I was trying to install samsung allshare apk today. I kept the file in system/apps. Then I restarted the tab and it went into a continuous bootloop. I ve tried doing a factory reset from recovery mode. Have tried flashing with odin pc, but to no avail. I am really starting to panic here. A little help will be much appreciated from the esteemed xda members.
Thanks in advance.

OK - so here's how I messed up.
First I flashed CFROOT via odin, that went fine, then I tried to flash GalnetMIUI via the rom manager. That got caught in a boot loop.
So I download my carrier firmware from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113928 and flashed it via odin. But it's still stuck on the animation screen. What can I do ?
Brian
Got it sorted, phew. Need to go into recovery and perform a system restore.
So relieved.
A quick wipe of cache and dalvik would also probably have had the same result.

Hi everyone.
For years I've been coming here finding answers to problems that I've had. It seems I'm finally special enough to have to make a new thread.
Phone: S4 Gt-I9505
Carrier: Vodafone New Zealand
I rooted my phone with cf-autoroot and CWM on the stock 4.2.2 version of android. I then went looking for ROMs and found the leaked (didn't know it was at the time) 4.3 version from google. I installed that and whoopee! We got along well for the first two days, but I restarted my phone on day three and that's where the problem started.
Upon reboot, my phone powered onto the Samsung splash screen, but went no further. Confused, I did a factory recovery in CWM and it still didn't go. I reinstalled the rom and it went again fine, until reboot when it hung on the splash screen again. I tried various roms and fixes and just made a mess of my phone.
Long story short, I now have TWRP on my phone with the abyss 1.3.1F kernel installed and no ROM. Is there any step by step process that someone could give me on how to proceed with TWRP and which ROM/kernel to install to get me up and running again? Not fussy on which rom but one with no bloatware would be excellent. I would be eternally grateful! :fingers-crossed:
Thanks!
Download the latest version which is I9505XXUBMGA either Odin or CWM from here, if you flash via Recovery you need to wipe data & factory reset, cache partition and dalvik cache before flashing but you can flash via Odin
I prefer to use Philz Touch recovery than TWRP

Thank you Crauze, Will try now.
EDIT: That rom is going to take ages to download. I'll update when it's done in a few hours.

Hi, you have touched on an issue I am trying to understand.
Do you only need to wipe you data and caches when you used custom recovery to flash a ROM but not when you use Odin on a PC?

The above answer worked perfectly. Thank you!

I haven't flashed a custom ROM via Odin before but boot into Recovery and wipe data & factory reset, cache partition and dalvik cache and power off device and boot into Download Mode and flash via Odin
•Please take time to read•
So first, I changed into cyanogenmod, it was successful though my sister didn't liked its "style" so I had to restore the stock firmware of jellybean 4.3 (XXUEMJ5_I9505OLBEMJ5_I9505XXUEMJ5_HOME.tar.md5) so i did a factory reset from the cyanogenmod settings and then flashed(it said my root access was lost after factory reset) using ODIN, everything went fine in the process in flashing, after my s4 reset 1st time a droid with a spinning thing on its tummy appears with the loading bar on its bottom and then resets once again I thought it was already good but my s4 was stuck on the SAMSUNG logo the blinking one. And then I downloaded a new stockrom the 4.2.2 (I9505XXUBMG5_I9505OLBBMG1_I9505DXUBMG5_HOME.tar and which was my original firmware the XXUBMG5), tried to flash using ODIN but it failed during the process, I'm about to download a new copy of the 4.2.2 version from the same site i downloaded from maybe it was corrupt?. Please help, me and my friend have done all things like using KIES that doesn't recognize my phone anymore, downloading stock recovery and such non works and so does my recovery mode after I access it, my s4 i9505 immediately restarts by itself after releasing my fingers and a lot of battery pulls. No luck please help me. I'm from the Philippines with an unlocked phone, International so I downloaded the XTE Region correct me if I'm wrong .
Please provide instructions if you have time .
After installation you have done this in the recovery mode wipe data factory reset and wipe cache partition
(can try with custom recovery - wipe and flash again)

Hello,
Please help me out guys
I tried for the 1st time to flash custom recovery TWRP - it worked.
Then, i immediately entered to TWRP and i tried to root my phone installing the supersu.zip. When i rebooted my phone - bootloop
In the end, I reflashed stock rom via ODIN but my phone still gets bootloop at SAMSUNG LOGO(NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE)
PS:If i try to enter stock recovery - first it appears "installing system update", then "no command" and then it enters the stock recovery, but nothing can solve the bootloop problem
please help
1.Why bootloop after rooting with the supersu.zip?Should i use the cfautoroot metod?
2.Why bootloop after reflashing stock rom?Never happened before!!!
Thanks!

