Hey all, I recently bought a hd2 that was locked to T-Mobile UK, and so I paid to have it unlocked at a shop nearby, I wanted to use my 3 sim card on it as I still had a contract going on it, and everything works okay except when I try and connect to 3g I only get T-Mobile internet which I think is costing me money any ideas on how to connect to 3's 3g network? The phone does say I'm connected to 3 when 3g is switched off also I'm currently running winmo 6.5 but planning on dualbooting android and wp7 asap, if that's of any significance
Try to run Connection Wizard/Set Up! That should change your APN ;-) I know that Android and WP7 on HD2 change those settings easier... And WP7 rocks ;-)

Hi,
I have a really old phone (well maybe not REALLY old - 2years?) It is the Cingular 8525 and was my phone under contract with Cingular prior to getting a phone upgrade. It has been sitting around collecting dust for 2 years? And I think I finally have a use for it!
I am travelling to Greece, and I would like to pick up a prepaid 3G sim card upon arrival. I just want to make sure I unlock my current phone before I depart so that the phone works when I get the sim card in Greece!
ALSO --- My goal is to turn the phone into a WiFi router so that I can hookup my Laptop to it for checking emails etc... While I am travelling about. Are there any cooked roms that unlock and provide such WiFi functionality I am looking for?
Thanks!
I got my HTC unlocked
I have a unlocked HTC 8525 it is locked to AT&T and I use tmobile and others in it. What I have is a little chip that fits under the sim card.
I have also used it in a Nokia N95 8GB from the UK with
and USA At&t, Tmobile and others.

It comes from china and took 3 weeks to the USA.
Hey, I need a little help.
I am currently on pre-paid with my HD2 with Android on it, and i wanted to get some prepaid data for a month while i go interstate (300mb). But the problem is, i dont know if i will be able to get it with different Roms and Radios that i have installed. Will I be able to use data? (Im in Australia and on Virgin if that helps.)
Also.... I was looking aroud the forums for a fix for MMS after i found out i couldnt send any, how do change APN and all the guides to fix APN have settings to do with T-Mobile, will it still work for me???
One more thing..... Once i get data on my HD2 can i connect it to my laptop when travelling and use the phones internet on the laptop (with bluetooth or the usb cord?)?
Thanks Alot!!!!
i want to send my sister this phone and i want to make sure it works in mexico.
also i want to make it only android, it has windows mobile but i can make it android but i always have to keep the phone on. XP
hi, im from México and i have a T-mobile htc hd2 fully operable on Telcel but you need to do a carrier unlock there are some sites where you can buy the code, just to get the phone working on México Carriers (telcel, movistar and unefon) the only thing that will not work is 3g cuz in méxico the baseband is different so you cant use it anyways you can use EDGE plan (you need to configure this)... thats for the usa version of htc hd 2 T8585 anyways no doubts it will work just fine i recommend you to use windows mobile 6.5 cuz if u sister shut down or take the battery off to put the chip it will reset and back to winmo 6.5 unless she know how to boot android hehe, pm me if you need help (english and spanish) k cya ^^
It does work if the phone is unlocked. Just make sure the carrier is GSM. Will work with Telcel but only in 2G bands, won't work in 3G.
You can't make it Android only because at this time there's no way to flash the NAND to Android. Everytime that she turns off the phone It's going to start in WM
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
ok then, yea well i guess ill see what happens then, and that kinda suck that u cant keep andriod. XP i own an evo but my dad either wants to send an iphone to her or a htchd2 XD thanks for the help.
Hey I have the same doubt... I want to buy an hd2 but idk if it will fully work here in mexico! and so mexico doesn't have 3g wow we suck!!
In mexico works HD2 tmobile just unlock it before or buy it unlocked, don't work the 3g, if you want 3G work buy the Telstra version that support the 850 frequency, but is more expensive.
htc hd2 works
hello i have one HTC HD2 LEO working with telcel...
also i have just run android froyo but after rebooting comes back to WM there is a cople of apps that can make android to run after booting i will post links here...
but i want to warn u because after i rebooted HD2 i cannot install anymore apps because of a certificate problem i am getting an error that cannot instal .cab because is not a trusted certificate and also cannot run android
soft reset doesnt help...there is a couple links that says to resolve that but instead to resolve it now i cant sync outlook
i want to make a hard reset but i am afraid that i am going to loose unlocked feature and doesnt accept anymore SIM from telcel!!!
any help?
mann wow im kinda sadd about that... i have an htc hd2 from tmobile and whats makes me kinda sad is that we cant use 3g here... i mean we have 3g here now but i mean only EDGE for the tmobile version that really suxx guys

Telcel Internet
APN: internet.itelcel.com
Username: webgprs
Password: webgrps2002
the t9193 will get 3G with those settings, the t8525 EDGE only.
Certainly yes!
I was in Cabo first week of March and my phone roamed to Movistar in San Jose Del Cabo and Telcel in Cabo San Lucas without a problem.
Or, you could just buy a sim for either prior to going and set yourself up once there.

Is it possible to use a HD2[7] with At&t? If so what are the steps to take to sim unlock the phone? Im new to all of this... Any help would be appreciated.
I did it. I just bought an unlock code for around $20 and ten minutes later I got the code via email and unlocked it in Windows Mobile 6.5 before moving to Windows Phone 7. The phone tile says AT&T and I had to fill in the APN and that's it.
Ok. I still have a T-Mobile account and got them to send in a request for an unlock code so hopefully Ill have it in an email tomorrow. Ill revert back to 6.5 and give it a try, thanks.
Only bad thing when doing this.....Don't expect to get 3G access with HD2 on at&t. Well not if you have the TMobile branded one.
Another question, will it unlock if I try to unlock straight from the windows 7 rom because im not too confident about flashing back to windows 6.5 yet?
The T9193 came unlocked. And that's the only HD2 that really works properly on AT&T anyway, since the TMOUS one can't do 3G on AT&T...
So I'm on the T-Mobile Pay As You Go plan as a Gold reward member. A few months ago I switched to the Samsung Exhibit II 4G because I was getting sick of my HTC Touch Pro2. My TP2 was a Sprint branded one that was unlocked and flashed with an unlocked radio that would let me use it on T-Mobile (the device is dual-mode CDMA/GSM). The weird thing is that I could access certain sites on that device, like the mobile version of Yahoo, that I can't access on my Exhibit II. Is it because T-Mobile recognizes my current device and is restricting access to it? It might be but I was also able to access the mobile version of Yahoo when I was toying around with an HTC HD2 (when it was running Android through MAGLDR). My plan shouldn't have any data at all but I can still access that site if I switch back to my TP2. Any one know what's going on?
Does it just flat out not load, or does it say you don't have a data connection?
It redirects me to a page saying I don't have data.

Hi, I think you have answered your own question. And that you found some kind of loophole. Obviously if you want data you should upgrade to a plan with data.
