i tried cold boot , but it said cold booting up linux .. but no response
i tried wipe device , but it still freeze on ASUA screen too
yesterday, i try to root and install CWM via Prime V4.5
then the device comes this .....
Thanks ...

Never heard of that root utility before. You may not have used the right rooting utility for your device which can cause a brick situation. Also, are u sure u dont have the tf 101 and not thr tf prime? The vipermod utility found in the tf prime forum will root ics for both the 101 and prime. My suggestion is that u make sure u have the right device and search the right forum for brick recovery, unroot, or return to stock threads. They are usually found in the development sections.

viperMod PrimeTime 4.5 will only root the TF101 and shouldn't be used to install CWM. That's why it bricked.

I might be able to help you... I saw your post around 4am. I had the same problem kinda. Was asleep most the day (got done at 6am).
I rooted with viperMod PrimeTime and it worked !
BUT i forgot to FLASH CWM RECOVERY from inside the app and proceeded to install the new ROM after root was made USING the CWM app. What happened in my case , the CWM app restarted trying to flash the new ROM, WITHOUT CWM being my recovery instead rebooted to STOCK recovery and something glitched up. I had the same thing as you stuck on Eee pad never re-starting. Cold boot wouldn't work or full wipe..In my case something conflicted.
Below is the NVFlash of the 3.2 Build of 8.6.5.13 (Latest Build). You need to re-flash again using APX threw your USB connected to a PC (it self installs) :
http://www.tabletroms.com/forums/tr...stock-3-2-recovery-roms-unbricking-tools.html
the links are in Grey btw and says US version, ect ..read everything but its very straight forward... ill explain what i did toward the end of the post to simplify it since it took awhile to figure it out. Ill add side comments threw the process that explains better than the link.
Attention: These tools are designed to bring your device back to working condition. They are great for getting back to stock if you need to send your device in for repair or you need to downgrade to stock in order to root your device, etc.
Instructions for Windows users:
1. download the file from the original link i gave above. NVFlash of the 3.2 Build of 8.6.5.13 (Latest Build) USWindows
2. unpack zip to desktop.
3. Press Volume up and Power at the same time on your Transformer to enter APX mode, connect to pc (hold for about 7 seconds). Basically, Power off.. THAN, power and Volume up at the same time to enter APX mode. IMPORTANT!! the screen remains BLACK like its frozen ,with no writing or indication something is happening. that's normal and the original poster in the link never mentioned it. That is APX mode..
4. drivers for APX are in there if you need them..inside the windows downloaded file its called NVFLASH towards the bottom
On your PC go Device manager.. if APX is working correctly and the Transformer is in APX mode it will appear as an exclamation on the device manager named APX.. you cant miss it.. it stands out. On my Windows 7 PC it changed and said Asus USB (or something like that)
5. double click Run Download.bat file and let run! everything is prepackaged so no copying files, etc. In the same file you downloaded that you unzipped named Windows its the 4th file that says "download" with a gear looking icons.
Your Transformer (based on what happened with mine) will go threw a self install like its pushing files and flashing it..the black screen looks like its being pushed the files and reflashing without a recovery. Your going back to stock. if you dont see anything on your Transformer screen after running/double clicking the Download.bat file ....Right click on APX in the device manager , properties, Drivers, update Firmware, choose manual install and find the Downloaded.bat file and click it. That should do the trick..I did both and only noticed the Transformer lighting up after manually pushing it threw APX.
6. After the device reboots power it off. Then hold vol- and power until you get the option to erase your data.... Select the option to wipe data.
7. Download the latest update from the Asus website if applicable and follow the manual instructions. This step may not be necessary if your OTA update worked or my nvflash is the latest version. US update on there site is 9.2.1.17.Its the only one...
What i did was go back to stock since i didn't see any interesting ROMS..Point is THAT unbricked my device by flashing it in APX mode when it was connected to the PC.
I did use ViperMod again to Root, but used the Clockwork mod app in my Transformer to FLASH CWM RECOVERY to try a few ROMS out.
After trying a few of them out i choose to revert everything to stock, unrooted and reflashed STOCK recovery.
Hopefully that helps you out.. it did work for me...

Thank you so much it worked great

Glad i could help

Sorry to dig up slightly old threads, but I have a question for you. I have a TF101 that I was trying to update to ICS. It is currently running 3.2 courtesy of the unbricking tool listed in this thread. I had to unstore it as it was bricked from a bad install. That was many moons ago. It won't show an updaate listed, so I decided to go with the manual route. I downloaded the appropriate update (my device lists WW version) loaded it on an SD card had the install prompt come up and rebooted to install... For a split second it shows the android with the gears like it is installing the update and then shows the android with a triangle and exclamation mark. After that, nothing. I have to reboot to get it off that screen. Upon booting, I get a message saying system update failed (2) unknown error. Any ideas?

If Im not mistaken, the zip file you download (I guess from asus?) contains another zip.
Thats the zip you should place on your SD card, did you do that?

Also try renaming that zip to EP101_SDUPDATE.zip (the one extracted)

I already had the zip extracted, and renaming didn't do anything.

Are you rooted? Did you remove any system apps?
Another thing to try is on your micro sd card, make a folder name ASUS and inside that folder another folder call Update, inside the Update folder put the extracted zip file (don't rename). Turn off TF and turn it back on, see if it will detect the update file.
If that fail, you did mentioned you use the unbricking tool, use that NVFlash to flash a compatible ICS ROM

It isn't rooted anymore since I ran the unbricking tool, and no system files were modified. Placing it in Asus>Update folder didn't work. I may end up having to really do things manually...

You don't need to be root to use NVFlash.

Just when with a slightly older version of the update and it worked. There may be something wrong with the file Asus has hosted.

Hi
I have a slightly different problem. I have rooted my B60 serial number, it has the ICS from ASUS on it and it boots fine, its rooted and it works. Now the problem is I thought lets try a clockwork mod and play with custom roms.
So I set my win 7 up to adb etc, and pressed power button volume button - and off to recovery I went...
but all I got was a little green android on its back chest open and an exclamtion mark. No adb fastboot devices command.
I seem not to have a recovery nor a way of forcing a custom recovery.
Should I NV flash or just be happy the tab works and leave well alone?
Any other answers since a lack of recovery may come back to haunt me sooner or later.
I also tried the power button vol uyp for 7 secs and nothing happens I can get to the cold boot erase data option on power down, don't want to do that yet since Im not sure what data gets erased and I may have a totally non working tab.

Use RecoveryInstaller to install cwm recovery

Use RecoveryInstaller to install cwm recovery
This is my problem I can't get recovery - nor can I get adb to see the device. It shows as a hard drive/storage device but not in adb.

Touch Wiz update messed tab up please help!

ok so here is what happened i have a stock US retail wifi only 16gb tab no clockwork recovery or none of that , im kind of a noob when it comes to that stuff, so today i received the update cool i downloaded it but it didn't install the first time for some reason. The it said a previous update was sucessfully downloaded but did not install do i wish to instal so i clicked yest and it said tab is about to reboot, clicked ok and it took me to this black and grey screen like the boot screen only with a loadbar and it zoomed to 100 percent. then i got the original samsung galaxy boot logo and the noise but no animation then the screen goes to this nasty screen with alot of colorful lines and dots everywhere and i cant see anything looks terrible.
Heres what i can do i can go into the bootloader by pressing power and volume. and i already tried to do a restore/wipe but didnt help, i can also plug it in to the computer and use the sd card and put and remove files from tab. im wondering if i can somehow get the update put it in the tab and install from there and see if it works or if i can get stock honeycomb and try to see if that works because they guy at samsung was clueless he didnt get the fact that i cant use the OS and said i need to get it serviced when i know its a software problem.
exact same thing happened to me! keep me posted
I've just got absolutely the same problem. I have a stock wifi 32gb version.
If you can get to your bootloader and sdcard still then why don't you just install CWM and try flashing the stock 3.1 OTA?
All the files you need and instructions are here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1171089
Once you're done flash the stock recovery back and try the update again, or just wait for one of the devs to release a flashable zip.
sorry if im mistaken but dont i need to be able to use the tab and install something from the market place to be able to install CWM thats what im getting from what i read?
I can't even get my bootloader. Holy f**k am I pissed. Does anyone have any ideas??
Ok. So I installed the Samsung Kies software. It recognizes the device and shows that the update is available. However, it says that the battery should be fully charged. So now I am waiting for the full charge to proceed.
Hope the Kies helps.
I'll try that too. ahh

