Hello all. I recently purchased a 3 USIM with the hope of being able to surf the Internet too. The 3 offers surfing the internet if your phone is UMTS (Omnia 7 and it is) and only covert "3 ITA", but the problem is that the Omnia 7 does not detect the network 3 in ITA no city.
ALWAYS fastens on the network "I TIM" only allowing me to call and send messages, even if the search manual network 3 but I find it does not connect the same. : roll:
If I browse undercover Tim (roaming then) I browse but not provided for free as my subscription.
I tried to connect to the internet with another mobile phone, and everything went perfectly. : evil:
I checked a bit 'on the internet and told me that was enough to set the apn (tre.it - DONE) or use the app (NIC) - DONE, but should not be in any of the cases.
Have you any solution? Maybe setting up some parameters with Diagnosis codes (# # 634 #), I tried the solution * # 2263 # managing the preference for the band but acts: (
thanks guys!
had a mate with same problem with a galaxy note and solved adjusting network settings
try to go impostazioni --> rete cellulare --> opzioni dati in roaming e metti "non collegare in roaming" e in selezione rete scegli 3 ITA
it should probably work

I downloaded the T-Mobile (NL) application for PPC2002 ("T-Mobile GPRS Connect") which should take care of the GPRS connections, but it does not work. It keeps complaining about not able to open the modem connection (I'm using the Cellular Line modem): "Can not find the name of the serial port".
Anybody any ideas?
It is a nice utility which displays the speed, send/received bytes and connection time, but useless sofar...

hey marco,
i bought a t-mobile pocket pc in the US and unlocked it. With my vodafone sim i now can do everythinh with the device. So I know how to make a GPRS connection to Vodafone, but don't know the settings for t-mobile.
A few days ago I also tried to install t-mobile app. but it sucks. I suggest you try to find out the correct settings with t-mobile nl to make a descent GPRS setting and not use the t-mobile application

Have (old ATT) SX56. 3.17.03ENG; Radio A.33.02; protocol 1.3.3
have wm2003 (thanks Stefan) and phone SMS work great. Cannot seem to get internet access after signing up for T-Mobile service. Get various msgs from 'no answer from this number' to 'trying to connect' and then disconnect. Spent 3 hours with L3 tech @ tmo to no avail. Cannot seem to find spot in set-up in connections to add a phone number to dial GPRS either. Worked fine under the old ATT (locked) service.
Anyone have similar issues in the US?
GPRS dont use a nr just an accesspoint
do a search for "Tmobile AND gprs" in the networking it forum
and you're sure to find the settings you need to put in
I have Orange Unique ( UMA ) bundles on my account where I get 1000 mins of calls to Orange UK, UK 01/02/03 prefixes & 30 International Landlines, on top of that I have my 200 mins/300 texts/unlimited UK 01/02/03 landlines
Now on my Blackberry Pearl 8120 I could switch off the mobile network & keep wifi on & all calls no matter where I was in the world came out my allowances with no roaming charges....it saved me a fortune in high bills I upgraded to T3G for what I expected to be the same setup on my T3G, but nope no wifi except Unique ( I only use wifi for Unique anyhow ) & no ability to switch the mobile network off !
So is there an application I can download that will cut the mobile network signal on/off, allowing like BB 8120 calls exclusively ( & FREE! ) to route over wifi ?
Google for "nodata"
Thanks Inter that's half my roaming problem solved ! Just need mobile network switch now !
just got hold of a new nexus S in bangalore and have had no success getting any mobile data connector running.
I welcome all suggestions on how to go about debugging this issue.
Since this is a T-mobile spec'd device ( unlocked), I do expect that 3G may not work , but what puzzles me is that even gprs/edge connections dont come up.
I've tried sims from airtel and bsnl-3g.
Have been trying various network/apn/signal test utilites , but none have provided any useful info.
I used * # * # 4 6 3 6 # * # * to get the android test menu and here is the relevant info
- the ping test fail
- GPRS shows disconnected state
- GSM Disconnects: ===DATA===
State: DcInactiveState
disconnected with last try at 5.29am fail because of No Error
==========
How can I figure out if the APN setting are correct ? What utilites can i use to test the mobile network connection ?

i didnt know you need APN to get a signal . if thats the issue you are having. no signal.
if you are talking about internet or 3G. then i guess you need to get them from your phone company.
also. did you try different sim/new sim ? yours might be old. some of the new phone wont work on old sim card . i had this issue before
EDIT :- also are you sure its unlocked. Tmobile might have made mistake and shipped you a locked phone . " is there even a locked Nexus S ? "
EDIT :- download a program from the market if you can get wifi running. its called " secret phone setting" there might be something in the menu to help you out

Is your device not recognizing the SIM or the data connection from your carrier troubling you??? If you got the unlocked device then every SIM should work properly...
I know the phone is unlocked since i can make voice call with both sims.
The sims are ok since they get a data connection in my nokia e71 as well as my friends Galaxy S.
Its just the packet data/mobile data connection that refuses to work. I am sure that the APN settings are fine since I use the same on the Galaxy S.
Wifi works great too. Its almost as if the phone does not even try to use anything oher Wifi for data. Is there a way I can get a log/dump of the GPRS/EDGE connection attempts to figure out where things are failing ?
I had the same problem, i called tmobile and they told me that my sim card was to old (it was) so they killed the old one and put my info in the new one (it came one sim card in my NS) and problem solved!!!!
Finally working with BSNL 3g in Bangalore.
The APN setting is quite simple. create a new APN, set
name=bsnlnet
APN=bsnlnet
type=internet
I have been trying these setting for a few days now , so I have no clue why they did not work previously.
Performance is OK , get the 3G icon about 70% of the temp , EDGE for the rest.
Will try out other 3G providers this week . Plan to go to the Docomo store and have them test their 3G sim on my phone.
Based on everything i have read so far, this should not work on DOCOMO since everyone except BSNL seem to have frequencies in the 2100 ( down) + 1900 (uplink) range and this phone supports 1700 and 2100.
Hello,
I'm using CM 10.1 (nightly from 20121218) and have a message in the notification: You are connected to a foreign network, click to choose an operator. If I go to the network operators menu, I can choose my operator (Bouygues Telecom) or set to automatic, it does not change anything (and it connects on Bouygues Telecom).
All roaming options are unticked and the state menu displays "no roaming". Everything is working fine, my APN are correct, I can phone and use internet without off-plan but I have this notification message staying there.
My radio is M9615A-CEFWMAZM-2.0.1700.33, my operator is B&You a subnetwork of Bouygues Telecom in France.
