Those of you running Sense 3.X ROMs are in for a treat.
HTC are doing an Easter Special Weekend, and they have discounted 52 films to just 5p (to rent though ) - Think of it as going to the cinema for 5p Some of the latest films are on show!
Fire up the HTC Watch app, and set up an account.
Some top titles include:
Paranormal Activity 3, Transformers, Hostel, Harry potter, Hangover, Exorcist etc.
Hope you guys found this helpful

Hello. I hope this doesn't break the rules.
I had just some time today. As a happy owner of a PSP, I felt like doing a comparison.
Here is the video with a description of the test in the information test.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiPcRJaOI60
I know the focus is not that good. Is a normal photocamera...not a videocamera, the HD is not a full 720p, since the video was taken at 848 wide pixel. Better than 640x480 though!
The video is new, the option 'watch in HD' will come soon.
Nice work rogermorse, good breakdown!
Had a brief love affair with a PSP, but lasted for one wole holiday three years ago, then it sat in a cupboard ever since (really should have sold it!)
I think the HD is the perfect compromise between screen size and portability - I don't think I could go much bigger, yet still carry it with me everywhere. But I wish it had graphic drivers - it's the one reason I might not stick with HTC for my next phone.
Lastly, can't wait for the release of FPSECE, the PlayStation emulator (hopefully within the next month), to bring out the old Metal Gear Solid/Wipeout/Twisted Metal/Gran Turismo etc
Good job man, thanks ! :d
btw, why is there no graphic drivers for HD?
Initially I made up my mind on getting the Archos 43, but Amazon has the iPod Touch 8GB on sale (sort of) for $215 plus a $15 Amazon gift card thingy. Has anyone used both before and prefer one to the other?
Basically I'm mainly using it as an MP3 players for work, but would like to be able to watch movies and play some games everyone once in awhile.
I had a iTouch (3rd Gen) and switched to the Archos. The main reason is because I like Android so much better than iOS.
Honestly, you'll be able to do so much more with an Archos because of Android. I had an iPhone (basically the same as an iTouch). I had to jailbreak it to make it more functional. I don't think you'll have to do that with the Archos. And I think that all of the Gen8s are able to tether via bluetooth to your cell phone. I don't know if the iTouch can do that.
Not to mention that you won't have to pay for updates from Archos like iTouch users usually have to do. And especially when the gen8s get rooted and we stat getting some custom ROMs, just think of the fun you'll have.
Hope that helps.
Edit: Why don't you buy the Archos and try it. Most stores let you refund within 7 days or so. That should give you enough time to find out whether you like it or not. And of course you can go to an Apple store and play with the iTouch anytime you want.
Thanks for the input I'm leaning quite a bit towards the Archos, but not I'm just waiting patiently for a store to have them in stock. Can't find them anywhere online with them.
don't forget 4.3 screen is much funner than the 3.4 ish of the ipod touch. I have a touch 3rd gen but I use my HD2 on Android and 101 way more..
I used to love my ipod touch, thats until Android went from 1.6 to 2.1 and then 2.2 (they both are what put Android way over the top of iOS for me) honestly
Archos 43 vs Ipod Touch vs 70

What generation is the iPod you are considering? (That may play a factor in how worthwhile the Touch will be for you).
For MP3's there wouldn't be a significant difference, and I would advise you to get the cheaper of the two. However, since you say you'd like to watch movies on it I'd say go with the Archos since it supports (by far) a lot more video formats than the Ipod Touch. As for games it would depend on what type of games you want to play. The Touch has a capacitive screen while the 43 has a resistive screen. In other words the Touch will detect the use of multiple fingers at one time (which some games require) while the 43 is only able to register one touch at a time.
Videos and games were two areas that interested me too when considering what to get (Ipod Touch, Archos 43, or Archos 70). Ultimately I ended up getting the Archos 70 (even though its not as portable as the Touch or the 43) because it had the capacitive screen (useful for games and web browsing), and provides a better video viewing experience than the two smaller units.
+1 on the Archos media capabilities. I just got an Archos 70 and it plays anything I throw at it including 700 MB avi files. It also streams video files very smoothly from a windows 7 box.
I think Nexus Q seems to be interesting. Don't know whether I will buy it.