No.
Go to the thread I linked, download the files, watch the youtube video.
1. Install the GT-p7510_USB_Driver if you haven't already
2. Start Odin - untick the auto reboot option
3. Click PDA and choose recovery-cwm_4.0.0.4-sam-tab-10.1.tar.md5
4. Power up your tab and get it into download mode (power down + vol down, then vol up)
5. connect the tab to your PC, one of the boxes in odin should highlight yellow and say com 4 or whatever.
6. press start and it'll flash CWM to your tab
7. wait till it's done, it should only take a few seconds and the boxes will turn green.
8. power down your tab and unplug it from your pc
9. boot into CWM, (power down + vol down, vol down to select CWM, vol up to enter.
10. flash hc-3.1_ota-full_sam_tab_10.1.zip
11. do a factory wipe in CWM and wipe davlik just to be safe
12. reboot, and hopefully you'll be back to stock 3.1
From here you can do whatever you want.
Connect it to a PC and there's a firmware recovery on KIES. Hope that works!

I'm going to try it once my kies is finished updating. I really hope this works.
haha well first and formost i want to thank everyone for thier input. I did alot of searching online i tried KIES samsung tech support was useless. So i found the instructions on how to put clockwork on a locked bootloader got it on there and flashes the stock rom and it worked my tab is now back! only problem now is i tried to update again and only go the minor update and it doesnt find the big one lol but cant complain ill just wait lol thanks again. and to others who had the same problem dont deal with KIES to recover its useless unless you were using the program to update. I suggest getting CWM and flashing stock since thats what worked for me?

Since you now have CWM, just download the flashable zip from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1198921
Make sure you do a factory reset in CWM after you flash this, otherwise you'll bootloop.

Thank you DocRambone, flashing that via Odin got me up and running.
Then I flashed CWM as per earlier post and then flashed the Stock UEKMB + root ROM and I guess I am good to go.
Ok guys. This is my report. I used the Kies to update. The firmware was updated successfully and now the tablet works perfectly!
So this is easier and less painful method than using CWM described above =)) (but thanks to hoodoomagic for the description anyway)
Hope this will help somebody.

Streak Boot Issues Cant Restore Stock Recovery or Boot ROM (Bootloop)

Hiya all, I am quite desperate for help, I consider myself intermediate when it comes to dealing with android devices but I am well and truly stumped on this one.
I received a second hand streak from eBay yesterday, turned on first time and booted fine, running Steakdroid 1.9.0 by DJ Steve. I had a few issues with it reboot randomly or crashing, as it had Streakmod Recovery installed I did a full wipe all areas, reinstalled the Rom 1.9.0 and bit a factory reset on reboot from the Dell recovery menu.
All the device does now is reboot in bootloop on the dell logo it stall when it goes as far as booting or trying to load the Rom.
I ran the test in fastboot to test the internal drive as this is known to fail and both that and my SD memory passed the test.
I used fastboot and CMD to flash 4399 recovery image the OEM recovery image for the Rom Streak_104_4399_21.pkg I renamed this to update.pkg and rebooted the device into recovery where I then went to restore the original firmware (1.6) but as soon as I pressed the camera button to proceed I was greeted with a lovely black screen.
I left the device for about 2 minutes where it reset itself and just keep rebooting on the dell logo the restore did not seem to work, just to check fastboot and CMD was working as it should I went to reinstall the Streakmod Recovery image and sure enough it worked I managed to boot the device back into streakmod.
Unfortunately every time I try to install a custom rom they just do not seem to load the device simply stalls on the Dell logo because I cant seem to restore the original recovery image for the stock rom I cannot factory restore and nor will any custom rom boot.
All I have is access to fastboot and Streakmod recovery aaaah!!
If anyone can help me in the slightest I would well very, very, very much appreciate it!
As you have fastboot working, go to the wiki and download the recovery.img for the latest 360 rom, put the corresponding rom on your sd card named update.pkg and try to do a recovery by powering on device holding down volume up and down.
Flash then do a factory reset and you should be fine.
Streakmod is a great tool for flashing custom roms, not too many problems using custom roms, but you must use Streakmod with care, never use the factory reset option from within streakmod itself, this can render your phone a brick.

Thanks for the reply here's my progress so far:
Flashed recovery image and loaded rom to SD card..... Booted into dell recovery and this is what happened
Finding update package
Opening update package
Verifying update package
Yellow bar 25%ish at this point
flashing lights
Installing Update
33%ish lights flash again
Yellow bar jumps 3/4 then fills screen, streaks screen goes blank/ off
Doesn't reboot/ cant turn on so I remove battery and switch back on and I am back to Dell logo then I get a picture of an android and another small progress bar that slowly fills and the device and it again reboots
Streak reboots again about 3 times like it is stuck in bootloop, I leave it and keep my fingers crossed I then get an animation of the Dell logo and glowing lights behind it.
Keep fingers crossed and sure enough it boots into the lock screen, I go to unlock it but it freezes and I get the flashing lights syndrome and the screen goes blank
Remove battery and switch on again, dell logo bootloop after about 8 or 9 bootloops it boots back up into the ROM above but then crashes once again...
Is it fair to say this streak has given up the ghost?
Flashing lights could mean baseband mismatch.
Try again, but be certain to use the correct recovery.img for the rom you are flashing, get the 351, 354 or 360 recovery.img that matches your choice of rom.
Make sure there is only 1 update.pkg on your microsd card, the one you want to flash, move all others, rename them or delete them. The Dell recovery always looks for update.pkg, nothing else.
Flashing lights could be something more major, but i still think its a baseband mismatch.

Honestly thats what I wanted to hear but what worries me is I downloaded the recovery and image from Wiki both relating to 360 will try flashing again I really do hope it can be fixed! Seems today is not a good day for me today many things going up the creek!
I am 75% certain if you flash it with the right update.pkg, that is a renamed 360 pkg you downloaded, you will have success.
When you flashed Streak_104_4399_21.pkg you were trying to revert to Android 1.6.
You may have to use the QDLTool to fix the Streak. I am not sure what problems trying an 1.6 build over an Android 2.2 build can cause. You may want to wait for some more feedback.
Start here for more info and try the links in my signature.
I dont believe you can downgrade directly from 2.2.x -> 1.6.
2.2.x -> 2.1 -> 1.6 might work but why are you doing this in the first place?
Just directly install 360 or the like
teaganravetta,
Does this sum up your situation?
1) you bought a used phone and it had StreakDroid 1.9.0 on it
2) because of issues with SD 1.9.0, you tried to flash Streak_104_4399_21.pkg, not realizing that SD is based on a newer stock rom
3) you then tried flashing bb 360
3) Now you are having issues with boot loops and phone won't boot?

Yes thats exactly what happened and in that exact order I am guessing this means the worse, am going to try for the 3rd time now reflashing 360 so fingers crossed

I'm not going to tell you anything different than anyone else, however I am going to give you links to the exact files you need so there is no confusion.
Download this:
http://mirror2.streakdroid.com/manii/360/recovery.img
This is the recovery image for 360. Save it in the folder on your computer that has fastboot.
Now download this:
http://mirror2.streakdroid.com/manii/Streak_360_17397_00.pkg
Rename this to Update.pkg and place in the root of your SD Card. (ensure there is no other Update.pkg on your card)
Power off the phone, if not done already.
Hold the power and camera button down until you get a white screen. Click on fastboot on your phone. Wait 10 seconds.
Plug it into your computer with the usb cable.
Wait for it to say fastboot ready (or something similar).
Now flash the recovery.img using the following command (This command assumes a Windows PC):
fastboot.exe -i 0x413 flash recovery recovery.img
When both your computer and the phone says it was successful, complete, or whatever, pull the battery.
Replace the battery, hold both volume buttons along with the power button.
In the menu that opens, choose the second option. Let us know your results.
I only added this post in case their was confusion over which files were actually needed. No need for a separate baseband, dsp1, or anything else. These are all included in the pkg file.
many thanks for all the help, so far I have downloaded "QDLTool3rd_20101022_GAUSB1A130500" turned off driver signing as I am x64 all ADB drivers fine and COM ports okay have restored via this tool according to the log successfully.
Phone rebooted a few times it has paused on the Dell logo for a moment but the guide did say anything up to 10minutes for first boot so I am holding for the moment to see if this has cured it otherwise I will report back and re download the above files and try that!
It takes me a while because I am out in the sticks I only have a 60kbps download speed (yikes) I know!!
Because your first attempt at flashing a stock ROM was the Android 1.6 version I am not sure you can just flash 360 at this point. I think you have to use the QDLTool (repairtool), but I am not sure. Try searching for the procedures that were used to upgrade from 1.6.
Edit to use the QDLTool:
In this post DL under commonly downloaded tools get Fastboot/ADB utils + drivers for Streak 5/7 and Venue and QDL Tool.
Then download qdltool-tutorial.zip from this page. unzip the tutorial and open it with a browser that supports flash or other flash viewer.
After using the QDLTool let the Streak boot and then flash the 360 recovery file and the 360 ROM. You must not let the phone boot completely after flashing a different recovery or the phone will restore the one that came with the ROM currently on the phone. Read this.
You can find more info about QDLTool by searching. As I said I think that is what you need to do.

