Miui rom - Atrix 4G General

I got nexus s from craiglist for the time being till my Atrix get cm7. I got a chance to use miui rom. Wow I'm really impressed. I do love stock roms but this one is brilliant. It's completely redesigned interface. Looks like iphone but million times better! Anyone else got a chance to evaluate it ever?

Yep I used it all the time on my Evo, its awesome, its basicly a CM rom, but with different design, in fact, any phone that has official CM7 will almost have MIUI =)!

Oh wow. It's really great then. Can't wait to run this on Atrix. I don't know why Nexus S runs smoother than atrix right now. I understand that nexus s is running on gingerbread but atrix has dual core processor and one gb ram. I run out of ram on nexus s quite easily, that's the only problem I have.

The Evo is Dying????

Hardly!
I'm sitting here with fresh d/l's of 4 ROMS, newest MIUI, Blazing ROMs Fusion 4.0 & ICS AOSP and Prime XL 3D.....

We dont need no stinkin coin flippin.. Flash all 4 and add 1 more for a total of 5 on the fly. Have a 32gb sd with 3GB left over running all 5 as listed in my sig below
I just said this. I feel like I just got this phone I am on it so much right now. I currently have nands of 3 different roms, all of which are great! I'm also in the process of putting a 4 Rom on to give a go. Sorry but for the Evo being the flagship "super" phone (my words lol) and being as old as it is I'm in no hurry to "upgrade".
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind a native 3.0-3.5 Sense or that nexus with 4.0 and a dual processor but Grandaddy Evo is still holding it's own with all of it. And honestly I am really excited to see 4.0 on here, Devs are making me pretty optimistic that Google trimmed the fat to work well across all phone types.

This is true, but I know how to make it work.
I REALLY think Blazing AOSP is the way to go. I loved Fusion, but I see people still not getting all their VM and calls, but that Prim ROM is looking totally solid, and MIUI is a bona fide' daily.
I'll end up flashing at least 3 of them over the next few days, I'm sure.
I have Miui, Classic, Newt's 3.5 and team Blaze's ICE Aosp and Deck's on Boot Manager. Much easier and quicker than nandroids.

How is that Ice AOSP?
I don't think the Evo is going anywhere anytime soon. I would still use my HTC Touch if it had Wi-Fi (Foggy resistive screen ftl). They have CM7 for it and it was originally a Windows phone. Sucks that they are moving to LTE for 4G but still.

Official ICS 4.0 ota for nexus s 4g before late galaxy nexus.

I just wanted to know if Google releases the ics ota for the nexus s 4g should I just stick with it instead of upgrading fully to Mac daddy galaxy nexus. I hope they release it on the sale date of the GN or before. Just want to hear some thoughts.

I agree with this, but the amount of resources and testing at google's disposal far outweighs that of your average rom builder.
Not only that, but I'm positive that Google has specification and performance information on the phone's hardware that the average ROM developer will simply never have. I agree, custom ROMs are fun to play with, but for everyday use, you'll never beat a stock ROM.

I'm on kang 15 and steve.garons latest kernel. You and I have very different opinions of stable. Mine is top notch. No hiccups. If u want to wait, by all means, I was...then broke down and the current roms are fantastic.
It takes less than 5mins to root, make a backup, copy that backup yo PC, then unlock boot loader and flash a new rom. If u don't like it, there always that backup you can restore. Too easy to sit around and complain when there are alternatives
I'm always finding things that don't work on custom kernels and it drives me insane!! I'll try to show someone something cool, and it takes me 15 minutes just to get it working, then I just look stupid because the rom I have isn't compatible with ___, or it's missing ___ (fill in the blank)
Yeah, they are fun to play with, and it's nice to have the cool mods & tweaks that come with them, but when you want your phone to "just work" then there's nothing better than a nice stable official rom that does everything you throw at it. speed & extra performance is great, but stability and compatibility outweigh those every single time, imho

I can't help but agree that ota is most stable But I feel the same way as you. Stability first. Yet I myself am not suffering from any issue. I find my self surround by multiple galaxy nexus owners daily and I am showing them stuff w my oG. Vice versa, just throwing it out there. I have been lucky when I have been flashing phones, many many manyphones hahaha. They all take well to me. I hate a screwed up glitchy phone

Worth trade my LG Optimus 3D P920 for a Moto Atrix 4G?

