So, I rooted my nook color and I'm all honkey dory (two words?)
My question though, is if I check the screen shot of an app, I can't get back to the previous page. The screenshot takes up the whole screen and touching the bottom left (or anywhere else it seems) doesn't bring up any sort of menu. I'm sure there is something stupid that my stupid brain is missing but, as stated, it's stupid. Please help.
TIA.
I think you probably have (or set somehow) the Status Bar disable.
Try poking around the Settings (I can't remember on top of my head where that be)

Hello all!
Sorry if this was asked earlier; didn't find anything like it in the search.
Basically, I really like PocketNAV's functionality; I'd just like it to be invisible unless I call it (via mapped button). Is there any way to get it to display nothing in the upper-right? If I uncheck everything it still has a grey bar in the upper-right (with the time) that blocks my icons. Any way to remove this, or other program just like PocketNAV that doesn't have that problem? Thanks!
Thank you,
Michael
I use SpbPocketPlus and it doesn't put anything in the upper right corner, though that's where you go to use it. For awhile I thought it was broken and then I figured out you have to actually press and hold in order to get it to display the drop down menu. Might be just what you're looking for.
Hi,
Anyone know if there's a registry hack to remove the Home and Settings options from the home screen tabs at the bottom of the home screen? I actually use Settings a bit, but the Home option makes no sense to me. Not only is there a hardware button that takes you to the home screen, but as far as I can tell, the home screen tabs only appear on the home screen anyway, kinda making the option pointless! I'd prefer to put the settings option on one of my quicklinks instead to free up some space on the home screen tabs (I like a nice tidy maximum of 5 down there to prevent the need to scroll) and assume that if a registry hack exists, both options would sit in the same area.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Don't do it
There was a thread about it, but you would have to search for it. I don't remember anymore wharmt exactly the titel was.
I came from the same side and tried to remove the HomeTab.
1st point: it worked.
Sideeffect: not only the button in the slider vanished, but also the complete Homescreen.
So, it's better you leave the fingers off this topic.
If you want to find the thread, just search for all my posts (there aren't so many). This might be the easiest way to find it.

Only if your a pro , dont touch registries. Enjoy your phone and hope all is well.
OK, the fixed buttons to the right of the screen. 2 things. is there a way to put them on the title bar like on other android tabs? I figure it must just be something I'm missing but I'm not sure. there must be some way. without them being backlit if it's dark I can't seem them obviously. TIA.
Look for Button Savior in the android market, it can be placed anywhere on any edge of the screen
Hey, thanks. not bad but not exactly what I was looking for. I have an older generic crap-tab running 2.2, it has only one hard button and all the buttons are on the status bar at the top let of the screen. I really like that and was hoping to be able to do it here. maybe it's not possible but I can't see why. it's a good place for a few buttons, they are out of the way and such. I am wondering also if there is a way to disable the hard buttons on the A7 because somtimes I accidently activate them "sliding" a bit off the screen.
What you are describing is just a status bar modification. It is unique to that particular device, because it involves heavy modification of the Google framework library.

Is there a mod that uses your lockscreen background when signing in instead a plain color?
I assure you there are programs out there.
Some of them even occasionally log in (though I'm not sure that four exclamation marks worth of shouting at them to do so helps anything).
Please use meaningful subject lines on your posts.
Also, to the best of my knowledge, no. The idea is supposed to be that you slide the lock screen away, which generally means the thing under the lockscreen should look different.
Hi,
recently when I took my phone away from my ear to bring up the keypad during a call I was surprised to see some white menu overlay. I pressed the back button to get rid of it in order to be able to press the keypad button because I was in a hurry which is why i can't really remember what its options were. There were two or three and I think one them said something like 'Record call' but I could be wrong there. I have absolutely no idea where it came from and what might have triggered it. Has anyone seen this, too? Could it be some kind of bug and/or some function I accidentally discovered that's not really supposed to be accessible (by geographic or other reasons)?
It looked similar to this sketch from memory:
