Hi!
I'm one of the authors of "Wireless Tether for Root Users".
We are currently trying to add support for the liquid. The problem is that we don't have such a device available for testing!
That's why we probably need YOU!
I've created an issue-report on our google-code page:
http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/issues/detail?id=289
There you can find (hopefully helpful) information and download-links to test-applications. Please add your comments (regarding problems or other stuff) there. I will ask questions - please try to answer these as good/fast as you can (this helps to get it done).
Ah ... one more thing: Wirelesss Tether needs a custom kernel (netfilter-support!) - please see our faq (http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/wiki/FAQ).
Thanks for your help.

Im up for it let me know what tests need to be done etc.
im willing to test also.
as for the kernel module required for wireless networking to work correctly....we aren't able to compile the module for some reason. iirc the liquid was using some non-standard module for one portion of the networking, was so long ago can't remember exactly. Disc0 was the one who wrote about it, i'll see if ican find it.
I was personally thinking about this the other day, is it possible to run both a wifi and hsdpa connection and bridge them? if we could then it'd be as simple as an ad-hoc network and a proxy solution
http://android.modaco.com/content-page/302370/disco-custom-kernel-v-b01/page/220/#entry1188059
built fine but fc on every apk as disc0 said. Don't think he released his modified kernel source either

Hi all!
I've searched and dug, I've used the forum search as well as google with operands, I've searched sites other than XDA and come up with nothing.
What I want to know is, somewhere, is there a list of the packages with their descriptions? I'm new to cooking (As in two days new!) and after receiving no help in trying to learn from a tutorial, I was forced to guide myself.
While using a kitchen, I'm presented with the SYS packages which all come with nice descriptions telling me what they are, and then I can choose whether or not I need them. The EXT packages however do no such thing.
There are a few which are obvious, such as the first on my list, "Advanced Network v1.0.9.0". This is obviously the software for the advanced network settings under control panel/connections.
Not all EXT packages however are so obvious, and attempts thus far to identify them have failed
So, I wanted to ask whether or not there was a listing, partial, complete or in the making, of the standard and regularly included (Stock) EXT/OEM packages for the Touch HD.
Thanks!

IMHO try to PM some of the known cooks from this thread(or others) to help you: it might be the most successfull way to get yourself a cook sooner!!!
Success!
Thanks for the post bib*oops, but I'd already considered that.
I'd prefer it if the information was put into this thread, that way, even after I've used it, other people who want to cook their own roms can figure out just exactly what they have in it, so they can remove, or add SYS packages based on what they need.
I'm probably not the first, nor will I be the last person to need this information. Better than it is available in one post than people making new posts with "What is the XYZ package & what does it do?"

I see... Good idea , so far!
Unfortunately all I can find is reference to some packages on the other sub-forums, not for the Blackstone >_<
Hello!
I saw this topic, interesting - might change and apply this method to Tabunay 3.0.1 ?
Use this method without changing anything - brick resulted in a Acer A500.
p.s. i apologize for my English )
Test Hide for ICS Bar ?? anyone wanna test it on iconia?
I Read in the dev forum somewhere that none of the Honeycomb bar hide methods work with ICS at this time.. I would also think this would be more difficult with the acer ring incorporated in ics. only think i could suggest if you want to try the link you posted is to do a FULL ANAND IN CWM/RA Recovey and give it a try .
If you do let us know the results . Thanks for the link
its not possible
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...nb29kbW9vZGRyb2lkLmdlc3R1cmVjb250cm9sZGVtbyJd
so, if your resulting in a brick (or crash), chances are acer has done some hackery in the frameworks or the settings apk, that in turn is being stripped out when you install this.
basically what this does, is create a setting in your settings app that is referenced in the framework that kills system ui. and restarts it respectively. this would be quite easy to implement (for example) cyanogenmod, or any source built rom for that matter.
it is unlikely this will work in a non source-built/ non-stock android rom, but you could further investigate by using adb logcat and tracing down the root of the crash.

Hi everyone!
I wanted to ask someone who knows and is accustomed to porting roms might bring a rom type ICS or Jelly Bean for the U8800 (not pro).
But in a special way, I have had problems on all roms because of the wi-fi, the one where the wi-fi works is the Xperia Style and opened the zip and found that there was one thing that none of the other roms had - one folder to say wifi.
I wanted to ask someone who can make or bring a folder with the rom that has wifi and wpa this rom, because I think so now will give wifi ...
(I used Google Translator)

Different ROMs have different way to load and run wifi. Doing what you say is possible through the source code, but it is a lengthy process; modifying all of the wifi configuration files.

But if someone did it when ported the Xperia Style, why don't do the same for another rom like CyanogenMod or other?
Can you send me a link to find some roms of Honor?
I would like to try to port one rom from it
Hello,
I am working on a custom app for the motoactv platform and I would love to connect to someone who can customize a ROM (like ClearDroid) for my purposes. I basically need a stripped down version of CD that can host my app, connect to wifi (and provide all the hardware services that are on the device already) and basically nothing else. Ideally I would be able to launch right into my app from booting (this might imply a custom launcher as well).
Ideally this person would help me set up this bare ROM, add my app to it and maybe show me around the customization a little. Know anyone? There would probably be some money in it for someone who could competently help me out.
Thanks,
Judd
Sir,
Please wait until mods will move this thread to the device specific forum.
Stand by
Good luck
Hi,
I have recently ported PostmarketOS with the help of the developers of the os. It is an initial port, so only display, touchscreen and charging work. 3D acceleration seems to be broken for now, same as other things such as wifi and stuff. The only tested UI for now is xfce4, as it can run on the framebuffer. If someone is willing to help with the port, it would be great For now I'll try to make wifi and bluetooth work.
Here is the link to the device page on the pmOS wiki, flashing instructions are also there : https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/HTC_HD2_(htc-leo))
Update : wifi works now too

Hi Dominduchami, thanks for your work.
Here is the link with the bracket on the end
https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/HTC_HD2_(htc-leo)
Is there a download link there?
@Robbie P Hi. There isn't really any download link, but in the link to the wiki there's an installation guide. You'll just have to install pmbootstrap and follow the instructions there. If there is a need for it, I can also make an image of the sd card with the rootfs, but I think it wouldn't be really practical, because alpine linux is updated all the time

Hi.
Sorry for the late reply. I'm not really working on it right now and I don't plan on doing anything with it in the near future. If you want to work on it however, I can give you some advice on how to set up the environment and such, if you want. The things that probably can be also made working are audio and bluetooth, graphics acceleration is afaik not possible in pmos with such old kernel.
Can you upload sd card with rootfs images ? please
