As far as I know I haven't seen anyone post anything concerning this. I used the nexus one before coming to gs2 and it's gallery was smooth. Is there anyway to fix this? Or is it just me.

My gallery works great. You might try going to settings, applications, all, gallery, then clear data. This should just clear the thumbnails. The OS should rebuild the database for the gallery the next time you use it, but after that it should be smooth.
I would recommend backing up all of your photos first, just in case this deletes all of your photos instead of just the thumbnails
Use quickpic
Don't worry, it's due to get replaced soon
It can be ROM problem, for example in Skarbnic ROM the thumbnails are blurred a bit.

So I recieved an email from the makers of Vignette saying that they had to make a new apk because the old one was not able to be updated. They said to buy the new one and the old one will automatically be refunded. Nice! But, only problem is, it doesn't work (on Beta 4 anyhow...). So, I just wanna warn people not to uninstall the old one and get the new one. Luckily I had it backed up
Cheers.
It worked with me ( Stock 2.1 )
so I guess this is custom Rom issue
Works perfect on stock 2.1. With Wolfbreaks cm rom had some trouble but finally started to work..same with freex10.
So it works, just keep messing with it.

is it any good - was taking way too long to save images for me when I used it.. although I did like the auto "flash" light.. if the save time has improved then I might try it again..

yeah i'm using vignette 2011.02.24.6 the focus problem kinda solved..
i did having trouble with 02.24.5
vignette's dev is also updating his work on videocam illusion for x10 version 1.01
I just updated mine.. working perfectly ....
I contacted the devs of this app about a week ago to tell them the x10 was still out of focus in some situations. Have to say, they were VERY helpful and I got a message from them saying they had bought an x10 just to fix the issue, and they'd fixed it and the update was now available.
I'm very impressed with them and Vignette is now back on form! As for the slow picture taking, I tend to stick to the 2MB option for quick snapshots, it's MUCH quicker. Also turned off location info and that seems to help too.

Wow. In that case we could soon be looking at a fully functioning camera and camcorder app.

I've had enough with the stock gallery app. So many issues like, slow to load albums, mismatched thumbnails, ... weird issue where I click on a saved attachment and see an old photo that's long been deleted. Frustrating to say the least.
Anyway, I've looked but haven't really found a worthy replacement app. I want an app that can do everything the stock gallery can do. Find all my image files on my SD card and organize them accordingly.
Quickpic.....all day. Try it, its free and frequently updated.
+1 on the Quick Pic. You can even tell it which folders to include and/or which folders to exclude.

Thanks, just what I was looking for!
Yeah it's super fast after the first time you look at a pics because it saves the cache.

I noticed that, that's a great feature! I actually find myself looking at my photos more. Always dreaded using the stock gallery app.

For real....way nicer to just spend a minute looking at pics. HTC should take a note.....
It also saves the zoomed version so its effortless and not dreading to look at photos.

Here's another vote for Quickpic. On AOSP roms it is a must have, but on Sense I can live with HTC's gallery.

Hi everyone!
I'm on CM9 v5.0 and i noticed that the gapps gallery precache all my picasa image, using more than 500Mb on sd memory.
Also, it stopped to automatically sync the new photo i take from the camera with picasa, sync option is checked, the only way is to install g+, an app that i hate because it's always active and it drain a lot of battery.
So, i'm looking for a new gallery!
It have to automatically sync with picasa and, appreciate but not necessary, it have to be light and fast.
Thx for your attention!

Tried both of these. They're both good choices.
I like the stock gallery app. My issue is that it is keeping my album art in its own album (1separate album per cd), so it is making my album view pretty extreme. I know I can sort the view some but it does not limit the amount of albums.
Anyone know of a setting to limit this from being viewed in the stock gallery or another app that may help?
Thanks

You may want to try Quickpic from the market. I am not sure if it has the same limit issue, but imo it's much faster and better organized than the stock gallery app.
It's one of the first apps I install when I get a new phone.

+1 for QuickPic.
It really is the fastest gallery app around. If you don't mind the fact its UI is minimal, and that it doesn't have the AllShare DLNA baked in, give it a try.
QuickPic is my favorite gallery app by far! ICS Gallery has potential but not quite there yet, although I'd imagine an iteration of that is what's on the GS3. But yeah, QuickPic > *
Thank you all. I am ill give it a shot.

Anyone else notice....it seperates the pictures all over the place inside the app. Anyway i can move them around into proper spots. Example, it has all my dled pics in three different downloaded folders...i just need one.
totally agree.
cant wait to root so i can get the stock ics gallery back
agreed! Looks cluttered and ugly. Are there any recommended apps to use in place of it?
I personally use tsf gallery widget, more cool! And fun!

I have tried to push several gallery apps and they all have the same look, I really hate the stock SG3 gallery app, what I would like is to have the same look as the gallery 3d version. I have tried quick pic, and its nice but I don't like the new look I really enjoyed the old 3d look. Anyone have any luck trying to get it installed, I can't get the gallery 3d apk to install. Thanks for the help
This thread delivers! Both of these recommendations are lightyears better than the included gallery. Thanks. Never really knew that I had such a problem with the gallery.
