No haptic feedback/viberation on my arc after cm7 - Xperia Arc General

Hello gurus,
I am a fairly new user of smartphones(this is my first) but I'm proud that I faced the 0 battery issue and solved it myself with the help of this forum, rooted this phone and unlocked the bootloader as well. felt good and I was very careful.
I also got cm 7 for the arc. Its awesome everything is so much faster quicker but I have no haptic response. Please help if anyone has any information regarding this problem for the arc

Hello,
When I had CM7 recently flashed on my phone, I discovered that CM7 does not dictate vibrations/haptic feedback for texts or notifications.
But try doing this and you might be lucky...
you'll need to go into your text and email apps and adjust the settings within each app. Handcent is a awesome app because it even gives you a "test" option so that you don't have to have to send yourself a msg in order to check if it's working.
your general vibration settings within cm7 may affect these, but you'll still need to enable them within each app before cm7 will control how the phone vibrates between sound, sound+vibration, vibration, and silent.
Check all other haptic feedback settings as well... such as:
--Settings>CyanogenMod settings>Interface>Notification power widget>Haptic Feedback(ON)
--Settings>CyanogenMod settings>Input>Haptic feedback tweaks>Haptic feedback main(ENABLED)
--Settings>Sound>Haptic feedback(ENABLED)
Hopes this works for you.

[Q] NetTalk app

I recently ran across the NetTalk app in the market. It seems like it could be a useful app (especially with our BT capabilities), but every time I attempt to make a call, the app force closes on me. It actually compleats the call to my cell, and then immediate FC.
Has anyone else been able to successfully use this app? Or is there something I could try to get the app not to FC?
I'm running CM7 nightly 39 with Dalingrin's OC kernal.
Thanks in advance and thank you to the CyanogenMod Encore Dev team.
Bump.
So, has anyone had any luck??
the nook does not currently support voice/mic so the app is useless at the moment

i tried this out and it does indeed make a call! It seems like this could become very useful to us. It works now on the motorola xoom according to droid-life.com so perhaps it might work with the nook on honeycomb once AOSP is out? we can always hope! but it does seem to be rather important to get calls working over wifi!
As I said currently no mic on the nook so regardless of the app working you can't talk
Sent from my NookColor using Tapatalk
Not sure about the nook but I have been using this app on my win mo 6.5 , iphone and android and it works brilliant.
Sometimes it does have connectivity issues like all apps, but close and reopen and all is good. Hey a little bit of trouble is worth when it's completely free.
The fact that it actually made a call is what got me excited to begin with, but after some research and reading around the xda nook color forums, I realized that it didn't have mic/voice input drivers as animatechnica pointed out...
Do we know if/when that might be a possibility?
Can we not pair to a bt headset and make calls that way?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Although a by headset will pair, without a mic/voice input driver, it will only play audio out of it. Same with any other computer. If one of the awesome devs on here were able to create one, this little "tablet" of ours wouldn't be lacking much of anything...

[Q] Big music playback issues

I'm very sorry to triple-post it. I do need some help here, and if i couldnt manage to fix this, i'm going to ask for a refund.
I love this phone so much, but i really appreciate music, and if the phone dont fullfill the task, its not of use to me
I just bought this phone and albeit its awesomeness, i've been experiencing some sound issues.
When I listen to music, some of them in random parts just stutter for a fraction of second. Its not much but happens quite a lot and that annoys me. It happens with connected music player and winamp.
I've just formatted the SD card and it still stutters. Swapped my 8gb card with my brother's 2gb one and it keeps stuttering. I'm afraid the problem is the phone...;
I dont know what to do...
Install PowerAMP and check if the problem goes away
Argen2Stone fixed that problem for me. =)
Sent from my Milestone 2 XDA App
Also check whether you've got the latest software update; 2.2 indeed has this issue, they addressed it with 2.2.2
I used to have this problem in the past, and one day I found it in surprise that it fixed itself automaticly, maybe several days before......
And now the only problem for me is that I can't resort my playlists through my stock music player......
Sent from my Milestone 2
Thanks for the responses, guys.
Aragorn, yes, poweramp fixed this.
w0ndersp00n, yes it's on 2.2, how do i update it?
dangpzanco, if upgrading to 2.2 doesnt work, i'll give argen2stone a chance.

Up to now, I have seen only one series of moto's ROM is in system version of 2.2.2. Those ROM are produced for ME722, which is milestone2's Chinese version. And its stock language can be set to English.

Which one would you guys recommend?
Just one more thing, even if I update, the touchscreen bug will not be fixed?
Cause that's a serious issue and if it cant be fixed its better for me to return the cellphone and buy a Galaxy S.
Can you help choose?
Depends on your location (to get a working cellphone signal at your country), but flash 2.2.2 with RSD Lite 4.8+:
Argentina/Movistar is for Latin America.
UK is for Europe.
Or flash Brazil 2.2 and apply Argen2Stone 1.9 (for 2.0 you'll need Argentina/Movistar SBF)
Another thing/offtopic:
I just got Defy's bootmenu working here!
Just unninstall Droid 2 Bootstrapper, delete /system/bin/hijack, logwrapper and rename logwrapper.bin --> logwrapper.
Then install Defy 2nd-init Recovery Installer from Market and follow instructions from the app. (Install the stable)
It is a more elegant way to get into recovery/doing nandroids.
=)