J500F....
I think i managed to solve this...I was flashing the 1st update package .tar which was released for the J5 last summer
Flashing that - not working NOW, ALTHOUGH it worked a few months ago
Flashing .tar from SAMFIRMWARE - working!
But what about the root problem? Which way is the proper way to root your J500F 6.0.1 without bootloops&stuff

Nothing works: supersu.zip, cf auto root.zip....
i only get bootloops
After flashing using TWRP you should always clear dalvik cache,
The first boot always take some time, 2-5 min,
Before flashing anything try to do a nandroid backup,
The supersu.zip method worked for me,
There is a detailed thread on xda j5 forum on how to upgrade/downgrade and root your device,
After using Odin to flash a ROM enter recovery and wipe data then wipe cache
Sent from my SM-J500H using XDA Labs
Update:
1. It seems it ONLY works to flash 6.0.1 AFTER flashing 5.1.1.(so i have to always repeat this double procedure)
Reflashing 6.0.1 over 6.0.1 - NOT WORKING
2. About root problem - damn, i still can't make it work. I will try your advices and let you know what happened,
Thanks!

I've seen your PM.
I don't really have any idea. But I have a suggestion, although I don't know if it will solve your problem. Backup your stuff from internal memory before. Try to wipe everything including internal memory (internalsd in TWRP recovery), then turn off your phone and re-flash stock rom.
Hello, @Lawr3nce I followed this tutorial by @rjrulz007 http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j5/how-to/tutorial-upgrade-j5-2015-to-6-0-t3443904 to root my j500h, I downloaded the supersu.zip from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/stable-2016-09-01supersu-v2-78-release-t3452703
Don't forget to backup your data before upgrading (you can use smart switch), after flashing using Odin go to recovery (stock recovery), wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition, this should solve the boot loop problem.
Before flashing the supersu zip file do a nandroid backup using TWRP (boot to TRRP, choose backup, select sdcard as save location then swipe to start backup. In case the flash of zip file failed choose restore and select the backup you did before, better than reflashing the whole ROM using Odin )

Ok, thank you all for the help. Conclusions:
1. For some reason, it NEVER works to flash directly the 6.0.1...I always have to flash the 5.1.1 first, then the 6.0.1.
2. I will try that root procedure from the link .
I am very willing to root it because i want to remove many useless preinstalled bloatwares from my phone
(due to very low free space i can't even update my apps)
UPDATE: That procedure with that .zip WORKS! THANKS
hi, Im actually on crdroid and I need to go back to stock samsung firmware
I downloaded G900FXXS1CPK1_G900FITV1CPJ1_G900FXXU1CPJ1_HOME.tar and I tried to flash using odin
stuck at SAMSUNG logo after rebooting (for a split of a second I can see a dead android with NO COMMAND written before SAMSUNG logo)
go back to recovery /(which is not TWRP anymore) and wiped data and cache. nothing has changed
I now have installed crdroid again but I need to go back to official samsung, somebody can help?
where did you get the tar file from? did it say completed in Odin?
from updato.com and odin sais PASS with green color
EDIT is there, maybe, a custom rom from original samung firmware?
wiping data and cache from recovery not enough, do a factory reset then if still a no go redo odin fw flash

a factory reset is just wiping system, cache and dalvik in essence. I always do a factory reset, wipe cacke, dalvik and system 3x each and delete the android folders if im just flashing a new ROM. Plus, hes doing an Odin flash, so wiping shouldnt be necessary, but deleting the android folders should still be needed

get it from sammobile.com/firmwares. Thats the only real place to get them. everywhere else can have untrusted files
odin does not wipe/reset
in stock recovery iirc theres no wiping data, so reset needs to be done, its solved many fw updates/downgrades issues via either ota or odin.
i usually wipe everything(Dalvik, System, Data, Cache) via twrp b4 flashing w/odin
while I'm downloading from sammobile (sloooooooooow), I'm tring to flash fw again
I'm still getting SAMSUNG logo problem...
tried wiping again cache... nothing
flashed TWRP and did wipe factory reset... again, same issue.
I did a full wipe before flash

the sammobile d/l does take FOREVAAAAR!!! but wait for that to complete and try it. im betting that your other tar.md5 was corrupt
15 minutes to go....
steps I did:
1: via TWRP wiped EVERYTHING
2: connected to PC in download mode and flashed the firmware via ODIN 3.12
3: booted in recovery and wiped data/factory reset and cache partition
4: reboot and...... seems to work fine (feared for a moment, took almost 20 minutes to start apps optimization)
