So I know that when you are charging the A500, the light is orange and when its charged the light is white.
My problem is that my A500 is on my bedside table and I am an extremely light sleeper. I have woken to find the white light has come on and is staring me in the face. It usually comes on and goes off by itself. Yes, I know I can cover the A500, tape over the light, etc....
The A500 is sleeping, in silent mode and the wifi is off and the charger is disconnected.
So what keeps triggering the power switch light by itself?
PS, 3.2 stock rooted.

More than likely you have some apps that are attempting to do update notifications and such. You will have to look at each app's settings, and turn them off.
Either that, or turn the tab the opposite direction. Man, it's a spotlight

Turn of the green flashing light at the top of the Wizard, I leave it at the side of my bed at night as I use it as an alarm clock and the tiny green flashing light is bright enought to light up the whole flickin room. I have taken to lying it face down on a book, but would be interested in knowing if it is possible to disable the green LED.
Cheers
Steve
Electric tape? Seriously, I think I read that this is no hack to turn off the lights. I agree that they're quite annoying.
Turn on bluetooth and you get a cool blue flashing light too and that one is even brighter and really lights up the room. Yep, cover it up. Lay a book or magazine over that end of your phone. Or get a case so it covers up the front.
I'll wake up in the middle of the night and see my side of the room glowing blue. Its from my bluetooth headset (plantronics) letting me know its charged... sheesh...

There has to be a reg hack that can do this cus, when you go to Sounds and then you click on any of them you have a option to have 'flash light for ....'
So there must be a setting that you can turn it off for good!!1 I will have a look but i am at work right now so not much time!
I prefer to see my screen without annoying blinking light pollution around it, can the beaconing LED indicators such as when on Wi-Fi etc be turned off? -Thanks
I don't know about when Wi-Fi is on, but go to Settings>Sound&Display>Notification Flash
From there you can turn off the flash for everything else.

Cool sounds hopeful, thanks, if you or anyone gets a chance to confirm that works for Wi-Fi as well please reply back as I don't have one yet.. (only played with one on launch day for >2 hrs in a Sprint store with no Wi-Fi)
I'm gonna say that Wi-Fi doesn't have an LED notification because I just connected at work, and no blinky.

Thanks Jye75, maybe the blinky is a pet peeve of mine but I really find it annoying-wasteful, now if only the weak Wi-Fi reception issue would be officially addressed..
The LED is only used to indicate charging status, low battery, or notifications (txt, e-mail, missed call, voicemail, etc.). It's pretty unobtrusive too, not very bright at all since it sits behind the earphone grill... You'd probably miss it easily if the phone was sitting flat on it's back on an elevated surface ('specially w/a case w/a wide lip like the silicon skins).
I just bought the droid 2 global and the green led wont turn off. Anybody know what to do?
Sent from my DROID2 GLOBAL using XDA App
Does the Green LED just keep flashing or is it consistently on? If its just flashing, than it just means you have an unchecked notification from your email or social networking, doesn't it?
Also somewhat related, when I plug in/charge my Droid 2, the white LED right next to the plug lights up and doesn't turn off unless I disconnect my Droid 2. It's kinda annoying since the light is fairly bright and I charge my phone when I sleep, is there anyway to turn this off?

That light isn't able to be shut off that light is to tell you that your phone is getting power from the outlet. It's helpful if you aren't sure if an outlet is switched on or working or you can distinguish a bad charging cable from a good one.

Why not just use a black indelible marker to cover the white LED? It will still be visible, but won't be as bright.
Cheers,
Steve.
While chargeing my xoom, a white light started to flash in the top-right side of the xoom.
someone know what is it?
that's your notification light. Shouldn't flash during charge because you connected the charger though, but much rather whenever you receive a notification (like new E-Mail, etc.)
It will still flash notifications while charging while the Xoom is on, but shouldn't if you have it powered down...
Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) / T-385M
Did someone experience that? When I plug tablet in charger, the LED flash from the back turns itself in a weak light, like if it's trying to simulate a notification led, like those we can see on screen of others smartphones to advise it's charging. When you open tha case, LED flash turns off slowly (fading). Close the case and it turns on again. It's rare to use this tablet. First time I notice that!
I'm afraid it's a problem.
LED flash is working normaly for shots.
What do you think?
