Yes the UI is pretty, as it is in iOS.
But as a both Android and iOS user, I feel kinda disappointed here.
The UI, in my opinion, doesn't follow Android's (specifically ICS) philosophy.
To me, it feels a lot more like a ported version of Instagram for iOS.
Anyway, this is just my personal feeling.
Overall, I'm satisfied with what Instagram has brought to us Android users.
Now there's no way iOS users can mock us again by not having Instagram on our phones

That was the first thing that came to my mind after installing it. I was expecting for an ICS or simplistic UI, but all I got is cheap plastic iOS UI.
I beg to differ. I think the UI is fantastic. Love the design of the app.
Ok, so it is saying this app is not compatible with your phone.

I think it is a bug in the Play Store. I got the same thing for Google Maps all day yesterday. Supposedly there is a new store update that fixes these issues.

I got nexus s from craiglist for the time being till my Atrix get cm7. I got a chance to use miui rom. Wow I'm really impressed. I do love stock roms but this one is brilliant. Oh wow. It's really great then. Can't wait to run this on Atrix. I don't know why Nexus S runs smoother than atrix right now. I understand that nexus s is running on gingerbread but atrix has dual core processor and one gb ram. I run out of ram on nexus s quite easily, that's the only problem I have.

Soooo....what improvements are expected with ICS over GB? Now that source for GB has been kind of released and the OTA looming on the horizon the GB whining has stopped and now they are whining for "why not ICS?" So can some one tell me what the big deal will be for ICS?

Thanks. A lot of the features mentioned in there, we already have! I don't see that big of a deal. It appears mostly cosmetic with some Palm theft about the multi-tasking swipes. Camera functions can be improved on the Epic with apps like HD Camera and the many Panoramic apps available.

You'll be happy to know that the head designer of WebOS switched teams to Google during the development of Honeycomb. The "theft" from Palm is entirely public, not that I mind. It will do a lot to make Android easier to adopt and really separate it in function from iOS.

I agree with this, but the amount of resources and testing at google's disposal far outweighs that of your average rom builder.
Not only that, but I'm positive that Google has specification and performance information on the phone's hardware that the average ROM developer will simply never have. I agree, custom ROMs are fun to play with, but for everyday use, you'll never beat a stock ROM.

I'm on kang 15 and steve.garons latest kernel. You and I have very different opinions of stable. Mine is top notch. No hiccups. If u want to wait, by all means, I was...then broke down and the current roms are fantastic.
It takes less than 5mins to root, make a backup, copy that backup yo PC, then unlock boot loader and flash a new rom. If u don't like it, there always that backup you can restore. Too easy to sit around and complain when there are alternatives
I'm always finding things that don't work on custom kernels and it drives me insane!! I'll try to show someone something cool, and it takes me 15 minutes just to get it working, then I just look stupid because the rom I have isn't compatible with ___, or it's missing ___ (fill in the blank)
Yeah, they are fun to play with, and it's nice to have the cool mods & tweaks that come with them, but when you want your phone to "just work" then there's nothing better than a nice stable official rom that does everything you throw at it. speed & extra performance is great, but stability and compatibility outweigh those every single time, imho

I can't help but agree that ota is most stable But I feel the same way as you. Stability first. Yet I myself am not suffering from any issue. I find my self surround by multiple galaxy nexus owners daily and I am showing them stuff w my oG. Vice versa, just throwing it out there. I have been lucky when I have been flashing phones, many many manyphones hahaha. They all take well to me. I hate a screwed up glitchy phone

Of course 4.2 is newer and better, but is it actually better on our phone in the real world. I feel that gingerbread on this phone was the best an there really wasn't anything smoother or faster FOR THIS DEVICE.

i don't agree with your statement that '4.2 is better' and that gb runs smoother or faster on this device only, i actually think that 2.3.x was the best android ever made and it all went downhill from there
show me one device where jb / ics works better than gb and i'll buy you a new car
Let the troll rest
¿dpeeps74?
U need to distinguish between speed and fluidity. GB browser is really, really bad, menus are complicated and UI is unpolished on *every* device. JB is maybe tad slower, but it is better in every aspect except battery consumption wise...
Sent from my Nexus S using xda app-developers app
I tried that oxygen rom, and that even without gapps. I got to say, after jelly bean 4.1.2 gingerbread is too slow and too ugly to use it. I rather have little smoother UI and nice looking rom more up to date than old, slow, sluggish, ugly rom. Also gingerbread doesnt have hw acceleration. There you have it.