Well, this is it.
Is it worth trade? I was thinking about use the webtop and try to buy a vehicle dock and lapdock for a better use of the phone... But seeing on another way I have an ipad 3 and its better than the docks for Atrix, I can just plug my iPad via hdmi on my TV and I get a better "webtop".
But I still getting it on my head, is it really worth? Maybe is just excitement now with the docks that Atrix have.
Sorry my bad english btw.

So you think better keep my LG? Because it have the hdmi function as well, only not the webtop, but I really dont think it is that better when compare with my Ipad 3.
Hmm...not so sure. One thing that its actually better on the Atrix is the development support. Last time i checked when i was looking to root and update my friend's O3D, the development was kind of dead at the moment. Not so sure how it is now, but it usually slows down with time, so my guess its that it must be kind of dead right now. Atrix's development is not the best one, but its great. And the community here is great. If you are OK with not receiving official ICS, i would do the trade.
I would look for something better though. Maybe a Galaxy Nexus if you can find a deal for it.

Cause the O3D can not get the ICS and stuck on 2.3 forever, thats my fear, on the other hand In Atrix I would get enough custom roms as I can.
Any additional info would be appreciate!

If I look at my Atrix here, I wouldn't choose it again. Honestly, I love the fingerprint scanner - and due to that + the chipset we're pretty stuck on gingerbread. A ton of apps do require ICS and JB and we're pretty stuck; Don't want to sound desperate or pessimistic, but even my P1 runs on JB by now - so I wouldn't swap if I were you.

LG Optimus 3D won't gonna get any ICS it appears... And the Atrix can use JB from custom roms right? So it won't be stuck forever.
If it was me I'd do the trade but I think you should look at other phones too maybe ones with ICS and JB support. But you should also look how active the development is. Luckily us atrix users have great developers

I don't have any other options, and for me... I use my phone to SMS, calls and a little bit web search, but I use alot the HDMI feature to see some movies on my girlfriend's house, so webtop would be cool too.
If I can upgrade, even from custom roms to JB or ICS Im going to be happy anyway, I dont need a powerful smartphone, only one which dont freezes and lags when im texting or awnsering an call like my old Moto Milestone (hate it).
Atrix can do all of them things perfectly and webtop on ICS is looking promising. Or you can use tablet ui which is quite good. If you have no other choice I'd recommend the atrix I'm running epinters latest CM10 build, the battery is great and it is a great daily driver would highly recommend that.

Lies. The ICS leak has semi-good drivers and FP support.
I also think that the Atrix is a better phone. Only issue with it is that the Atrix tends to damage the digitizer by itself. It happens suddenly. One day you are using your phone normally, 100% ok, and the next one you have a dead strip on your digitizer with no response at all. Look that issue up before you make the trade.

Jellybean vs Gingerbread

What are you thoughts on this?
Of course 4.2 is newer and better, but is it actually better on our phone in the real world. I feel that gingerbread on this phone was the best an there really wasn't anything smoother or faster FOR THIS DEVICE.

i don't agree with your statement that '4.2 is better' and that gb runs smoother or faster on this device only, i actually think that 2.3.x was the best android ever made and it all went downhill from there

U need to distinguish between speed and fluidity. GB browser is really, really bad, menus are complicated and UI is unpolished on *every* device. JB is maybe tad slower, but it is better in every aspect except battery consumption wise...

I tried that oxygen rom, and that even without gapps. I got to say, after jelly bean 4.1.2 gingerbread is too slow and too ugly to use it. I rather have little smoother UI and nice looking rom more up to date than old, slow, sluggish, ugly rom. Also gingerbread doesnt have hw acceleration. There you have it.
