Hi folks
does someone have any news on the FM radio front ?
we're not talking about streaming here, but the real thing : FM stereo radiowaves over the air.
A100, A200 and A500 use the same chip : AzureWave AW-NH611.
it is a combo chip, with Wlan, bluetooth and FM TX/RX on the same chip.
it is also found in some Lenovo Tablet (K1?) and the famous Xiaomi mi-one.
of all these devices, the only one which make use of the FM capability is the mi-one.
MIUI team has developed a FM app in their ICS ROM.
As everybody knows, Acer will release ICS in april, and a lot of people here already have some leaked rom in their iconia.
Can anyone test the MIUI FMapp in the ICS Iconia ?
AFAIK, from the MIUI Rom, we need to retrieve:
-/system/app/FM.apk
-/system/bin/fmradioserver
-/system/bin/fmconfig
-/system/lib/libfmradio.so
-/system/lib/libfmradioplayer.so
-/system/lib/libfmradiostackservice.so
and copy them to iconia.
I would try myself but dont want to flash a leaked ICS yet
Post the files up and I'll take a look.
I would also be willing to take a look. This would be a nice feature to use.
I'd be willing to test as well.. Let's stay on topic guys..
here is the files _hxxp://rghost.ru/37435778
Dud link.
you have to change the hxxp: to http: and it is fine. He can't post links yet
http://rghost.net/37435778 there you go it will work by clicking on it.
I know that, I did that, and it's still a dud link. Possibly somewhere unreachable from the UK.
Either way, I get: Error 138 (net::ERR_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED): Unable to access the network.

Thanks.

OK, for me at least, doesn't work. An ADB push copies it out but no shortcut. Trying an ADB install gives me a error about a missing certificate.
I just uploaded mentioned files. Possibly it's not so easy. Try on ROM with switched off certificate verification.
Naaw. I ain't flashing a new ROM just to TRY to get FM working. Way too much of a PITA to go through that kind of hassle.
Did you chmod it? If the permissions are wrong it can't execute. Issue a "chmod 0644 /system/app/FM.apk", the bins may need the permissions changed too.
I can see the app but when I try to install it it says "application not installed" would it be possible to put this together as an installable zip file for cwm to ensure all the pieces go to the right places?
Played around with that files. Apk needed to have the same signature as system. But even without signature check it does not run - need something from miui framework. Binaries also do not work: specified libs not enough - it can not load: some functions can not be linked. Possibly - missed driver or export in kernel.
Are you guys sure this is not similar to the 3g modem situation. Some of the hardware chips are on The iconia . but not fully supported. as well as to get the radio to work it will need antana . my huawei 2.3.6 android phone has a fm radio. The antana is the headset port.i have a 5 inch adapter wire i put in there to recieve a signal. Then in the software for the tuner i can can switch to headset port phone speaker or bluetooth...
by the way it works awesome. would love to have this on iconia . Do not take this as me saying its not happening. BUT Its most likely some hardware missing..
GOOD LUCK. I will be watching this thread.. IF YA get it looks PLEASE TELL ME im wrong..
thanks guys. and please people stay on topic. or close anyway hi floatie long time no see.
we are not talking here fm radio ?
Tk's
François
It seems that at least libbluedroid.so should be taken from the miui. Will test in the evening
Any news about it? Has anyone managed to get FM radio on your A500?
I'm highly interested in FM radio too. Subscribed.

Because I cannot see any post from "guru" ABC. from whom the original Screen Rotate Service Idea came from.
And for the sake of others who may want to try this on their XDA 2.
Im posting the files for download, this was the 10/29 update.
But if there are new post from ABC and the other gurus here with respect to SRS, id gladly edit this post and withdraw.
Thanks and Good Day.
edit:
1. SRS will display under your settings, if installed properly, it will run correctly, if not, it will ask you to reinstall.
2. For those who have trouble running their camera after installing the SRS, i suggest you upgrade your camera version to 2.5 from 2.01.
posted is the camera2.5 upgrade.
Are you running SRS on ROM 1.60 ? Does it work?
Thanx!
im running it on a very unstable 1.66WWE ROM and no problems so far. hehehe...
checking...oh, a theme...thanks..
Hi!
I'm one of the authors of "Wireless Tether for Root Users".
We are currently trying to add support for the liquid. The problem is that we don't have such a device available for testing!
That's why we probably need YOU!
I've created an issue-report on our google-code page:
http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/issues/detail?id=289
There you can find (hopefully helpful) information and download-links to test-applications. Please add your comments (regarding problems or other stuff) there. I will ask questions - please try to answer these as good/fast as you can (this helps to get it done).
Ah ... one more thing: Wirelesss Tether needs a custom kernel (netfilter-support!) - please see our faq (http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/wiki/FAQ).
Thanks for your help.