[SOLVED] A help, please: Android exclamation error - no boot!

Well. that's the sh#%*t I made:
I tried to revert to stock then I used this package: Acer_A500_7.006.01_COM_GEN2.zip flashing it with vol. - + power button.
The problem is that the screen went on as it was install this update normally with the message "booting recovery kernel image", but, after spinning Android gears, the device is stuck at the green Android robot with the yellow exclamation.
If I try to boot with power button instead, then it's stuck on the boot screen Android logo (the shiny blue one).
I tried to reset and to flash another update.zip, unsuccessful. With the last ROM I had, civato Flexthunder, I had CWM, but now, neither it's menu is showed if I press only vol. - + power button - what I have is "booting recovery kernel image", then the Android exclamation on the screen. Notice that, when I was using that ROM, I had CWM. But I used Acer Recovery Installer to flash the US recovery from it's menu. After that, I installed CWM again with this Acer Recovery Installer...
In the end, I tried what I read here, but I can't solve on my own...
It's so confusing! How can I have my A500 back, please, someone!!!
Need to know how you got back to stock recovery? Did you use Acer Recovery Installer?
If so you should just be able to put a stock 3.01 image on your SD card labeled "update.zip" and recover from there?

Yes, K, I used that Acer Recovery Installer when I was still with civato's ROM.
So, from Acer Recovery menu, I flashed that "US stock recovery" version available there. Following that, I installed CWM from Acer Recovery menu again. So, I put that update cited above and... stuck on that!
mmm... but that update is 3.2 - I didn't try with a 3.01... let me see that...
UPDATE: the links from Vache post for 3.01 full packages are a kind of xml... It's not possible to get the zip files! Is there another available link, please?
I'm not even going to ask why you used Acer Recovery Installer once you had installed a rooted ROM, because I'm afraid of the answer .
I think I might still have a 3.01 at home, but won't be there until Wednesday.

Well. that's the sh#%*t I made:
I tried to revert to stock then I used this package: Acer_A500_7.006.01_COM_GEN2.zip flashing it with vol. - + power button.
The problem is that the screen went on as it was install this update normally with the message "booting recovery kernel image", but, after spinning Android gears, the device is stuck at the green Android robot with the yellow exclamation.
If I try to boot with power button instead, then it's stuck on the boot screen Android logo (the shiny blue one).
I tried to reset and to flash another update.zip, unsuccessful. Had the same issue, then I realized that the update.zip has to be on the EXTERNAL sd card...not internal storage.
Hope this helps.

I got the point...
So, I've found a 3.01 here. I'm going to try it now...
Nothing
So, I put the 3.01 from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15379983&postcount=1
as update.zip in the SD card. Did it with vol - and power button. Again, the Android robot with yellow exclamation.
It's strange... everyone here did it and apparently it worked perfectly, why not in my case?
UPDATE: I changed the update for 2GB SD card. The progress bar went on briefly and so stopped in some point and, again, the Android robot with yellow exclamation.

Why dont you try the 3.1 Acer_A500_4.010.10_COM_GEN2 from Vache thread

then run iconiaroot 1.3

I tried what I found here:

and, after the progress bar go until almost the end, it stopped, so do the gears animation, and after reboot, now I have my device stuck on Acer logo screen and the message, in red letters: boot verified failed ...
Ok..
now then you have to ask..
What browser am i using to download this file.. How am i pushing it to the device.. Does the stock recovery like my sd card..
try downloading to using a diffrent browser / diffrent computer.. try pushing it to a diffrent sd card..
there is something in the above post that is consistant.. im guessing its one of the above i mention above that is your issue..
good luck..

