I got a htc headset and music controls do not work, there's any workaround for it on CM7.2??
About your problem
Hi, i guess you've installed a custom rom on your htc. So mostly everyone custom rom have bugs. In my opinion problem solving is:
1. Search in google. Enter your make, model, custom rom name, and one word headphones.
2. Try to search another similar custom rom.
If nothing helps, installing another custom rom at least you will see where is the problem, in rom or in phone?
Was i helpful? I don't know, i've tried

Mmm I believe the hardware may be incompatible! Why don't you try installing poweramp and check if it is responding to the hardware controls... If it does you should searh for a CM workaround else the headset may juust be incompatible!
I'm having trouble with the HTC headset as well, but I'm on an X2 with Eclipse 2.1. For some reason it will ask me which app it wants to send the headset button press to instead of allowing PowerAmp to take it.

Hi all I'm new to this forum, I have the following HTC products Tytn PC-phone and the S100 bluetooth headset, the phone suffers from the audio fading in and out. The shop assistent gave me this sites web address he said to resolve the problem I should download the latest ROM patch the phone is less than 2 weeks old, would upgrading the ROM solve this problem?
Current ROM version is 1.18.255.3
Thanks for your help
It should fade in when audio starts and fade out after a while of no audio, there is a reg key that disables that. If it is doing this constantly, yup you have a problem.
Back up your information and try a hard reset first (hold the 2 soft keys (look like -) and push the reset button by the USB socket with the stylus), this will wipe all your information on the phone and restore it to the way it was when you first had it.
A ROM upgrade wouldn't hurt but be wary that this may void your warranty if there is a problem with your phone. I recommend the 1.35 ROM, download it now as they wont be there much longer, this is the latest non test ROM. Read up on doing it though as there are minor risks.

Hi daedalia thank you for your reply, the BH S100 fades in and out while the music is playing and it skips, when I try to use it with skype the audio starts and stops. But when I use the headset that came with the Tytn the unit works ok

Both Skype and BT Audio are processor hungry so I can understand that but should pose no issues with the Hermes, maybe worth doing a forum search on that as I have no experience with Skype.
As for the skipping try the below & let me know how you get on:

I've always had one small problem with TouchFLO 3D's music player: if you're listening to music with the earphones plugged in, and you accidentally pull the plug out, it starts blaring your music over the speaker! This can be very embarrassing if you're out in public and all of a sudden, everyone around you can hear your music.
I spent a long time searching for an answer to this problem, and I've never had any success. So finally, I decided to take matters into my own hands and create HeadsetMonitor.
HeadsetMonitor is a lightweight application that hides in the background and monitors the status of your headset. If the TF3D music player is playing when you unplug the headset (generally by accident), it will spring into action and instantly pause your music to prevent it from blaring over the speaker. Once you plug the headset back in, it will automatically resume playing your music. Additionally, if you want it to play over the speaker anyway, simply hit the play button and it will continue to function as usual.
HeadsetMonitor does not affect battery life. HeadsetMonitor only consumes a miniscule amount of CPU power for a fraction of a second when you plug or unplug the headset. It will automatically run on start-up and connect to the HTC Audio Manager program as soon as it becomes available (usually when you first go to the Music tab). It remains completely idle in the background until the headset is plugged or unplugged, using no resources except for a few KB of memory.
Installation instructions:
HeadsetMonitor only works if you are using TouchFLO 3D. It currently does not pause any other media player automatically. I developed and tested this program on the CDMA version of the HTC Touch Diamond, and can't guarantee that it will work on every phone.
It requires version 3.5 of the .NET Compact Framework, which should already be on your phone in most ROMs. Simply run the CAB file on your phone to install, and then either soft reset or browse to the application folder and launch the EXE manually. If all goes well, you can begin using it immediately.
great job- gonna use it
tried it and got an exception error. I am using the Touch Pro 2 version of TF3D

Do you happen to know what exception? Also, can you check the exact name of the AudioManager EXE in a task manager, please? I haven't tried the TP2 version of TF3D, so it might have a slightly different name or something.
Thanks!
My apologies. I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it to give it a second shot and it worked as advertised. I apologize for not testing it again. it must have been something else conflicting. Hope this makes up for my error http://www.fuzemobility.com/remove-headset-to-pause-tf3d-music/

great idea!!!
i am going to test it now. thanks for the efforts
Sweeeet I will not have to look around me suspiciously anymore while listening to Britney in the subway
nice app, but only one problem, when i insert the headphone back, it doesn't resume the song and it goes to the first song of the playlist..

great solution for that problem - i have another one: I have a bluetooth stereo headset, and often when tf switches from having a call back to music, it shouts out at speaker instead of bt headset - that's annoying for me AND the people around me...
does your prog solve this TOO?
i.e. does your tool check if a headset is used (no matter which KIND of headset) OR does it affect the special headset like tools "FM radio" or "Equalizer" do?
thx for reply in advance (in case it does not affect your tool DIRECTLY...)