currently, I think that the MILS2_U6_2.2.16 ROM has successfully solved the touching problems, but I still recommend galaxy s, because milestone2's GPU is much more weaker than galaxy s', and motoblur sometimes slows down your system.
Sent from my Milestone 2
Thank you all, guys but I'm going to send it back. Loved the phone but i cant live with this feeling of wrong purchase. Maybe i'll regret my decision later...
I'm going to get a Galaxy S and I wish it doesnt have many problems...
I hope you understand my point.
I've also recently been suffering with a Music playback issue on my Milestone 2. Basically, when I play ANY Song, it will play halfway or a quarter of the way through, and then just stop playing. The Music player will still be in the Notifications Bar, but when clicked just bring me back to the Music Library. I'm downloading this PowerAMP App now, to see if this solves the problem, but I doubt it will.
So can any1 please guide me or give me solution to this plz? Thanks in advance
It actually has solved the problem, surprisingly, so thanks A LOT 2 "AragornPE" for suggestin' this app. Greatly appreciated

Yep. If it doesnt work, try alternatives. PowerAMP is the best!
I actually spoke 2 quickly, 'cause it seemed 2 have worked and solved the problem, but it still does stop Music playback half and quarter of da way through songs. Randomly. Whether the headphones r in or not.
Wondering if any1 else is having da same problem, and how/if they've solved it? My Milestone 2 is rooted by da way, and I'm sure that is da cause of the problem.
Thanks

I didnt have this problem, mine is also rooted, and didnt have this problem with froyo, and neither with the leaked gingerbread. Maybe you have installed an app that is causing some kind of problem with the memory.

ICS: Tips & Tricks

With the popularity of Passion & OneCosmic posts, I'm sure there are a few Tips & Tricks people have found. Please share!!
Tip: Notification bar is accessible from 'lock screen'. No need to unlock to turn on Wi-Fi, BT, 3G, etc. or to read new SMS.
I think this is a great idea.
Let's make sure this is about Tips and Tricks and not "My GPS isn't working" or "Why can't they hear me on the other end of my call".
My tip:
USE YOUR PHONE. Unlock the potential and use it. When we see pix of CPUspy showing Deep Sleep for 20+ hours, sure you are getting great battery life, but you are not using your phone as it should be. They want to be, nay!!, they need to be used, listened to, downloaded on,...then you will truly know what your battery life is like.
In about my phone, tap 4.0.3 really quickly, hen long press the abdroid
sent from the xda app on my android smartphone.
Here's a tip to save some battery power: Settings\More\Airplane mode.
That should do it.

folders at the bottom
I use folders in place of the trebuchet dock apps. that way my homescreen is uncluttered.
Settings >developer options >kill app back button
I use this quite often and missed it from miui.

Well said! I used to be obsessed with battery life and realized I was not enjoying my phone's full features! I bought 2 spares and a wall charger from Ebay and now carry them with me in my car and backpack. I am ENJOYING my phone now! Feels great!
Why would people complain that others cant hear them on the other end? Is that a known problem on ics passion?

Would be nice to know how to disable roaming, not data cause I already know that, just having the ability to have your phone not roam ever, unless you want it to

Bluetooth headset - How to enable auto answer
Hi all,
using passion for quite sometime enjoying all its features, please help me in two issues:
1) While using bluetooth headset, how to enable auto answer option in the phone (Suppose I am unable to touch phone or headset to answer the call)
2) While I am talking to one person using the phone, if I want to access the phonebook, the call goes to hold, and it unholds only I resume the call, in this case what happens that I have to memorise the phone no of any contact to tell the person on call
both these features were well present in my prev ROM, bionix 1.3.1
please help

Thank you for your advice Sir, I will follow this in future. Though I have read regarding this in the initial posts of the thread, I had to ask these simple questions to you learned persons as my post count is not more than 10 and so, I am not able to ask in the passion thread. I do not like to make useless posts in the forum as done by many people.
P.S.: Mods, if you think that this post should be removed you are welcome

[APP][Alpha]SMSFlashNotification

Hey XDA,
I took some time away from another project I'm working on (hopefully will also post that soon) to make this really simple app that will flash your camera's LED light 3 times when you receive an SMS, similar to what the iPhone does.
I've only tested it on my HD2 running CM9 so I can't guarantee it will work for your phone. Reply with what phone and what SMS app you are using, that way I can see about fixing any issues and maybe add compatibility.
This is a side project so don't expect any timely updates with added features but a few things I would like to add:
*Add notification for incoming calls
*Add options for number and duration of flashes
EVO 3d default mms and go sms

Don't see the benefit in that. You could just use Apps like NoLED or https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.greatbytes.activenotifications&hl=de
benefit of BLN is less battery drain
Thanks for the advice. I already gave them a try. Knock2 ist too far removed from a stock like appearance, NoLED has a hughe battery drain and DN has had a known issue with low res icons for several versions on the S4 mini, which is still not fixed.
Besides, the big advantage would be a tighter integration of the functionality with the rom hence potentially lowering battery consumption even further and resolving problems with unlocking the phone, those apps tend to run into.
I am using: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ledblinker.pro&hl=en
I compared it to NoLED and it drains less battery.
Try it
Turns out, we had Active Notifications all along. It can be found in the display settings.