You can be right, but since it's not made here, I suppose any update.zip can be used... or not... but in fact I'm not able to know what's the specific file for Brazilian devices... or can I?
man, it's 1+ month tablet! How could I do that? crying out loud...
Take erica_renee advice......download the zip on your PC. make sure you extract the update.zip. from the file you downloaded. Open update.zip file and make sure it doesnt give an error. Im assuming you can use the same update as north america. I dont follow that too close.
If you have a micro card reader ...pop out the micro sd card and plug it into your PC and copy/past the update.zip to it....then put it back into the tablet and reboot into recovery....
that will at least remove some fault factors.
Edit--instead of extracting the update.zip file from the download you may just have to rename it to update
You got your UID Serial number from the USB? It will be 16 digits long.
If so, use a paperclip and power button to put it into fastboot and then flash it.

OOPS YOU ARE Correct . to flash with stock recovery.. only need to extract it to flash with cwm.. But i think its a bad download bad copy or bad sd card issue..
might want to get the md5 sums and check them before on the computer then again on the tablet... after you put the sd card back in the device.. I had this issue with a older 8 gb sd card back when acer first released the tablet..
Again stop trying the exact same thing. change one at a time and you will find your issue.. . AGAIN GOOD LUCK...

[Q] Need Help with ICS 4.0.3 FLEXREAPER-R11

Hey there,
I installed this ROM onto my Iconia Tab 2 days ago, and it has been working fine. However, this morning, when I turned my Iconia Tab on, it went to the messed up boot screen as normal, but this time it was stuck on it. (Before It would go to this screen and then go to the boot animation after about 5 seconds)
I have left the tablet plugged in and on this screen for 1 hour, but it still hasen't loaded. I have tried using the reset pinhole, but that hasen't helped.
When I first flashed this ROM, I first installed Acer Recovery Installer, which I used to install CWM. Then I installed the "Rom Manager" app for ClockWork Mod (I got both from Google Play). After that, I installed the ROM zip file with the Rom Manager app, and as I said before it has been working perfectly, but today it is broken.
My main problem is that my volume rocker is broken, and so I cannot access CWM recovery. I do not have any important data on my tablet, and so all I need is a way to enter recovery mode without the use of the volume buttons (USB keyboard, possibly? Or can I do it from my PC?).
I've asked acer about this, and they want $300 to fix the volume rocker.

You should be able to connect via ADB and run the boot to recovery from there. Not sure of the exact command, but you can Google it.

With the app Acer recovery installer you can boot into recovery. Open the app and there is the option.
And don't use rom manager to install a rom.
Rom manager doesn't support a500 , install rom from cwm. When you install follow installation instructions , does it says to use rommanager ? It says flash from cwm or ra recovery and wipe all , problems well do real format , so you get rid of corrupt data.
Stuck in a boot loop, maybe you installed a mod that is not for flexreaper.
And update your recovery to the latest, Google tegra owners or use Ra recovery that you find here on xda.

If you updated to the latest cwm 1.7.1 touch recovery you didn't need hardware buttons to navigate.
Did you try downloading the latest cwm , rename that zip file to update.zip and put it on your external SD , normally it should run automaticly , I think.
But then again you need the volume switch to enter recovery.
Is there no way you can press the volume ?
You tried reinstalling Acer drivers ?

Thanks, but yes I have reinstalled the drivers.
After searching google, I have found out that Acer's ADB drivers are not compatible with 64bit windows, and I do not have access to a 32bit machine.
Right now in device manager it shows up as a "MTP USB Device", but there is a yellow exclamation mark next to it, and the error is "This Device Could Not Start. (Code 10)"
According to more google searching, my boot problem can be fixed simply by clearing the Dalvik cache, but the only way to do that is to use recovery (which I cannot access) or a command in ADB (which I ALSO cannot access)

Yeah, with the correct drivers it should show as ADB Device. Here is a link for commands;

You'll need to type:

If I remember correctly, I started adb through the sdk, then plugged in my tab (on). I think at that time, I was asked to install the drivers, so I let the install new hardware find them. I think they're just the generic google adb drivers.
Either that, or I instructed a specific location to install them from. I also remember getting a warning that the driver may not be compatible, however, most instructions tell you to ignore this and select it anyhow.
I have several different devices,so it's hard to remember.
OK, I made a video of my problem, and me trying to install ADB drivers:

Also here is a photo of the screen that it's stuck on:

Also I discovered a bug with the XDA forums. When you add a YouTube Link with the YOUTUBE tags, you must enter advanced editing mode and DISABLE the checkbox for "Automatically parse links in text", or else it will display raw HTML instead of the embedded video.

