I tried the steps in the dev section with flashing a special sbf with cg 5 in it but hat didnt work either... all i get now is a phone thats boots in bootlaoder and shows error message... no way to get into recovery mode...
I know it was stupid not to flash a clean 2.2 before doing this...

Probably the one you tried was just corrupted hehe, good to see you got it sorted.
And yeah, the special Eclair SBF wont work since all these new Defy+ Roms come with CG6, and that one is CG5.

Hi, ace, I had a 2.3.6 Defy+ and got screwed too, by flashing a 2.3.4 custom ROM without being aware of the locked bootloader / no-downgrade lock.
Please, where did you find stock ROM / sbf file for 2.3.6 Defy+ ? I need it but can't find it
EDIT: nvm. I found it myself =)

Hey i've soft bricked my n7000..
basically i just need to know what exactly to do now, kernels etc
ideally id like to be running Midnote 3.3
anyone kind enough to reply with help would be seriously appreciated!
Maybe if you gave some more information on what how when and why ?
Nobody can help you on a 'hey i lost my car can someone tell me where on this planet i parked this morning?'
Agree on above poster. We need to know what rom uou were flashing from, by what method, and the issue now.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Fair enough was thinking there was a straight forward fix, as in just flash this and do this etc..
i was running Midnote 2.1, i was on LP1 and tried to flash Midnote 3.3 using CWM.. it wasn't flashing as i couldn't see the .zip rom at all..
i then done a few factory wipes and basically just wiped the davlik and cache and tried any options in CWM
The issue now is that when i boot im stuck at the samsung splash screen..
I can boot into recovery and into cwm..
And what exactly happends now ?
dead black screen ?
Samsung logo blocked ?
PC odin doesn't connect ?
Can you enter CWM recovery ?
Can you enter boot recovery ?
I think you better try and flash a safe GB kernel and rom first
Then do a full wipe, then flash whatever you like.
You can best flash through PC odin for the stock GB

Stuck at Samsung logo
Can enter CWM and recovery, odin works as far as i can tell
I would suggest trying to flash a stock gb rom via pc odin. If you get stuck at the factory.fs stage you may well be superbricked because of the cwm recoveries and wipes on lpy.
There are a few threads on sorting out a problematic emmc section. But we'll get to that afyer youve tried this.

Thank you, I don't mean to be an effort but you hardly know where I can get a safe GB kernel and rom? i just want to be sure as im getting kind of worried now
Check out dr ketans thread in the stickies of d3velopment section. Theres loaf of info there. Its pretty straight forward if you flash initially to an older rom for your region. Take a look itll make sense promise.

nope you dont need a kernel when flashing stock GB rom
but 1st keep ur fingers crossed and pray that you get through the ODIN installation method
copy the GB rom file in ODIN folder and open ODIN and click on PDA and select the downloaded GB ROM file and press START
You legends! the stock gb rom worked perfect...
now comes the slightly trickier part.. loading the Midnote 3.3 rom
anyone using this rom? 2.1 was great!
whats the safest way to flash this, kernel wise etc?
thanks again lads
also, now that im back on the stock gb rom.. do i need to root again????
i tried getting into cwm and it brought me into android recovery mode ( still had install zip from sd option)

Yes, you will need to root it if you didn't flash a GB pre-rooted ROM.
And I think the CWM.zip file is on drketan's thread.

Boot into cwm and factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache also. Then re flash ROM of your choice. If it still won't boot I suggest trying another ROM or Odin back to stock and re root your device.

I download china kernel from tezet (even if i m in france) and i install it (i start recovery mode with connected to power)

You are right, the problem is caused by flashing different roms contain different kernel. I met similar problem before. Flash correct requested kernel before flashing the rom you want is necessary.
Suggestion for other users: Before flashing new rom, know what is your current kernel version, and do necessary adjusted work if needed.

