Just like he said also if your on a custom launcher or even honeycomb settings/display should have a option to lock your screen orientation.

I think he means the screen lock button to the right of the volume button.
If it is switched to the right it has locked the screen in the landscape position.

Judging by the OP's lack of reply, I reckon he just had his lock on and is now well embarrassed.

I think you are correct but we all do dumb things at times.
Some people just need to read the manual to find their answers.

Standard Android lock screen

Hello... now that we have root is their a way to get the stock android lock screen on a sense rom? I tried a flash.zip file from another post on the apps and theme section but it messes up an distorts it self. When i tried a non sense rom it work perfectly. Any way to get this working?

Lock bot is good for a while then it gets annoying when it slows down and one can easily bypass the lock screen.

a few of us have been working on it, we'll let you know if we get it working

Go to Settings -> Language & Input, at the bottom is "Touchpad pointer style". Change to "Mouse cursor mode".
Got my update tonight as well, I could swear it runs faster than before but maybe its just me. Web pages seem to load quicker on the stock browser.
ok I will be the one that asks the stupid question... will we lose root with the update?
received, installed, and watching netflix with no root! awesome! Moore, ok

I tried updating over root and just got the Android "!" image when it reboots to install. Had to force off to turn back on.
Hey, there is a white LED flashing on the dock beside the CAPS key, I veber saw that before.

That happened when I did the Mobile Dock update.
I was hoping it would fix my battery drain issue but the keyboard on test still fails. Looks like I'll have to RMA it in.
But good news, Netflix works and I finally got PDANet Tablet to work.
Compass error on maps is fixed, web browser seems faster on mine also, but still have the wretched keyboard lag.

Same here. Now when I check for updates, it doesn't find any. Do we have to revert back to stock to work? I don't have custom recovery, just pure root.

Yes, but it was flashing during the update. The main update is done, the dock update is just hanging on downloading, not doing anything.

CM7 on NS4G - button lights come on when screen is off

So if you turn the screen off on the NS4G with CM7 and touch one of the soft keys on the phone, the lights come on. Normally they only come on when the screen is on or when there's a notification.
Is this some setting that I'm oblivious to?

That sounds like touch wake mod. Are you using a custom kernel?

Like he said.
I've never had this happen on cm7.

Negative. It's whatever CM7 came with.
Funnily enough... I can't get it to happen right now... maybe this is an ID-10-T error....

Go to settings/device setttings and at the bottom there should be two option you can adjust.
It's a bug with BLN. Apparently it carried over to CM7led.

Sorry... where?
Download the BLN app from market, deactivated and activated the BLN, that should take care of your problem.

Is the landscape orienation lag fixed in ICS?

If you rotate your tablet to landscape mode you will see that it is noticeably laggier than portrait, whether if its browsing the internet or homescreen. Is this gone in ICS or is it just a tegra 2 issue?
it was gone in ics =)

But see a post I just made. Autocorrect doesn't work in landscape mode using G+ until you flip the Xoom to portrait and back.
Strange...... I'm still on HC (tiamat) & mine lags in portrait mode...

Refer to this thread.

Viewing in landscape??

OK im sure this might be a dumb question....but I can't seem to View anything on my Nexus in landscape view...only portrait, anyone know how to adjust this?
If you pull the notification bar down there is a lock next to the date. You can also force it with an app like Rotation Locker from the market.

look up the one click rooting tool as it is the best way to do it. besides rooting your device it also installs cwm. with cwm you can flash roms and kernels to improve the look and performance of your N7.
quick boot is another excellent tool.
es file explorer is needed to edit the dpi on the N7. i prefer the dpi at 175 for a tablet ui on the N7. after you change the dpi go into settings and change text size to large and your good to go! happy rooting to you
cheers
Much of the Nexus 7 UI has been designed using portrait mode. With that being said, some apps will still rotate (if you have the rotation lock off which was already mentioned) but for the most part they intend you use portrait.

Although most of it works fine in landscape mode, I've used mine mostly locked in landscape mode since I got it without any issues.
The launcher is what is locked in portrait which screws everyone up. Try downloading a new launcher like Apex or Go Launcher. Most apps will rotate but a few will force themselves to portrait mode.