Im up for it let me know what tests need to be done etc.
im willing to test also.
as for the kernel module required for wireless networking to work correctly....we aren't able to compile the module for some reason. iirc the liquid was using some non-standard module for one portion of the networking, was so long ago can't remember exactly. Disc0 was the one who wrote about it, i'll see if ican find it.
I was personally thinking about this the other day, is it possible to run both a wifi and hsdpa connection and bridge them? if we could then it'd be as simple as an ad-hoc network and a proxy solution
http://android.modaco.com/content-page/302370/disco-custom-kernel-v-b01/page/220/#entry1188059
built fine but fc on every apk as disc0 said. Don't think he released his modified kernel source either
Okay, so i hope im not wrong - im a complete noob with Android phones.
So yesterday i brought my Tattoo, and while playing with its features today and yesterday i found it did not support bluetooth file transfer .
So i googled it, and got a bit of a headache, and then i saw about ROMS! Im guessing that i need a custom ROM to get access to Bluetooth File Transfer. Soo, which ROM available (preferably a complete one ) has Bluetooth File Transfer available and doesnt sacrifice anything else (i.e. Camera etc.).
Or is there a way to get Bluetooth File Transfer without flashing a ROM?
Btw i have rooted my phone.
As i said, complete noob here - so please be slow with me XD
BT file transfer will only work on a 2.1 or 2.2 ROM. And the camera and FM radio doesn't work on both of them. So there's definitely a trade off. If you can sacrifice camera and FM radio for BT file transfer, then check out Kiljacken's 2.1 ROM.

I found a download link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=644616
you can download the fyodor-froyo-tattoo_v0.7.2c.zip LINK: http://uploadmirrors.com/download/TVINTHZI/fyodor-froyo-tattoo_v0.7.2c_1.zip (no camera or FM)
or you can download this fyodor-aosp-tattoo_v0.6.4.2.zip LINK: http://rapidshare.com/files/401880261/fyodor-aosp-tattoo_v0.6.4.2.zip
I installed the v0.6.4.2 on my tatto and it works extra...
the only problem is that it has 5 screens and not so many widgets...
other stuff works great...

Second day:
the rom works fine with out any problems.
Installed few games and few software and when I run them all in the same time it does not lag at all...
the trouble is that there are just a few widgets installed with the ROM so I had to install widgets from market (which are not that good) so if anyone has good widgets please PM me or pos it down here...
xD
G'day all,
After doing considerable looking around, and coming up empty-handed, I have created this flashable ZIP install of DSPManager for Sense-based ROMs. I figure that it'll save some time for those of us that can't live without it. =]
Please note, I am not claiming to have made DSPManager, or to have modified it, I just packaged it so it can be easily installed since most (if not all) Sense ROMs I have tried have not come with it. To credit sources, this is the DSPManager.apk from CM6.1 and the libaudioflinger.so from cnunez1987's thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=783737
The reason for using the CM6 DSPManager.apk was to get the newer interface.
If you download this, please confirm if it works on the ROM you're using. I will keep an updated list here, if anyone is interested.
KNOWN TO WORK WITH...
- Super-Z Enhanced V 4.2
KNOWN TO NOT WORK WITH...
None so far..
My apologies if this is a duplicate of something, but I found nothing in my research that provided functionality on Sense and the new interface, thus sharing this ZIP.
BTW, standard disclaimer: I am NOT responsible for your phone. Flash this at your own risk, but it did work for me on my Inc. Oh, and please, do a Nandroid first.
Hi,
I have recently ported PostmarketOS with the help of the developers of the os. It is an initial port, so only display, touchscreen and charging work. 3D acceleration seems to be broken for now, same as other things such as wifi and stuff. The only tested UI for now is xfce4, as it can run on the framebuffer. If someone is willing to help with the port, it would be great For now I'll try to make wifi and bluetooth work.
Here is the link to the device page on the pmOS wiki, flashing instructions are also there : https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/HTC_HD2_(htc-leo))
Update : wifi works now too

Hi Dominduchami, thanks for your work.
Here is the link with the bracket on the end
https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/HTC_HD2_(htc-leo)
Is there a download link there?
@Robbie P Hi. There isn't really any download link, but in the link to the wiki there's an installation guide. You'll just have to install pmbootstrap and follow the instructions there. If there is a need for it, I can also make an image of the sd card with the rootfs, but I think it wouldn't be really practical, because alpine linux is updated all the time

Hi.
Sorry for the late reply. I'm not really working on it right now and I don't plan on doing anything with it in the near future. If you want to work on it however, I can give you some advice on how to set up the environment and such, if you want. The things that probably can be also made working are audio and bluetooth, graphics acceleration is afaik not possible in pmos with such old kernel.
Can you upload sd card with rootfs images ? please