...if you get it off ebay for $200 w/ free shipping instead of the list price of $300+shipping and tax from the android market. If development takes off (which is looking good so far) you will definitely wish you would have gotten one new in box off of ebay not instead of waiting later. I can't imagine it will be long before people have all kinds of cool stuff running on this thing. Dev's have already got some nice preliminary work tests: launcher's running, netflix, pong, installing and running apps through adb. Good things are ahead.
Currently if you have a jellybean device you can push Google Play music and movies/tv shows as well as youtube. If you only have an ICS phone or tablet you can control it with the help from bobukcat. He has put together a super easy tutorial on how to use the Nexus Q with an ICS device (here) until Google puts out their updated app for everyone down to Gingerbread. With this I can only get Music. I don't own any tv or movies through Google Play so i cannot say if that works...
Being that I already use Google Music for my music it is nice not having to physically connect my tablet/phone to my receiver when i want to listen to music and do other stuff with my device at the same time. Google streams whatever quality your original file was so they will sound the same as the mp3s you have ripped. Last I looked Google's max bitrate supported is 320kbs and 20,000 uploaded songs. I don't think purchased song count towards your song count (someone correct me if I'm wrong).
All in all tthaz777, I'm glad I picked one up. The thing looks fantastic and construction quality is great. It has a satin finish so no nasty finger prints. The visualizations are cool and the boot sequence has a futuristic look. The convenience factor is great. Development possibilities wide open.
**I haven't hooked them up to analogue speakers yet so I cannot attest to how well their "audiophile grade amp" works. Anyone try this yet??

Maybe you have played to this classic game on your childhood at school or have heard about it through a friend and/or relatives.
It's an easy and fun game for two to four players. You can play against other people or against (CPU) machine. Further it includes several modes of play: online, against machine and offline (to play with your friends while you're with them).
Each game consists of a board with a set of dots. Each player must join two straight points to form a line, by turns, so that they have to try to form a square before opponents. When a square is created, it is filled with the color of the player who has formed it. In this way, the objective of the game is to try to fill more squares than the other players to win.
This game includes outstanding features such as:
- The existence of a series of rankings (points, wins, balance) so that each player can see his/her progress in the game.
- The existence of a series of ranges/awards obtained within each classification to be rewarding positive developments in each player.
- The viewing of the top 10 players for each ranking from Square League and the comparative of the player regarding these (if he/she is not within these 10 players) So if you want to have a good time playing and entertain yourself, either with friends or alone, this is your game.
Available for all Android devices.
Enjoy the game!
Hi folks,
I managed to snag a Fire HD 10 64Gb for £66 from Amazon Warehouse in the sale. Its a Christmas present for my daughter to replace her slow Lenovo Tab3 8". I know at £66 for a 10" with 64Gb, its a great price. But i'm now worried that only a quad core and 2Gb RAM is going to be slow like the Lenovo. Can anyone reassure me that its a good bit of kit? She'll use it for Youtube and other streaming mostly but is also into games and other apps. I don't need it to handle top end games and graphics, I just don't want it to be laggy and tedious to use.
Other questions:
- are the cameras any good? They look very low spec (2mp rear and unspecified front) - again don't need to be amazing, but for daughter to record videos and selfies without it looking grainy.
- can it take Google Family Link or does Amazon have an alternative?
Thanks in advance.
You don't mention which one, but based on the "quad core" bit, I'm guessing the 2017 model. It's a solid product, you will NOT find something better for so little money. Of course, if upscale specs are what you want / need, then you should return it immediately and get something from Samsung, Lenovo et al. The screen is very nice compared to other discount tablets (eg the Walmart ones in the USA, the China no-name ones here in South America), and as long as you stick to FHD video (it's quite allergic to 4K), simple games (eg match 3 games as opposed to flight or racing simulators), then it's super enjoyable.
I liberate all the ones I import from everything Amazon and run them with a stock Android look & feel reminiscent of the 2013-2014 Google Nexus 7, albeit with notably more horsepower & a much bigger screen. I was considering posting a full tutorial on how to do this, but I mention the basics here in post #7:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/hd8-hd10/help/amazon-fire-hd-10-2017-how-add-language-t4007211
If you are interested in a full tutorial, I could certainly post one, however you should be completely comfortable following the instructions in the bootloader unlocking / rooting link I mention in that post (the most difficult part because it requires a bit of Linux work). If not, my tutorial would not be much good to you.
Google Family Link should work if you were to do the mod I mention, since the tablet is running full GApps, and maximum amount of Amazon stuff is disabled without breaking necessary functionality (note - Kindle books & Amazon Prime Video will not work after my mods).
The cameras are quite awful, however the front one is sufficient for video chat, and the back one for some basic, but very grainy pics (2 megapixel)
