I just need to be pointed in the right direction of a tutorial or explanation. I have a Droid X that I want to flash to cricket in Linux, is that possible? I would also like some suggestions for a stable ROM, Ive never used Cyanogen or MIUI but are they reasonably stable or any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Is it possible to get android 2.0 on your HTC Hero on the Sprint Network. If so, could you give instructions on how I'm not all that technically advanced, any help would be much appreciated.

there is a mostly working 2.1 on here in the stickys ant the top on the forum as well as an ASOP 2.0 build but I would give it a few days to a week and now that the kernel source has been released the great devs here should have a fully working build very soon.
Thanks alot, is there much of a risk doing that?
No, Sprint has not release a newer version of Android for the Hero than 1.5.

As long as you flash a CDMA Hero ROM & install the custom recovery image, there isn't much risk.
Sprint has not released the 2.1 update for the Hero yet and does not have any confirmed date on when it will be available.
The devs here have several 2.x ROMS with partial functionality, and instructions on how to root your phone and flash them are usually on the first page of their respective threads. Also, check the wiki at the top. It's new and needs a little polish, but it's a repository for all ROMS and guides you'll need.
HTC just released the source code for the CDMA kernel, and with that the devs here should have a fully functional 2.x ROM soon.

This is the 2.1 Beta. But yeah just like wtphoto said. Give it some time before it gets fully furnished for day to day use.
Only if you can't follow VERY simple instructions
call me stupid, what is flashing? Like you said as long as i flash my hero

Flashing is installing different core software or firmware on the phone.

click the links on my previous post to read what you need to do.
PLEASE read everything, then re-read it , then read it while you are doing it. there have been many people that have not done so and bricked thier phones
as the old adage goes measure twice cut once.
as far as flash the stock ROM allows flash, that being said there are some file formats that it wont play but for the most part its pretty good.
*edit*
Sorry wrong thread
Hey, so, forgive me if this is a silly question, but has anyone been using different ROM's for the U8800 since Stockwell has been porting Clockwork?
I'm pretty new to this whole scene, but my understanding is that although we can now backup our system, there aren't any rom's available for the U8800...
we don‘t have any diy rom yet.
Aight, thanks. I guess I'll keep my eyes open and see when we do
waiting for the custom roms , anyone working on it or have any eta ?

B160 is out now (see dev section).
Hello everyone! I just spent awhile in the development forums looking for a simple optimized stock rom. Back on my Galaxy Nexus, I used to run Pete Alfonso's builds because they were pretty much stock with root and some simple optimizations and improvements. I can't seem to find any Nexus 4 roms of this type? Does anybody know any good, supported, but very minimal optimized stock roms? I don't want a CM10.1/AOKP/PA based rom. I don't want loads of custom code. Just a good quick rom!
Thanks

Another other suggestions from anyone?
Is there any one willing to put in the work to port this ROM. There is no reported bugs with this rom. This ROM is reportedly bugless and runs flawlessly. This is true lollipop for our device and it doesn't require you to flash a bunch of silly hot fixes or use different recoveries. So, that being said. Someone, bring us to our home. One that has at least one descent custom ROM.
The link to the ROM:

Godspeed everyone.
Hi all

I'm a newby and I need help to not brick my phone.

I have the same doubt. I'm damn afraid of ****ting my phone
Good night guys,
first I want to apologize for my english, is not good at all,I'm posting here because I looked for help in some brazilian forums and nothing, so let me tell you me sad history.
Recently i bought a nice Moto X Style XT1572, so far nothing to complain, but i love rooting my device and installing custom roms, so i unlocked the bootloader and rooted my device, after this i tried
to install a nice custom rom (RR 5.70) and it installed fine, but when it start the SIM is not recognized and the Wi-Fi doesn't connect
I tried to install another modem, tried another roms and nothing, so I reinstalled the stock, which I'm using now.
There is something that I can do? Or someone to help?
If you guys need some more info about the device just ask.
So thank you anyway and again sorry about my english, promise I will finish my english course
bye guys.

Tried the AICP rom and the same problem :X
RR should work on dual sim xt1572 without issues. I guess its something to do with supersu (if u flashed supersu zip).
AICP also works well on xt1572. You can also try DU.
I have been saying from first and will say again , by far the best rom for Clark is BrokenOS.
Download latest from HERE.
They are only on G+ HERE.
WARNING : if you trying broken,do not post anything on xda, also do not post anything stupid in the community (and strictly follow rules there).
End of discussion on brokenOs too, cause xda does not allow that (anything related to brokenos )
Never heard of brokenos what is it?

I will try this BrokenOS. I tried DU, CM, RR, AICP, Mokee OS, the only ROM that worked on my device was the TruPure but it was showing the same SIM info for the two SIMs (I just use one SIM on my device), I think is something in the modem, don't know, I will keep trying until it work or someone knows some better solution, but thanks anyway ^^
