Atrix for sale(Dev/Parts phone) - Atrix 4G General

Hey Guys
I'll try to keep the story short. This is my girls phone. A few days ago she gave it a bath in some Earl Grey tea. She noticed this after she got to work and realized her travel mug was open in her purse. She pulled the battery and called me. I picked up the phone a few hours later and gave it another bath. This time in rice for 36 hours. Put the battery back in and fired it up. Nothing. I took the phone apart and used electrical cleaner on all of the components. Back to another rice bath. Put the phone back together and booted up. Green light comes on and it stalls on the start screen. After a minute:
"Modem did not power up (0)
Starting RSD protocol support"
A quick trip to your forum and some searching led me to believe it was indeed a hardware issue. Just because I had some time to kill I used this guide to unlock the bootloaders, root and install CWM.
Tenfar's recovery-en-goapk-0630-1029
Booted back up and still the same modem message. I was able to boot it using Boot Android(No BP). I can confirm now that the screen and all rockers work fine. It will stay booted for about 2 minutes before it reboots itself. I'm assuming because it's trying to talk to the modem and getting no response. Don't really feel like taking the time to logcat it because I'm getting rid of the phone. I called MOTO and they said they would replace the MOBO for 125 with tax.
Since I already got her an HTC Vivid we've decided to see if anyone here at XDA might want to buy the phone before I ebay it. Being a member I would much rather see it go to someone here that can use it. I would like to get about $100 for it. If you have any questions or want more info please send me a PM as I might not check here that often. Also if anyone can think of steps that I've missed to recover this I'm open to suggestions. Sorry if this was long winded I just wanted to give full disclosure.
Thanks

G2 Shut off by itself this morning and won't turn on.

Early this morning, I unplugged my G2 from the outlet before leaving to work. The damn thing just shut off and won't turn on again...
I tried the power button, the optical pad button+power, took out the battery and back in multiple times, many times plugged in and not plugged in.
What a POS phone, I mean we get a 1.3gb usable space not the advertised 4gb, it also "corrects" itself with a hidden mirror OS so it's very difficult to root, plus the damn loose hinges and the screen ribbon exposed when the hinges are fully opened, the screen also has a very subtle yellow hue, plus reports of random reboots, market problem where google goggles won't install, live wallpapers crashing and freezing up, and finally the POS just dying on me when I need it for work.
If you have a G2 with no problems (yeah right) then congrats. I'm really considering withdrawing from the extended contract and going with the iFail.
Sorry for the rant, just a little pissed off and the customer service lady was a real *****.

Yup. Oh BTW. The e39 is also a POS.
You're not alone, man. Between this and the Vibrant headache, I fear my days with T-Mo are numbered. It was a fun decade, but it doesn't look as if they plan to change their course anytime soon.
Unless, of course, they want to start carrying the Desire HD?
We'll see what G2 #2 brings tomorrow. If it's more of the same problems, I will be a disappointed man.
This happened to me too. But I managed to power it back on after fiddling with removing the battery.
Yeah my g2 refused to turn on a couple of times now without taking out the battery and putting it back in.

Sweet observation. You should stay away from both then.
I don't blame you. T-Mobile's customer service has been **** for me too. First they tell me I can exchange it at the store only to have the store tell me no, sorry you have to ship it back. Then they make me pay for shipping, too. As far as the G2 goes, it broke while in my pocket, so no thanks. Maybe they'll rework the hinges soon. Otherwise, I'm just gonna use this crappy ass G1 until the Desire HD comes around.
mines shut off this morning.. first, my on-screen Android Keyboard went missing.. so I shut it off, turned it back on. Then it asked me if I'd give access permission to Google App Engine?? Are they going to start monitoring my apps now?? Just asking? Don't know what that does.. anyways, so after that.. my G2 just sat there til I wen t to go check the time and my phone was off! tried to turn it back on and it wouldn't! So I took the battery out and rebooted. Its on now but this is the second time this week! And not to mention my hinges are starting to become an issue as well! Not cool! They need to bring the Desire HD over so I can replace my G2 with that!
Yeah it happen to my g2 as well. This phone is really not making my android experience any good. tmo need to address these issues ASAP, and i work for them!!! im going to check the "known issues" on the g2 when i get into work 2mrow and see wat is up with this.
i suggest you all who is having these issues to give tmo a call so they have enough calls from customers to generate a ticket with HTC and lvl3 techs to address these issues. Just because tmo is not on these forums and reading about customers issues.
my phone turned off yesterday and also this morning. idk if maybe me trying to snooze the alarm accidently turned it off so im putting my phone in a diff location tonight and checking tomorrow-- if its off tomorrow im calling tmo asap!
My G2 just shut off itself when I was replying to a text. I pulled the battery and reseated it and try turning on but it does not do anything. If I connect it to the charger, the orange charging led just flashes on and off. It's been 20 minutes and I have not been able to turn it back on.
OMG, the desire's symptom comes to G2
Mine as well.
Well my G2 just turned it self off as well today. It was unresponsive to the power button. Took battery out and re-installed and powered back on and has been working ever since but thats just not right.
Edit: Not sure if this is worth anything but this happened shortly after I put the market widget on my home. I've had Beautiful Widget running for a week so don't think that was the problem but not even sure if the market one caused it but thought it might be worth mentioning.
Mine has also soft reboot back to the G2 screen 2 or 3 times now. Dunno what's going on
Sent from my T-Mobile G2
I have had this happen twice. In fact, my phone is in that state now. I am going to the TMO store. However, if I decide to return the phone, it isn't for this issue alone. As a side note, I thought this had happened to me with the TMO phone I was playing with in store before I bought mine.
If you take the battery out, wait about 10seconds, and re-install it you will be able to power the phone back up. Anyway, this behavior could be due to either a bad part or a driver problem.
*UPDATE*
Sadly, after talking to the TMO rep at the store, I elected to return the phone rather than exchange. While they wouldn't say how many, they have gotten "several" phones back because of this. My hats off to the Seattle TMO store as they made the return non-hassle and because I was returning it due to a defect, I didn't have to pay the restocking fee.

Sound advice, especially regarding the e39.
Hey guys,
After another freeze, I was able to actually connect via ADB. The shell was working fine.
Anyways, I did a logcat, and I saw the attached code looping.
http://pastebin.com/DV3uVYJg
It just keeps looping on these audio logs.
Any thoughts?
Anyone else get logcats similar or different than this?

I had the same issue with my phones screen would just shut off and I would have to pull the battery out just to get it back on. I called tmobile and the answer I get is "that is not a known issue but def we will look into it". So all I did was go back to a tmobile store and trade it out for another one. Hopefully this won't happen again.

My $80 Vibrant

So I sold my original vibrant which was in pristine condition and had the box and all accessories to my sister in law for $150.00 plus her upgrade so I could get the Nexus S for $199.99 from best buy. She was happy to do it since she knows how much I love android and she wanted a Vibrant anyway. I love my Nexus S, but I was missing my vibrant and all the cool development with eugene's deadhorse kernel being compatible with the I9000 roms, the release of Krylons Bionix Frost, source code, etc. Which all happened within a week of me getting rid of the vibrant. So, I kept my eyes peeled on craigslist for a good used Vibrant. Bare in mind this is more of a toy for me than a phone.
So Friday I see an add for a Vibrant for $100.00 so I send the number a text inquiring about it and they say "The phone is in great condition, nothing wrong with it." I tried to low ball them and scared them away. So Saturday I text from my wifes phone as a different person. LOL. So I offer $80.00, they say yes, can you meet me in Rose Hill (a little hick suburb right outside the city). So I say "sure, be there in 45 minutes. I'm leaving now." We meet up, she comes over to my car and says she just reset the phone and hands it to me. She's a young, typical, overweight, suburbanite girl. It's booting up so I wait for it to actually boot while I look over the physical condition of the phone. It's in good shape. The phone boots, I unlock the screen, click around on the screen a bit, hey it works. Cool. I give her the eighty bucks and roll out. While driving I get the phone out and immediately realize the capacitive buttons don't work. All four will light up, but no response or vibration. "****!". I reboot...nothing. So I text her "Um, why do the buttons not work on this pone?" She immediately gets defensive "WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?? IT WORKED FINE FOR ME? BLAH BLAH BLAH." So I just reply "weird". I know she knew what was wrong with it. I open the back to check the water exposure indicators. The phone is ok and doesn't appear to have been in water (Haven't actually taken it apart yet). The battery indicator is red though. "Well, ****, she ****ed me" I think to myself. I figure I can at least get my money out of it for parts or even use an app like Button Savior which I have on my Nook Color to replace the capacitive keys.
So the wife and I have a dinner and movie date and we have to head out immediately after i get home from making the buy so I can't really mess with it right away. We get home around midnight, I connect the device to the computer, put it in download mode, flash Stock JFD via Odin, it reboots, and voila the keys now work. I'm stoked.
So this is the text I just sent her. "Hey, just wanted to let you know I fixed the issue with the buttons. Just had to reinstall the stock firmware. Took about five minutes. Thanks again for the phone. Oh and BTW, just so you know, resetting the phone does not format the internal SD card. All your pictures and videos are still on the phone. Thanks again"
She has tons of Myspace style pics of herself on the phone including her with her bare ass, in her underwear, and bathing suit. LOL.

I hear that, Bro. They're already gone, but she doesn't need to know that. She deserves the embarrassment. She could have and should have been honest about what was wrong with it and she could have probably still sold it for what she was asking.

Yeah, man, camera and video camera work perfect. both speakers, mic, line out port, everything that you'd think would be damaged if the phone was exposed to water works. The only thing that's acting up is when the internal SD card is mounted to the PC it will randomly unmout then remount itself sometimes. I'm gonna reformat the internal SD, and flash a new rom and see if that helps takes care of that.
Now That's a funny story.......... Ugh! the only trumatic part of the story is seeing pixs of her big nasty Butt...............
damn $80?? i wish i find a deal like that for CM7.

Good buy man.
Sucks that people don't just search around read.
I'm pretty sure half the things people sell cause they're 'messed up,' are easy fixes, they just don't bother searching enough/trying things.

You're totally right about that, man. A good friend of mine owns a few Cell phone stores around town. They are pretty much the most reliable place in town for physical and software repairs, Jailbreaking iphones, rooting androids, etc. You wouldn't believe the deals they get on phones because people think their devices are ruined. Funny thing is, most of the time it's people trying to be sneaky and thinking they are getting one over on the store. LOL.
The funny thing about my situation is if she would have just been honest about the condition of the phone she more than likely could have sold the phone for parts for what she was asking.
EDIT: Just realized I already said the bit about being able to sell it for parts previously in the thread. Whoops.
Oh, and I fixed the SD mounting issue. Phone is now perfect.

So instead of enjoying the evening with your wife, you go straight to the computer to mess with your phone? Missed opportunity, methinks. But otherwise, nice deal! You can probably sell that for at least double what you paid for it.
Didn't interfere with time with my wife at all. Took me five minutes. Literally. That was all I was going to try last night too. I figured I'd try flashing via Odin to see if that would fix it and if it didn't I'd mess with it more in the morning. Mission complete before the wife even knew I had sat down at the computer.

I had somewhat of the same situation but when I bought a mytouch slide. Slides go for around 150 to 200 bucks on CL. I had some chick selling a red one for 80 bucks. Supposedly the only thing wrong was the back case had glue on it??? So I do the meet up thing and check it out. The screen is flawless and the back is pretty messed up. No biggie. It turns on and everything seems good. So off I go with the phone. Well she takes off almost instantly, which seemed odd. And I take a look at in sitting in the truck for a second and set it in the cupholder and it turns off. I thought maybe just the screen shut off. Nope. You couldn't even open the KB without the phone shutting off.
So long story short... I get home and take it completely apart and one of the battery contacts had glue on it. Again, I have no idea why. So I scrape the glue off the contact and BOOM. Works like a champ. And 10 bucks for a new back plate on amazon and its practically brand new.
I got the slide just as a backup for my vibrant and to have another phone to play around with.
Just thought I would share.

Nice one, man. I don't know why people feel it necessary to pass their own ****-ups onto others. I feel like here I am, a guy who works hard for his money so he can support his family and here's this little brat that probably has her parents hand her everything. Did she really need my eighty bucks that bad? Honestly if the phone would have been broken and she pulled that **** on me ten years ago it wouldn't have ended well for her. Not to sound like some kind of macho jerk, but it's the truth.
Heh, reminds me of the G1 I bought from a pawn shop. They didn't even bother doing a factory reset on it, I powered it up and some ****ty rap music started playing, and a bunch of "Text not sent" notifications popped up. Still had all the ugly broad's texts, calls, contacts, pics, music, etc.

Hidden download mode on Vibrant?

Guys. Just playing around with my used Vibrant. I flashed it with a few odin variations from I9000 (noob me). I guess you know what happens. It failed to boot up with a scary screen of Phone-!-PC sign (of course Odin didnt complain at all).
I tried so many combinations of keys (in panic) to get it to download mode and nothing worked. That horrible sign would just be there as soon as the phone is reset thru all methods...(3-buttons, 2-buttons, battery pullin, usb pullin, hair pullin)
However, then I noticed Odin screen say "Added!" message with a yellow comport sign while I was still trying in panic...and feeling hopeless as the screen is still with the deadly sign Phone-!-PC.
So I thought it probably was a fluke since there's no Android Download sign on screen... I decided to push my luck and flashed a different version with Odin. It worked!
Just a tid bid to share in case you hit this condition. If Odin sees the fone, you might have a chance.
UPDATE: Forgot to mention how it gets to the "Added" message on Odin. I hit power button and reset fone until it comes up. Then hit vol +/- buttons at once. Odin would says "Added!" message... you're good to go.
This is well known by most of the community and has been covered multiple times.
No troll intended.

Duh for me. Now I'm at a worse nightmare. I dont think its been solved. While I was successfully flashed the Vibrant to new 2.3.4 firmware. I got mixed up with my 2nd Vibrant by plugin the cable to my SGS4G. As I had laid it on the same work table while trying to get SIM card out for testing. It is hard-bricked!
No power activity no lighting whatsoever after the successful flash. So... i set out to build a USB JIG... after many trials. The JIG worked well on the Vibrant everytime, yet still not able to resurrect the SGS4G...
God damn these fones are almost exactly the same. Anyone got directions to build a time machine? I wish I can just turn back the knob to the second before I hit the start button on Odin. I wonder what I can do with a $200 SGS4g hard brick.
Hmm.... very stylish paper weight?

I'm really Stephen Hawking. I can build you one for $550,238,295,588,299.99 OR you can just buy yourself a new phone. I think the new phone is a much wiser option since it's 2,751,191,477,941 times cheaper.
But really... just because you're phone is a paper weight doesn't mean you can use the parts. Just look at what you have. The 4g camera itself is at least $25. There are people that want to use the battery cover and spend at least $10 just for that. Then there are other things such as the digitizer, etc. Look at this here. This person is selling his/her phone for $100 as a broken device. Just some advice.

You can try selling it on ebay or CL. I've seen some listings there. But before you do that, PM me first.
Got it back
Hehe. Yeah thanks u all posting good advices. I did search around for options for a bit while keep marveling it on my desk... just a beautiful piece of gadget.
Parting it out, the screen would be $100+ already. I saw some on eBay $115~$130 range. And quite some time and effort to get it sold....
I registered on Samsung with the IMEI number, it shows still in-warranty. Talked to the tech, obviously it's a user service issue since I caused the brick. They say its a flat-fee service of $75. Whoa! ... got my heart jumped again. I was about to send it in... then I saw some CL items with cracked screens (of the 3G model)... bought one for $45 and decide to take the risks.
You know what I gonna do. ...I gut the SGS3G and use the screen/frame of my dead SGS4G. Of course, this'd be a downgrade dead 4G->3G. I tested the cables/plugs & parts (mainboard doesnt fit yet), put in battery, hit power button and voila! it came to life!
The circuit board of the 3G doesn't fit flush into the 4G screen frame. it has 2 protruding thingy about 1mm high... Just clip off those 2 metal markers and replace the 3.5mm jack/earpeice/light sensor assy over from the 3G and its all perfect again (the plug is slightly/wider & different in the 4G model, though layout/design & fit is exactly the same).
PHEW! A hasty second costs me $45 and quite a few hours on the net. I thanks to this forum for most of the help. This is just great.
P.S: The flat-fee service is for ANYthing except screen replacement which is around $165 parts & labor (in case some of u wonder, i did too since some ppl selling really cheap busted screen SGS3G out there)

[Q] Dead Nexus?

Hello there. I went to Los Angeles last month and after a little research on tablet pcs, I decided to buy a nexus for my wife. Since I had no time to order it online, decided to visit a retail store at Santa Monica called Macmall.
I was bringing this as a gift, so I bought it and opened it right away just to make sure it was working properly.
So, I went back to argentina, wife happy with her nexus, until yesterday.
She came crying saying that the nexus was broken.
The screen is showing nothing but vertical lines. The touchscreen is responding to finger swipes and sound works, but of course all of that is useless since screen is defective.
She swears she didn't hit, drop or wet the tablet pc, I did check it many times and it has absolutely no signs of mistreatment.
I turned it off, soft reset pressing power for ten seconds, removed the cover and the battery, and once, I was able to see the Google logo properly but quickly vanished into lines again.
So... What options do you think I have?
Nexus is not being sold on my country and Google is giving me no support at all.
I contacted Asus through their website, still waiting for an answer but I'm not sure if they will help since I'm far away from USA.
I'll appreciate any help, or piece of advice you can give me.
You might be in luck. I had a problem with the speaker once, thinking it was the hardware, and I thought I would have to return it. I think for fixing your screen problem, you should reflash the stock Rom. If you are unfamiliar with what I am trying to say, it is basically like reinstalling the stock Operating System (Android). Find out how to reflash the stock Rom. Since you could see the Google logo properly, i'm pretty sure it isn't hardware. Might just be a corrupted stock Rom. Here is a guide that should work: Click Here. It will wipe all of your data/storage so it will be like your Nexus 7 came out of the box.
Best of luck recovering it!
Edit: What is also very weird is it seems like it happened suddenly. Not out of the box, but randomly.

Thanks for the answer. I may have not expressed myself correctly.
I'm not seeing anything on the screen but those annoying vertical lines.
After removing the battery a few times, once showed me the Google logo, just a one second flash, and then the lines again.
The only person I saw with this very same problem, had it as you said, straight from the box.
I asked my wife and she updated the nexus a few days ago and barely used it, so even if it sounds weird it could be a software issue.
Question is, will I be able to reinstall the stock OS just guessing where to push, I mean, with only those lines on the screen. I'm like... Blindfolded

Oh now I see. First, anyway, do not manually remove your battery. That might affect something. To force shutdown hold down the volume down and power button for about 10-20 seconds until it turns off. Now, with the vertical lines, now i'm pretty sure since you clarified, it is the software. I think I know a fix for reflashing the stock Rom. Use this toolkit: Here. Click the option "Flash stock and unroot". Try that and it will Flash stock. Try software updating once it works and you could boot up without the problem. If it still has the problem if you software update (Unlikely), then just do that again and keep it at stock version.
Hope this helps!

Once again, thanks.:good:
I'm still not allowed to post any URLs, but I found a video on youtube of a guy with exactly the same problem.
Just search "Jon417silka nexus" and you'll see it.
I'm dowloading this NexusRootToolkit you recommended, it's +200MB so it'll take a while.
I have no skills on flashing or rooting any device, but I have read the instructions and doesn't seem to be too complicated.
I'll be awake all night trying to solve it if it's necessary.
I'll let you know how it went in a few hours.
Well... I finally downloaded the nexus root toolkit.
It was kinda easy actually, just had some hard time trying to enable the USB debugging mode, since... well i can't see anything on the screen.
I was able to download the drivers, and run the stock rom but, unfortunately, no luck on the screen.
Im just seeing green lines which i assume is the green android logo on the center on the first boot or something.
by the way, google answered me today saying somthing like, they cant do anything since im outside the us, so i have to contact asus.
It's too bad flashing the stock rom didn't fix it, I'd say it seems to be a hardware problem.
Even if you were in USA, google will only help you if you bought it within 14 days from Google Play Store.
You should call Asus Argentina [ http://latin.asus.com/Static_WebPage/Service_center_argentina/ ] and explain what is wrong, and give them the serial number. The number is located somewhere on the box, and on a removable sticker on the bottom back of the Nexus [As well as in the Settings, but you cannot read the screen so that is useless]. If you can't find the serial number, you might be able to get it via adb, but I'm not sure.
Asus has a 1 year warranty on tablets, but I'm not completely positive what they will say since it was bought in USA, and you are now in Argentina. But hopefully they will be able to RMA it and repair/replace your device. gl!
Yeah, it has to be hardware. I think you should follow Sikagoon7's advice and return it because it is under law. It couldn't be your or your wife's fault, because as you described, there were no scratches or anything. I guess it just might be a bad device. Replace it because the Nexus 7 is so worth it.
Probly gpu chipset. Its getting distorting at high frequency. Since first logo is a small frequency image and some times provided for BIOS its show normal. (Thats my guess)

I was giving up all my hopes on this, plugged the nexus to the computer and clicked the OEM lock to return to its original factory state.
You know... I don't want them to say my warranty it's void for messing with it.
Of course, I didn't noticed any changes, swiped my finger a couple times and then...
WHAT THE....
The lines vanished and screen started to function properly, a few lines were noticeable for a few moments, now the screen is fine.
Now things got even weirder...
My wife it's been using it for two hours, with Monsters Ate My Condo (which may be pushing the cpu a little bit) and it's working flawlessly.
Problem is... I'm pretty sure that if the screen turns off it will die again.
Is there a way to keep the nexus always on, never go to sleep, just dim the screen to minium brightness or something...
Any other solution you guys think i can try is also welcome.
Please understand that returning this to Asus will be my last resort (if they decide to accept it, which I'm not sure).
Once again, thanks for everyone's time and replies
If you can not turn off your screen without it breaking it I would RMA it back to Asus.

Well... It worked properly for two hours, now it died again.
I wanted RMA to be my last resort, but I'm running out of options here...
Did you already start the RMA process?

No, I haven't.
I don't even know where to start...
The fact that I live in Argentina may be a complication.
Since Asus is does not sell the Nexus here, they probably won't help me at all.
And the distance may be a problem since shipping to USA is quite expensive.
I contacted Asus via their global website, still waiting for an answer.
This option kind of sucks but maybe you should sell it cheaper to someone on xda have them use the warranty exchange and you could buy another one also possibly from xda. Like i said it sucks but it may be your best option at this point.

I'm gonna bump this old thread I started about a year ago, to share with you guys the rest of the story.
I contacted north american ASUS RMA by email since Google is not taking any responsibility for their tablet.
And latin american ASUS won't take my warranty as valid.
I tried to explain my complicated situation to the RMA guy. It was a little hard to understand since my english is not flawless.
But I had a friend flying to united states, he carried my broken nexus with him and sent it to repair as soon as he arrived.
Tricky part was: he was only staying for 10 days. So ASUS had ten days to receive, repair, and send the Nexus back to my friend so he could bring it to Argentina.
I crossed my fingers and decided to wait, fortunately they did a good job and now it's working back again.
However I noticed the battery doesn't lasts for as long as I expected...
Anyway thanks to everyone for sharing ideas and for your time.

Urgent screen replacement question. Please help!

So last night, around 7 or 8, I was waiting for my train at the station in philadelphia.
All of sudden, right before i got onto the train, this one black dude runs upto me and snatched my g2 out of my hands and started to run. Wtf.
I ran after him and tripped his legs while he was running. he fell hard, and my g2 flew. I wish that dude at least got a broken nose.
Anyways, I quickly recovered my g2 and got onto the train, and checked if it was okay.
I noticed the screen got cracked on the bottom right corner. FML.
The crack was really bad, but "luckly", I dont think the falling tempered with any functions of the phone. Everything was working fine.
Im thinking of sending the phone in for a warrenty.
But i rooted my phone a day before.
I was just wondering, would going back to completely stock take care of the root counter, or whatever it is called?
If not, someone please recommend me another option to fix my phone.....
Ps. Do not pull ur phone out alot, if not all in public places (especially in bad neighborhood and/or in the city). People will not help you if this ever happens to you. There was over 30+ people when this shiit happened.

I'm sorry to hear that happened to you. Based on what you've stated, you only rooted, meaning you still have the original recovery, which is more imperative than the root, as root is easy to get rid of. All you got to do is based on what SuperSU you're running, you hit menu or go to it's respective settings, and there should be an option to unroot! Easy as 1, 2, 3! :victory:
Hope it helps, if not specify the app you're using and I will be able to do more direct instructions!

That's crazy man, i've been a little paranoid myself taking my phone out in public (i also live in philadelphia) and now i see that im not just paranoid.
Anyway, if you have AT&T it depends on the shipping you select. the first two replacement Xperia TLs i had only took 3-5 days. the third replacement the guy gave me free one day shipping (the third time i went to a different device support center) the previous two replacements required you to pay for one day shipping.
So its fast depending on what you choose. if you have verizon though then im not sure, but its probably similar.
As a side note, i do not recommended the Sony Xperia TL lol. i would not question my luck that i got three defective phones in a row, but most likely i think Sony just needs to get their **** together. very glad i went with the G2 to say the least.
