Is it possible to get the dolphin browser downloaded onto the kindle fire, because it does not show up in the google play market. and when i followed the link on the site to the google play market it says my device is incompatible. is there a way to trick it into letting me download it or anything?
I have Dophin HD running on my rooted KF. I just copied the APK file over from my Tbolt and then installed it.
I have it on mine as well (on cm9 reloaded rom).

Pretty much this. You can sideload the apk and it functions just fine. Been running it on mine for a good while now.

easy, in 4shared.com just searh dolphin hd apk . (not rooted, it work) or better opera mobile. download on opera site.
Even easier option is to get it from getjar.com or Slideme.

Okay, so I rooted my kindle fire with no problem and I got "Android Market" installed but it is an older version that looks kind of funny and it is not letting me install any of my apps (or any apps from the store). I want the newest one because I have two different Google Accounts with different purchased apps on them. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!
Where did you download the Android Market?
Check what version your Android Market is:
1. Go to Settings-->Applications-->Third Party Applications
2. Scroll down and select "Market"
The version should be 3.3.11

Also note that there seems to be a filter on the market that doesn't allow all applications to be downloaded on the Fire
You can sideload those apps though, as long as they are compatible with the Kindle Fire

Vending.apk is the problem. All the tutorials had that as the app to use. For me, it was never starting any downloads and yes it was the old market version.
Try com.amarket.apk from the gapps.zip, that worked for me first try.
Use the vending.apk on this post. It is the one that got market fully functional for me.

How did you install?
I installed vending.apk, got same starting download issue. I copied the gapps market apk to sys, chmod to 644 and tried to install. Starts install and then just says Application Not Installed.

This is a good choice. I was using it for a bit on my HTC flyer before I rooted and installed on my Fire.

Hi all,
As per the thread title, is there any known way to get flash working with any browser on the Nexus 7?
You can install a separate APK from online, as in the Play Store flash is listed as incompatible. It should work fairly well with most browsers, however Chrome does not support Flash at all.

So how is web browsing on the 7? Any lag in browsing or typing ...loading pages..etc?

Browsing with Chrome is super smooth. There was some noticeable lag at first, but after the OTA update, everything ran a lot smoother, and haven't noticed any lag since. Typing is just as smooth too. For some graphic-intensive pages, the whole site doesn't show-up while you're scrolling until you stop scrolling, but it's a very minor issue.
Browsing is really nice in Chrome. Better than Dolphin HD in fact. I'd like to know how to get flash to install though to use with Dolphin HD. I have Flash 11 .apk but it will not install and noting else is showing up in GP. Anyone?

I'm having the same problem. I heard that is has to do with the OTA update messing with the ability to install Flash. Other APK's installed fine, so I can't think of why else.
i installed flash player from an APK & it works for me.
you can download the apk from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28734102&postcount=5
if its not working then use TiBU to restore it.

Well, right now I'm not rooted, and it's just popping up an alert saying "Can't open file", which is what the other APK I downloaded said. Have you done the OTA update?

I'm rooted & running a custom Modaco ROM. You you need to unrar the file & install the apk.

Thanks, i haven't actually got my tablet shipped yet but just wondering for when it does come. Can't believe adobe killed off flash since most of websites websites require flash. Html5 is at least 2, 3 years away

It's pretty much dead for every system but windows anyway. Linux flash support has always been crap and they gave up on that too.
I thought it was bad when they didn't support PPC Linux. For being an internet standard they surely are limited.

Hi,
Just wondering of there is a mirror for this file,
I'm receiving a download error for the link/apk provided.

I've been wanting to get this feature back on my wife's KF that I flashed to ICS.
the Amazon Video app WILL NOT work on a Nexus 7. It won't run on ICS or higher.
You have to download the flash apk and use an alternative browser such as firefox, ics browser + or dolphin and watch through the browser.
i have read reports that Jelly Bean 4.1.1 breaks flash so you can't even install it, in which case amazon video is impossible on the Nexus 7.
Questions go in the Q&A section
Install the apk & use Dolphin HD to watch Amazon Instant Video via web browser.
EDIT: I included flash player from my TiBU

Got it working!
Have an SGS III with CM10 JellyBean Nightly (cm-10-20121008.....). Ran it from the stock browser provided by CM10. User Agent was left as default (Android). I installed the flash file provided by the above link. I did have to request Full Site to view. Cannot view from mobile site.
Installed ics 4.0.3 everything works great and love it! But youtube doesn't work. I know its expected behavior, but was wondering if there is a work around or I missed something. Additionally, chrome is not loading page under kindle fire. While it opens fine but nothing is showing up.

What ROM are you using? YouTube should work with most of the ICS/CM9 Roms.
I am using the rom/CM9 from this link - is it too old? Where I can find the most stable version?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1411895
I didn't have the Google Apps package installed, I downloaded the youtube app from the play store, is this the root cause?

downloaded gedeROM, reflashed the device, worked like a charm. Both youtube and chrome problems are fixed. I guess it's just a rom problem.
Thanks all
I am trying to get amazon videos to work on my nexus 7. I have an otherwise stock 4.2.2. I found a post on this forum that had a link to download the kindle fire rom and I extracted the apk files and installed the ones mentioned in the post. All of them install except account and sync settings. i created the amazon account in the settings menu and tried to open the video app but it keeps crashing. Has anyone been able to get this working on a nexus 7?
I use firefox and flash. It freezes up every once in a while bit for the most part it works.

I tried Firefox and dolphin browser but neither would recognize that flash was installed. Dolphin browser flat says they won't support flash in 4.2.

It will not work. It is dependent on the KF's framework files and OS verification. The post you followed is extremely outdated.
Until Amazon chooses to provide support, the only workaround is to use a compatible web browser and Flash.

The latest update of dolphin doesn't support flash. Boat browser works for me. Only enable flash when you want to watch amazon videos. Since the last jb update having flash enabled will cause the browser to lock up on websites that have embedded video.
