sent and received. Double check the apn settings and use the original messenger, the other one doesn't work with att. Says so in the installation. I'll post mine. You might be missing a comma or something. Be extra sure...

I'm using TSF right now but I can check in a little bit. I installed the stock launcher not the nodded one with my magazine. Oh and the theme doesn't look cool in the dialer area when you are during a call so I chose stock theme too.

Thanks. I hope I don't have to reinstall the rom to swap to the other touchwiz for gs4.