The problem may be caused by flashing the CM10 directly, you need to flash a updated kernel (check what tezet said about the kernel update in his CM10) from froyo kernel to CH kernel before flashing CM10 (not the first two CM10 release, which asks for froyo kernel to run.)
I had similar problem when I flashed directly from froyo kernel to a CM10 that asks for GB kernel to run. So I flashed a updated kernel before flashing CM10, then it CM 10 working.
I assume the problem is caused by different kernel. We usually call it "M logo stuck" problem. Hope my suggestion works. And hope your work will work soon.
Best wishes,
Peter

I have defy+ (MB526)..
It was on stock 2.3.6 when i brought it. I was using CM10 by Quarx recently..
I Flashed bootmenu1.0.4+CWM5.0.3.1+modules.zip this morning and now phone is stuck on MOTO logo... if i go into bootmenu, i can't go in recovery.. What can i do? I have the backup of my previous working config.. but from where can i flash it????? I tried flashing via install update.zip in motorola recovery but got and error "Signature verification failed"..
I searched a lot... got many threads telling how to flash SBF and all but i don't know my bootloader version, and one of the thread said if i flash SBF of wrong bootloader version my phone will be bricked.. I don't know my build version..
As i can't get my phone to boot, i can't find my build version to know which bootloader version i have...
When i go into bootloader by pressing vol up + power button i get this message:
Bootloader
09.10
Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable
Searched but I can't figure out if i have bl6 or bl7.. and then which SBF to flash.. I don't want to downgrade below 2.3.6..
SBF's i found:

You're probably on BL6
Dude if you bought your DEFY+ about 5-6 months back, you're probably on 4.5.1-134-DFP-132 or 1321, which is BL6....
Try flashing 4.5.2-109_DHT-25 coz its kernel apparently has better battery life.
If that doesn't work, flash 4.5.1-134-DFP-132.
That'll definitely work.

When you flash an SBF file, what you actually flash is a STOCK MOTOROLA FIRMWARE.
So, no, it is not rooted. But why is that important? You can root both bl6 and bl7.
And what the the hell did you mean with "DHT-25 also can't run CM7??" All the DEFY+ firmwares contain Gingerbread kernel. You can use custom ROM's on absolutely and and every of them, it doesn't matter. Some people say that they get better battery life with one or another, put am not really sure about that, never checked.
So, first - stop panicking.

Check the date of the post - December 2011. There were no DEFY+ (Gingerbread) builds back then, that was the problem.
After you flash it, it won't boot, you'll get a bootlop. To fix this just boot into stock recovery and do a data wipe, all fine after that!
Just for the record, all the DEFY+ sbf's are available here - http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umts_jordanplus/list.php

For the 2nd time in 3 years I have bricked my phone. I was using Cyanogen 7.2 in the past and today I have decided to try MIUI.
After a flash i was geting reboot before Android was loaded to I decided to install the base OS.
Installed RSDLite5.6 -- shashed one of the oficial Andro for version 2.2.1 I think (closed page and I don't have it in front now) and device is all dead.
I know in the past I have flashed a chinese ROM and was working again...rooted and all of that but I can't find a download link for a ROM to do this.
I am not shure how to proceed also.
Can you guys help me, it will be much apreciated.
I've got the same problem, tried to root with superoneclick, first time it didn't go through, 2nd time it went through. Phone turned off (instead of rebooting) and screen is black since then, doesn't come on....

I can't flash a custom rom now because I don't have recovery. The only thing I can do with my phone is to enter download mode.
As far as I know I have to:
- flash a new room that I can use it to boot device and work on it.
- root device and install recovery
- install cooked rom
My problem is that I don't know what to flash so that I can boot my phone --- now it is in the dead phase
You have to flash an sbf, not a ROM(that's what you will flash once you get back recovery). Read the defy beginners guide to get the steps. Basically:
Get sbf (search and download)
Get rsdlite and Motorola USB drivers
Flash it (from boot loader mode)

As mentioned already I have flashed sbf with RSDLite and still in trouble. Please point me to a correct sbf file to use. This is what I need

Did you try a full wipe in stock recovery before flash .sbf?
