HTC glacier??

My phone is due for upgrade at the end of the month. Ever since it was announced i have had my heart set on a Desire HD and planned to upgrade to this as soon as it was released.
A spanner was thrown into the works today when I bumped into some articles dating back to May about the glacier. The spec looks a huge leap ahead of the desire hd but I could not find any recent references to this device at all.
Does anyone know anything about this device? The reports from may say the launch was planned for end of 2010 and that it has the dual core snapdragon. That is all I can find.
Cheers
Tim

It looks like the HTC Glacier and the new myTouch (HD, 4G, and so on) are one and the same.
http://htcsource.com/?p=3711
Has anyone picked apart that ROM yet?
Imo, I would get the 4g if I was on tmob
Wow so they are one and the same??? And I also see a T-Mobile November 3rd release. Bly ME!!!

Official ICS update

Hi guys, just wondering. Will our myTouch 4G get the official ICS update at all? or they will left us behind?
Initially HTC said they would, but tthen the representative said she was "confused" or something. So no I don't think we will get the update.

I just saw a list of devices that will be receiving official ics updates. Mt4g is not on they list. Ill look for my source and post it.

I know it says that a variety of devices which mean more devices than what are listed. But look at the list. Devices that came out way after the mt4g. Also mainly dual core devices.

I highly doubt that the mytouch 4G will receive the official ICS update from HTC. Technically the device is done with its shelf life, which is why i doubt that it'll get an update. It's fine with me though, seeing as my contract ends this year and I'll be picking up a device that will either be updated to ICS or already comes with ICS on it.
According to HTC all phones released in 2011 will get ICS and Canadian variant of MT 4G known as Panache was released in 2011. So it should get ICS update

Thanks guys. I hope to see the custom ROM with ICS but most of them the camera is not working. not just for the MT4G, most of devices are the same. Do you know why it is so hard like this?

Runnymead Sensation XL NAND

Hi,
I want to flash my first ROM after running as for some time,
Is there a "fully" functioning Sensation XL ROM out there with Hardware acceleration on?
It would be good if the ROM is stock also,
Thanks

ICS for DHD cancelled (permanently this time)

http://blog.htc.com/2012/03/ics/
so we must wait till crisch release his beautiful work
This is exactly the kind of thing that made me switch to a Nexus. HTC is getting seriously annoying and it is almost enough to make me sell my Desire. Well done HTC..
It really sucks too, because I was looking forward to seeing official ICS on the DHD. LC's is absolutely amazing, but without an official release of ICS, a lot of the problems the phone has in regards to ICS will be much more difficult to fix.
Oh well. I'm sure ClockaN will do absolutely amazing without an official update.

I don't think HTC realize the damage they do to themselves when they piss off the geak crowd. The reason that all 4 people in my family have htc phones is because me,the "techy" person, recommended that was a good choice. As soon as they piss off the techy person by doing something like this then they loose a lot more then the immediate customer they loose all the recommended customers as well. Grave mistake HTC.
I just don't get this...
So... a 600 MHz cpu with 512mb ram (desire c) can handle ICS and sense 4, but the Desire HD can't?
Yeah, my next phone will be a nexus one.

Wow, that sucks big time! That easily sounds like the stupidest thing I've seen a company do for a long time. I like HTC as anyone else here but I hope this backlash hurts them big time so they learn they can't just screw over their loyal customers like that.
Hopefully they come to their senses and take it all back like they did last year regarding the desire. Or we could all try and pressurise them into releasing all proprietary hardware drivers etc. But I doubt we'll have any luck with that!

I'm sure this angers the Inspire community as well. I have an Inspire 4G and I know the DHD devs make our phone much more worthwhile!
From what I read at HTC statement in their blog, it is not because DHD can't handle the ICS, but it is because they think our phone is in it greatest performance with latest Gingerbread update with Sense 3.0, so they did not want to spoil this enjoyment just for the sake of newer OS. I think HTC sees this problem from average joe perspective, whom never root or play with their phone, and just click on "Update" button whenever it's popped-up on their phone screen.
" ...ultimately the customer experience on the product is the deciding factor."
By the sounds of these posts, the CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE is pretty poor at the moment.

Why are they spoiling the enjoyment of other phone users like the desire s owners. Hell why don't they release their newer smartphones with GB for more enjoyment. BS

Why is it that every time when someone comes along with informations from any blog, which says the update is canceled, the hole crowd is going nuts?
Just yesterday some German finally heard about rumors from canceling ICS. So they contacted HTC and they said, the update will be released.
Still everyone going nuts
Tired of this topic...it ain't that special, whether we get it or not

News about jelly bean update

Rogers on Thursday revealed some unfortunate news for users of several flagship Android devices. The carrier has announced that the scheduled Jelly Bean updates for the Galaxy S II LTE, Samsung Galaxy Note, Motorola Razr HD and Sony Xperia T have been pushed back. The devices were originally slated to get the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update sometime this month, but that has now been moved back to February.
The Galaxy S III LTE will receive its update in "late February," as will the Galaxy Note. The Motorola RAZR HD has suffered shortest delay and will receive the highly-anticipated update in "early February." Finally, the Sony Xperia T will receive its Android 4.1 update in "mid-February." Both HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S III updates have already started to roll out, so if you have one of those flagships and have yet to update, head into the settings and check for it.
Jelly Bean will bring features such as Project Butter, which offers much smoother performance than Ice Cream Sandwich, to the Galaxy Note, Galaxy S II LTE, RAZR HD, and Xperia T on Rogers. Other new Jelly Bean enhancements include expanded notifications and Google Now.
The Android 4.1 roll-out has taken much longer need be, but at least progress is being made. In data released earlier this month, Google announced that the Jelly Bean operating system is now found on 10.2 percent of devices. While this is up from the 6.7 percent it was found on two months ago, it's still not where it should be after 8 months of availability. The saddest part, however, is that Android 2.3 Gingerbread is still on 47.6 percent of devices and it was released nearly 2 years ago.
Google has made significant improvements to the so-called Android "fragmentation problem," even if it still has some work to do.
We'll be sure to let you know when the Jelly Bean update starts to roll-out to the Motorola RAZR HD, which should be sometime in early February.

I ve been using official 412 on my previous phone s3, and now using test leak 412 on my note.
There is no difference beetween these two devices and these two fws. They work fast and smooth.
In my opinion they dont need to relise official jb. It's their shame.
I'm enjoing my test version.