Hey,
I tried removing the physical rocker and using a pen to press the physical buttons underneath, but those presses are still not registered.
try to remove drivers using Device Manager and reconnect device or connect your device to another usb port. Acer's driver setup utility doesn't really install driver but only copies file. You need to force Windows 7 to lookup drivers for new device.

I have managed to install the ACER_A500_1.016.05_COM_GEN1 ROM via the secret APX method, however I am unable to install CWM or CWM Touch, as I cannot root the device, because GingerBreak requires an external MicroSD card, which, for some reason, is not recognized by the ROM. The ROM also only detects 128MB of internal storage, when my tablet has 32GB. Furthermore, the Camera dosen't work, it just displays a black screen, and when I press the shutter button, the camera LED goes on, and it attempts to focus, but cannot.
How would I go about flashing on CWM so I can flash on another ROM?
Thanks for all your help.
EDIT: I tried formatting it with CWM on my phone, and then putting it back into my tablet, but it still won't work.
(works fine on my phone)
Is it formated fat 32?

If this is a 3.1 rom, you only need to get iconiaroot.apk. You should be able to copy it to your internal SD, then install it from a file manager.
Get iconia root 1.3 here;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1138228
Once that is done, you should be able to get AcerRecovery from the market and Install RA or CWM recovery.
And once you get recovery going, I would do some serious formatting on your internal memory.

bricked

first let me tell you how i bricked my tablet... i was on cynogenmod 10 but i wanted to go back to 9 but for some reason because of all the freezing when i was wiping i accidently loaded the official asus rom update US epad etc etc so when i rebooted it gave me that bar and its stuck there i tried to reboot it to recovery but it wont give me the option to go into recovery like it did.
its said something like checking for android ota recovery...so i cant go into adb because usb debugging is not enabled in my tablet because i wiped right so I can go into apx mode because i can see it show up in my devices but it wont do anything with the easy flasher program, it acts like its goinng thru thr proccess but nothing happens on the tablet.....so then i went to try to update the drivers but everytime that i point the apx driver into the file it said that the driver is up to date..... so that where im at now please help me......
I donwloaded NVFLASH but i get that black screen it takes the tablet out of apx mode and the black screen desappears. and i think the same is happenning with easy flasher something is happening at the end that it does not finish the process
You get the OTA message because you removed CWM and moved back to Asus recovery.
You can try to reinstall an Asus stock ROM using the stock recovery. Get an Asus stock ROM (e.g. the one you already flashed), put it on a SD, power off the device and reboot into recovery.
Stock recovery just checkes the SD and if it finds an Asus ROM there it will install it.
I don't remember if the file had to be named something special or not, sorry :silly:

Yes rename to EP101_SDUPDATE.zip
Remember to extract the zip from within the zip first, rename the extracted zip.
Thanks!
I have done it lots of time but never quite remember if I should use the zip I download or the one inside it, and which name should this file have... I always end searching the same info over and over :silly:
so even if im stuck on that screen , when i put the update in the sd card it will recognize it immidietly without doing anything special? ill try that, i have tried to install the naked driver on all my computers and it wont let me , im getting a message that said that there is no software for my device in the folder.......... i really appreciate the help guys ill try that tonight see how it goes...do i have to format the sd or something or just place the file in root any other options witll be appreciated, what i dont understand is why there is not like a stock recovery or something
i dont think its gonna work because i dont get the screen that allows you to put into recovery i just get a message that states checking for android ota recovery
Well. Ler me tell you how I did it. It's been sometime since I used stock recovery, but I think it's allright.
1. Download the desired stock ROM from Asus.
2. Unzip the file. You will find another .zip file.
3. Rename this new .zip file as baseballfanz said.
4. Put the renamed .zip in the root directory of a uSD card.
5. Power off the TF.
6. Put the card into the TF.
7. Press Vol. Dn. + Power and keep them pressed until power is on and you see a message in the screen.
(Don't do this... If you press Vol Dn again you will get two options: wipe or coldboot)
8. As soon as you get the message in small caps press Volume Up.
Now the TF will look for an update in the uSD and install it. You won't have to do any further action. If it doesn't work the TF will tell you (I think it was and android with a red X, or with the innards showing or something like that  )
If this doesn't work then maybe you don't have stock recovery installed ok, or there is some problem with the zip file.
