Hello guys,
I was wondering if it is possible to put MoBoot on the kindle fire
The FIREFIREFIRE bootloader is one extra step there. But is it possible to port it to the Kindle Fire?
Please give input on this. Thanks!

I just bought a kindle fire today and rooted it and installed cm7. I learned all of it from YouTube. All I did was search "root kindle fire" in YouTube and one of the first videos was a walkthrough, also inside of the video description is links to all the files you need

then this would be a good starting point and the source for cm7:

and additional a video:

good luck !
It's a real simple process, only problem is that the knowledge is spread out across multiple topics and when you're starting out, you don't even know what you're suppose to search. And even the tutorials, in their quest to answer all questions, tend to have too much going on and can easily overwhelm newcomers. I'm just going to cover the basics, search the forums for a bit if you need more details.
You're going to need to do 4 things:
1. Download the latest and greatest Kindle Fire Utility from here. It's a Windows utility that does all the heavy lifting of rooting your Kindle Fire, installing custom recovery, installing the Android Market, etc. for you. There are instructions on how to use it in the post, but it's really user friendly.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399889
2. Open the Kindle Fire Utility, and root the Kindle Fire and install custom recovery from the menu. That sounds intimidating, but they're literally one-click operations. Kindle Fire Utility does everything for you. There are videos in the sticky of this forum if you want to see someone go through the process first. This will void your warranty, but that's half the fun.
3. Grab the file linked from the "If you're coming from a STOCK ROM" section to get Cyanogenmod 7, and the file linked in the "OPTIONAL STEPS FOR INSTALLING GOOGLE APPS" section to get Google apps. Transfer them to your Kindle Fire. I'm using this ROM for my Kindle Fire right now and it's really stable.

4. From there, you're going to need to boot into recovery and flash CM7 and Google apps. Here you should definitely watch a video before you do it, because you can really mess up your Kindle Fire if you do something wrong.

5. Enjoy your can't-believe-it's-only-$200 Android tablet.
UserDoesNotExist - really easy and well written - you should put this in an own thread as cm7 guide for beginners !
I rooted and flashed the latest ICS rom to my Kindle Fire.
My question is if I purchased something along these lines:
idolian.com/OnlineCatalog/Leather_USB_Keyboard-details.aspx
Would it be compatible with my Kindle? I already have an adapter that would allow me to plug the USB cable into the Kindle.

Hello everyone,
I just rooted my 2013 kindle fire hd 7'' tonight. Was having fun with it installed 1market, apex launcher, and root uninstaller. Well, i had the bright idea to de-amazon-ify my kindle by removing all stock kindle apps from my kindle with root uninstaller. unfortunately i deleted a package called "kindle system" or something along those lines and now it ts just blank when it boots up. kindle splash screen still shows as if booting normally.
Any way to fix this or am i bricked until a custom rom is out? i wish there was a way to flash to stock...

it's dead.
you should have done your research before. It looks like you will be waiting for a long time, the 7'' HDX device is more popular among rom devs as they are fully functionnal tablets (as the pre-2013 HD models were), there might never be a genuine system recovery in the wild because of that.
that being said: you might have luck sending the device to amazon without disclosing what you did. Who knows
hopefully your story will serve as precautionnary tale to the G.P. around here, but I have doubts seeing how often those KFSOWI boot-looped stories come up.

Already tried that. They wanted the serial number which conveniently is NOT physically on the back of the device. i need to actually get into the system to see what the serial number was. Thanks for the response though!
Try fastboot I believe you can use fastboot-getprop model to get information. abd may be able to accomplish something similar.

I have a Fire HD 10. I removed too many files after rooting it. I can get to recovery but for the life of me, I can't find the bin file for 5.6.1. Can anybody provide me a link to one? My Fire HD 10 was on that update when it got locked on the FIRE screen at startup. If I do make it past startup, I'm stuck at a black screen.
Anyway, help please.

^ if I was on 5.6.1, will the above bin Brick me? Is it safe to do the 5.6.2 -- can I still root the Fire DH 10 after?

I've tried the brick method found on xda, but the brick fails to go through due to endpoint shutdown, and I can't get the short method to work either. Any help please?