I'm not sure if it would work, as I haven't got a bluetooth headset to test it with. However, when you connect your headset to the phone, do you get the headphone icon on the top bar? If you do, and that disappears after ending the call and switching back to the music, then HeadsetMonitor should pause the music for you.

That's definitely strange. Is anyone else encountering this bug?
Could you give me some details, please? CDMA, GSM version? Touch Diamond, Touch Pro? What ROM you're using? What version of TF3D? Anything else you think might be useful. Thanks!
nice app .
maybe you can add a feature that it automatically disables the headset when there is call (incoming/outoing)?
this would be for people using normal 3,5inch headphones (no headsets) so they do not have to remove the headphones when they want to speak on the phone!

Sorry, I took a quick look and it doesn't look like it's possible to disable the headset without physically unplugging it.
Let's start:
GSM version
Latest official rom 2.03
Touch Diamond
Original TF3D
Thanks for this. It's working a treat for me on a HD2. Saves me having to install s2u2 and s2p just to get the music to pause when i unplug the headphones!
One suggestion if you're still working on this would be to get the Audio player to autoplay when the headphones are reinserted.
Brilliant app! Working perfectly on HTC Diamond (Win 6.5 / HTC Sense 2.5) using a Sony DR-BT20NX bluetooth headset.
Thank you!

