Nexus S 4.0.4 Best Gallery - Nexus S General

Hi everyone!
I'm on CM9 v5.0 and i noticed that the gapps gallery precache all my picasa image, using more than 500Mb on sd memory.
Also, it stopped to automatically sync the new photo i take from the camera with picasa, sync option is checked, the only way is to install g+, an app that i hate because it's always active and it drain a lot of battery.
So, i'm looking for a new gallery!
It have to automatically sync with picasa and, appreciate but not necessary, it have to be light and fast.
Thx for your attention!

I use the stock gallery, but if you have a problem then try quickpic. It's free in the market. I used to use it on Gingerbread. It was very fast

Stock gs2 gallery app is fast but isn't smooth

As far as I know I haven't seen anyone post anything concerning this. I used the nexus one before coming to gs2 and it's gallery was smooth. Is there anyway to fix this? Or is it just me.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
My gallery works great. You might try going to settings, applications, all, gallery, then clear data. This should just clear the thumbnails. The OS should rebuild the database for the gallery the next time you use it, but after that it should be smooth.
I would recommend backing up all of your photos first, just in case this deletes all of your photos instead of just the thumbnails
Use quickpic
Don't worry, it's due to get replaced soon
It can be ROM problem, for example in Skarbnic ROM the thumbnails are blurred a bit.

Anyone get the phase beam live wallpaper to work on their transformer? I got the apk but when you select it it only shows a static image, no bubbles or anything.

Exactly. The market one also has banding in the background, not very high quality looking. I was talking about the original stock phase beam.

i noticed that it wasn't in the stock LWP, possible that that LWP was only formatted for the galaxy nexus and because of that asus didn't include it in their release.
very disappointing because i was looking forward to having that LWP run on both my phone and tablet.

If your live wallpaper lags, try ADW launcher Ex.
Funny how a launcher app is able to solve the lag problem that still isn't fixed from HC to ICS.

I know the lwp is in cm9 for the touchpad and it looks real good on it, so I don't know why asus couldn't include it

No luck here either.
Really want this looked in to.
I'm not much of a dev myself, or else I'd do it myself, but I also wanted phasebeam on both my gnex and my tab. The ics market version is crap. Can someone update whether or not this is fixed or being worked on? My buddy's touchpad runs it perfectly fine but it just doesn't work on any 10.1 android tablets.

Gallery replacement app
Sir (",) kindly try with a Gallery-replacement app called "QuickPic", it is only 676KB and is free, fast and efficient. It has alot of good feedback in the "Play Store". Let us know if it helps. Thank you.

Stock sgs3 gallery app sucks

Anyone else notice....it seperates the pictures all over the place inside the app. Anyway i can move them around into proper spots. Example, it has all my dled pics in three different downloaded folders...i just need one.
totally agree.
cant wait to root so i can get the stock ics gallery back
agreed! Looks cluttered and ugly. Are there any recommended apps to use in place of it?
I personally use tsf gallery widget, more cool! And fun!

I have tried to push several gallery apps and they all have the same look, I really hate the stock SG3 gallery app, what I would like is to have the same look as the gallery 3d version. I have tried quick pic, and its nice but I don't like the new look I really enjoyed the old 3d look. Anyone have any luck trying to get it installed, I can't get the gallery 3d apk to install. Thanks for the help
This thread delivers! Both of these recommendations are lightyears better than the included gallery. Thanks. Never really knew that I had such a problem with the gallery.

Gmail small font size....can old version be installed on 4.2

The new version of Gmail has small font size with no way to increase it. Can an old version of Gmail be installed on 4.2? If so, how?
Thanks.

You can increase the font by going to system settings and then click display then select the size. Easy

This increases font size system wide and does not work well with other apps or widgets. The old gmail app allowed the font to be changed within the app.

Installing the old 4.1.2 version does not work. It crashes instantly. Time to ditch the Gmail app I guess.

Have you ever tried K9 Mail? The font sizes are fully customizable, and they have new test builds that are finally integrating threaded message view. Plus I love the dark theme!
In 4.2, you can use pinch to zoom in order to change the font size when reading a message. Is that what you were wanting?

Pinch and zoom causes the text to go off screen and requires constant pan and scan to read. I really don't see the need for pinch and zoom for text....pictures maybe.

cool, maybe you'll like it. i find it to be very visually pleasing, once you get it all customized to your liking. the market version might not have the threaded message view in it yet, but the test builds do:
https://github.com/k9mail/k-9/wiki/TestingK9
one thing that sometimes kept me from using it before was that every message was displayed separately, even if from the same thread! but now that is changing. also the messages are pushed to your device just as fast as with the native Gmail app.

No surprise on Gmail. Going from Yahoo Mail to Gmail on the PC I couldn't believe that font changes were limited to a few sizes with one being too small and one too big for my tastes.

i happened to try a Gmail 4.0.5 apk, and it installed easily as a data app, just by clicking 'install'! it has the old font size options and may be worth a try. i will probbly try using it, since i like it better than Gmail 4.2!
ok, i also got 4.1.2 to work, it seems maybe they work if simply installed as a data app. here is the apk i have running on my N7:
