[Q] Where are Bluetooth HID config files kept? - Galaxy Tab 7.7 General

There's a problem with lag after a 1-2 second timeout on all external bluetooth HID devices. I don't have a way to test with USB HID input devices, unfortunately. I know that this has been fixed with ICS (at least on the Galaxy Nexus), but until that comes out, I'd like to play around with the Bluetooth HID config files and see if I can't find a timeout value of some kind. Does anyone know where they are stored? Whether they're regular xml files or in apk files? It'd be great to figure it out and solve this problem.

[Q] Creating an event when bluetooth starts?

Hi, im wondering if and how (any tutorials?) i could get a command to start another event? Say bluetooth is started and i want it to start something else, How would i go about it?
I'd prefer to learn how to do it but dont have a clue where to start!
your application can listen for the ACTION_STATE_CHANGED broadcast Intent, which the system will broadcast whenever the Bluetooth state has changed. This broadcast contains the extra fields EXTRA_STATE and EXTRA_PREVIOUS_STATE, containing the new and old Bluetooth states, respectively. Possible values for these extra fields are STATE_TURNING_ON,STATE_ON, STATE_TURNING_OFF, and STATE_OFF. Listening for this broadcast can be useful to detect changes made to the Bluetooth state while your app is running.

[Q] [Request] Iconia Dock and Remote Control

Hi Devs/guys,
Today i have just purchased myself the official Iconia A500 Docking station and micro-HDMI cable to test this on my 1080 monior and led tv.
Initial impressions are good however i've noticed that the quality when output the HDMI is very grainey and not as crisp as i had hoped!
Anyways, whilst playing around with the dock through the TV, the remote controls seem ok to get around with easy navigation but i've had to create lots of applications shortcuts as i cannot natively access the 'apps' option with the remote. The play and pause options on the remote also are not application specific etc which is a pain.
A few ideas for this which came to mind are as follows;
1. Is it possible to fine tune or change the HDMI output settings through an application or by modifying any system files on the A500 with root? Features such as having additional hardware profiles which allow you to kill the screen on the A500 and promote all rendering power to the HDMI out so as not to reduce framerates would be nice.
2. Is it possible to create a small application with allows you intercept commands from the remote control and then apply the relevant button command to a mapped profile for a specific app or game?
Did i mention the word 'profile' enough on this?
Just my initial impressions but feel free to comment if you have the dock and remote and encountered other issue or have other ideas!
FIN
Anyone? Lol
I must be making all the boring requests
Hi ddelamareuk,
No, it's a interesting topic , but not so many users have dock and hdmi device
I think request 2 is possible. Acer make lirc related things in kernel, and lirc will make a corresponding keyinput event when it received a ir event.
I will take a research in it, even though I don't have dock station
Thanks
Hey Roggin!
I have more tech than common sense lol
Would be good then in that case if we could create a small app to trap incoming ir commands then map them to a game or app profile for whatever is active on screen!
Is it lazy that i want to do everything with remote?
Thanks for the interest!!

[Q] Bluetooth and search on Google/Yahoo/Market.

Does the N2E (1962934272 bytes eMMC) have bluetooth or not. Confusing threads out there so…. If yes, how can it be enabled and can it be used to listen to music on bluetooth headphones?
Search anywhere switches to the B&N search… can that be configured to do search where its intended?
EDIT: Hoping to listen to music so if there is any other alternative to bluetooth.
i got the search on google/yahoo working by installing Opera mini browser but i can't get search in market... it goes to B&N search.
I tried the apks from both these posts but i get [INSTALL_FAILED_ALREADY_EXISTS] for both.

Please help.
Bluetooth anyone?
Fallows, mayby we need to remove apk of search somehow?
domi.nos, could u please give removal instructions...
Sure. But guys you see I don't own a Nook now, it should be mine in 2 weeks. So I am unable to test it but I know in Android a bit.
I've digget a bit in 1.01 update file. Could someone check if you can fix that after you delete a file /system/app/GlobalSearch.apk?
If it doesn't work you'd better copy it again.
But i am concerning to make default launcher and other apps use normal android Search. We even have it in out system files, but i dont have nook so unable to do anything.
Just, could anyone check what it going on if you delete it?
And if some problems are going on on device just update it using http://su.barnesandnoble.com/nook/n...Dpomf5qvKtTeXxjxcgaa2cS/nook_1_0_1_update.zip
Hi, any update on this? Do you know how to fix "search" issue - I cannot use several apps because of that (e.g. dolphin mini browser, slideme market,..)
I tried to delete Globalsearch.apk but it didn't help.
Sorry definitely no Bluetooth. At first we thought it did but we were getting confused with a very similar chip (part number ending 0A rather than 2A). The block diagram for the chip in the Nook clearly has Bluetooth crossed out:
http://www.jorjin.com/WG7310-20.html
What made it confusing was that it still has `BT` in the specs, but this is referring to WiFi BT coexistance mode.
So the only way to add Bluetooth would be to get a 0A chip and replace it with the 2A chip on the board. But this scale of soldering is too fiddly to be worth it and practically impossible at this scale.
Hope this clears things up.

[Q] Wired controller touch mapping

Dear Members,
I have a wired Xbox 360 controller and want to map its controls to touches but I do not know how and whit which program.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks!
1) They should be mapped automatically, have you tried connecting it already, or are you asking prior to connecting it?
2) Maybe you can customize control in the app? I think a couple of games support that.
3) http://source.android.com/devices/tech/input/key-layout-files.html
you can play around with keylayouts. Plug in you controller, and go check in mentioned folders for right file. It should say xbox 360 controller in the top of the file if you open it in any text editor/viewer. Editing those files will require root and break future OTA updates, so backup originals first.
The step 3 shouldn't be necessary, though.

They are mapped automatically if the game supports it. In GTA3 it works like a charm but in NFS MW I cannot make it work: the game needs touches to control and I want to map the controller buttons to specific areas of the screen so the game thinks I touched the screen.
No, no, they ARE mapped automatically. Now whether the game uses these mappings is a different topic.
I apologize, I didn't see you mentioned mapping to touches.

This might solve your problems, I think you will need root for it.

Is there a way to change the default media apps on joying

I have a JY-UM135N2PX5 and I want to change the default music and video apps, I dont really want to replace them as much as change them
Im not sure what music player I want right now but I want VLC as the default video player so that when I change the source it will be the media players I use rather than the built-in ones
The navi button has this option but I cannot find any way to do this with the media apps
I tried setting the default in android thinking that maybe it cycled the default android apps but that didnt seem to work however I used an older app so Im not sure if that has anything to do with it as it seemed to have compatibility issues with the version of android I have

You need Xposed with XFytTweaker.
(and maybe)
I was working on a "poor mans" solution that didn't require Xposed. It does this by replacing the radio, media, dvd and video app with identical apps (with regard to internal package name) that check a setting for a configured app. So for example the media app is com.syu.music, and that one is started from the main server apk. My replacement apk is also com.syu.music (a reason why I need to replace them) and checks for a setting which program to start.
The internal config of my apps is 100% correct and it works on my phone and on any emulator, but not on the Joyings (yet). I assume it is something with signing, but on a different level. As if there is an extra check inside the main server (Sofiaserver.apk or 000000000_com.syu.ms.apk).
If I get it to work, they simply install from my JET apk and can be configured via my JET apk. Of course they only work for apps assigned to the units hardware buttons, or that are somehow started from the main server apk. For the time being I stopped it though. I thought it was quite easy to achieve, but it is not.
And Xposed/XFytTweaker is so much more flexible.

I have both but I wasn't aware you could do that with xfyttweaker I know you can reprogram the hardware keys but Im looking just to switch the media apps I want the rest, would I need to readd the stock apps and just add my own media players instead of the stock ones or can I choose which ones I want to replace, I looked around a little in xfyttweaker but it wouldnt do what I wanted which was to get rid of that stupid floating button, I thought it was hardcoded but I found a setting to turn it off and found out its called touch assistant I had been all through the settings to learn what I could do with the head unit and set it the way I want but I didnt realize what touch assistant was I thought it was some kind of enhancer for the touchscreen