This app is great! Thank you so much for creating it. This works perfectly on my CDMA Touch Pro 2! I have been looking for this fix for quite some time!
It seems like on most of the newer Android Nand and ClockworkMod builds the hard keys on the wired headset don't work. Does anybody know if there is a way to fix this? It would be great if there was an apk or a zip file that I could install to fix this, or better yet have it built into the ROM like it used to be.
If no such fix exists then does anybody know of a CWM (preferrably Desire based) build where the wired headset works?
I just tried the new CoreDroid rom and it doesnt work. Anybody using a rom where the wired headset works?
Also, I just heard back from the Revolution 2.3 rom developer and he said he would test and see what he could do. That sounds promising.
Concur - this is essentially needed for listening to music.
I hope a solution can be found
ps: on first rafdroid 1.0 revision It was working but with all new nand desire hd based ROM since 1.72 I think nothing work only voice recognizing ...
Ok, I'm pushing that thread up cause we really need headset support. I think we need to get organized to offer proper bug-reports. Like that, dev's will be more inclined to work on this.
It is indeed not possible to use the "stock" headsets with Android ROMS/NAND. It's one of the other thing that WP7 proove it was not impossible to achieve (like wake up lag or 720p recording), it just need some work. In WP7, the headset button work (and are used for increasing/decreasing the volume).
This is the behaviour I encountered with EVERY ROM (Sense, CM 6.1 and Ginger) and EVERY PLAYER I tried (Stock Android, Stock Sense, MusicMod, PlayerPro and ³) :
While the stock headset offer "Play/Answer", "Next" and "Previous" buttons, none of them work. To be more specific : they work the first time you press them for me, then that's it; that is only the NEXT button actually.
The first time I try the NEXT button it behaves as it configured in the Player used (ex : in PlayerPro, Volume Down for a quick press, Next track for a long press). The second time you press, it is no longer working.
I think (but I'm not sure) that the Play/Pause/Answer" button also work once. After that, impossible to answer a call from the headset which is A REAL problem actually. The time you reach for the HD2 in your pocket, you missed it.
I don't recall the Previous working at all.
Please, report any other behavior. And if you have tried other headsets, don't hesitate to also comment on their behavior.
It's really annoying for people who uses the HD2 as a music player.
Thanks !
My headset works for about 5 minutes and then it would crash my phone
Latest raf kernel (1.7) has the headsets working. Not super reactive at first but after a few press, it works fine.
At last !
http://www.skullcandy.com/shop/2011-50-50-green-black.html I am getting these headphones, and am Just wondering if it does or doesn't support technology. It's like what lets you control the music from your little mic thing on the headphones.
It probably depends on the rom and/or music player. I had a different pair of skull candy headphone with a button on the mic. On some roms it worked for answering calls.( I think samsung based roms but its been a while) And ive had good luck with songbird player for music controls. That pair of head phones has since broken so I cant verify.
As far as I know 2.3.x roms do not have the button working. The devs are working on it.
Not sure about 2.2 roms
Vibrant+MIUI
I can control music through my bluetooth headphones by hitting prev/forward. On 2.2 kb5.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda premium
With the stock earphones, I am able to skip and pause songs on the stock audio player. On Pandora, I am only able to pause/unpause.
I know a few gingerbread roms it didn't work, and I can't remember if any it did work(I want to say cm7 it did work), but you should be able to search those threads to see if anyone is complaining.
Otherwise, I know that any 2.1+ rom it should be working. I bought poweramp music player a long time ago, it is about to put out a huge update that will easily make it the best player. It has custom controls for the button, either click and hold or double click to switch tracks, click once to pause/play or answer/hangup a call if one comes in.
I look for this in my roms, I bought several pairs of the same headphones that came with the phone because I didn't notice skullcandy really being superior, and I lose these things like no tomorrow.
I don't think that it works with GB at all.
I KNOW it works on froyo, but i cant say specifically which ROMS.
Also it does matter what music player your using.
For example: For me... It works on the Touchwiz Musicplayer but it doesnt work on Ubermusic even though it does have the controls setting feature...
We definitately have the latest "don't get updates from Tmobile\Samsung" technology.
So i got this problem for many months now.
It does not matter which player i choose (i tried most common ones)
and the app headset blocker doesnt fix the issue.
basically the music just randomly stops or loops or just changes wildly around.
im running cm 7.1 but previous versions were the same.
is there any other fix yet? headphones are standard sennheiser inear.
sometimes it works though..but mostly not.
I had the same problem with aftermarket earphones.
Randomly music would play, pause, restart loop crash and whatever.
Took me months to figure out, this is my lifesaver now:
Disable AutoPlay will disable your Media Button Inputs from your headset remote control. This will avoid your phone from starting the media player if you connect normal headphones.
warning: if media button is disabled you will not be able to accept calls with your headset remote control.
You can download it from the market, its free.'
Search for Disable Autoplay.
Well since i dont even have a headset that wont matter... ill try that, i couldnt reproduce the bug now but ill see if it gos away now..thanks anyway
So this happens when you wear headphones (are standard sennheiser inear) or random running musicplayer?? .
So i could test it today and it didnt fix the issue.
it happens when i hear music via headphones with any music player.
( for example winamp playerpro stock player etc...)
any other ideas?
From posts that i read, the number of circles on the ear phones Jack can cause the skips.
Im using a skull candy earphone and its working fine. The headset blocker is taking in effect. Music does not skipping/pause/replay anymore. Im running on absolutionv3.7 based on cm7. Oh yeah, I'm using stock music player.
But headset blocker does not work on sense roms. T.T I wish it worked on sense roms. Also, stock music player on sense rom.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA App
ell now i went into some famous german media shop and looked around if there were any headphones that around complete garbage and work with htc phones specifically, but of course no luck. and since all the other headphones have the exact same connector i dont think it will change a thing.
i still onder if it could be cm7?
well i read same issues from stock rom users. and it as the same with cm6.
and i now learned that those are the only headphones with that connector that i own :l
can you recommend me another good rom to try?
must have is (which was the initial reason i use cm) a fixed bluetooth stack. stock rom doesnt allow me to use my wiimote (and afaik all sense roms have that issue)
a kernel that lets me oc to at least 1,5 gh and an overall slim look and feel. hate that rubbish sense stuff.
@kakihara - What kernel are you using? I had massive music skips when used default cm kernel, but when I changed to LordClockan BFS kernel, all music skips were gone, and I can fully enjoy music listening no matter what player I choose.
@Desire HD & CyanogenMod
I too had a similar issue after I flashed CM7 & 7.1. Also had this issue with an ICS ROM (I forget which one). I am interested to see the cause and any fixes. I gave up and went back to my trusty RCMix3D V4.0 ROM.
I actually sent my phone to repair when i first discovered this issue, but they couldn't determine anything wrong with my phone. When i installed headset blocket, it thankfully worked(from time to time). But my final solution is that i'm going to buy a pair of Klipsch Image S4a(Android Controls), since i'm in need of some new earbuds anyway. I hope it solves the issue.
