Someone here with working fm-app in .32 Miui? Looks like my favorite Os are Miui with 32 kernel. Think I'll stay there.
The only thing missing is FM Radio, we all know it's there, but how do we get it to work?
In dzo's Aurora and MosTERRA's Elite SX there are fm-radio adequate for a daily usage.
I'm not an android developer, but still, I've Decoded this app. I had a look to the AndroidManifest.xml file and noticed that android:targetSdkVersion="15" meaning android 4. Still is the android:minSdkVersion="5".
Why does it not working?
Someone here who will help me converting the aurora's radio app to 2.3 (.32 kernel)?
Current FmRadio.apk and AndroidManifest.xml :
Do we have to use ICS for using fmradio?

I have recently been using Android NAND builds on my HD2, in particular the RCMix3D build that I have found particularly to my liking.
However, I have also bought an Motorola Xoom WiFi and wanted to use this with the HD2 WiFi hotspot. I now find that this will not work at all on gingerbread build based Roms .
If I need to downgrade to a Froyo Rom can anyone recommend a good one. Most of those available seem to be falling into disuse.
I would like a Sense Rom, and one that is stable for everyday use, no fancy tweaks. Just want a phone that works.
Or would I be better going back to a Win6.5 setup with an Android SD based Rom?
Many thanks for any guidance you can give.
I'm using MIUI 2.1.20 from miuiandroid.com which is based on GB 2. 3. 7, and dorimanx 3.9 kernel. With this combination I can use the hd2 WiFi hotspot function perfectly.
Other MIUI builds have this functionality too I believe.
I used to use a sense Rom and had to use a 3rd party app to enable WiFi hotspot, it didn't function natively.
Peace

Hi friends, I searched some foruns with information: How Can I do Root + CWM Recovery on GT-I9000B, but I found only old methods.
Can anyone help me by sending a complete "step-by-step" on how to do this?
After that, someone recommends a specific rom that is stable?
Thanks
Sorry for bad english!
Nobody help me?
Im in the same problem.
It depends on which version of android you are using. I'm using Gingerbread, so the option I use is Mafalda 0.9.4 kernel. It WAS a great Kernel,. but I think it's a bit old since there are several new versions of android since the kernel was made (It's based on Android GB 2.3.3... now we are on 2.3.6)
Another option is talon kernel but it's even older...
For ICS you can use official version from google (the one that uses the ICSSGS 4.2 mod) or the much better Semaphore kernel ported by f4k for our Galaxy S I9000B.
Anyway, I'm at GB 2.3.6, so if you know about any UPDATED KERNEL please notify me.
Good luck!

FM radio works fine on Aurora ICS by dzo. The app comes with the rom.
For other roms there is spiritFM that works without volume control.
Search this subforum for threads where FM has been discussed on U8800:

I see, sorry then.
Maybe you should add [U8800 PRO] on the title to avoid such confusion.

I wrote U+ but i will change it!! ^_^
I've been trying to compile roms for a week now and the last few days I had succes with building CM9 from source and AOKP from source. Those are not that hard to build and it didn't take that long. To build these roms from source was a very good practice and helps me to go into further rom building.
But from the beginning my goal was to build a rom using the Google AOSP source. As I know that's not as easy as building something like CM9 but it is possible right? But it is possible as far as I know.
What I tried to do was to sync with the stock Android repo and synced the CM9 device tree and kernel etc but it didn't worked as I don't know what to edit and what I exactly need to build a working rom.
So what I want to know is: How do I build a working ROM from the stock Android ICS source? And what do I need to edit and to download (what sources etc)?
I don't need every step full described, but can anyone explain me all the steps what (files/repo's) I need and what files I need to edit to compile a full working ROM. Or isn't it that simple?
Last month some guy (stormtroopercs or something like that) said he will post a tutorial but I didn't see anything from him and the topic from that guy is dead.
Thank you very much for your help!
(My working space is fully setup so I don't need to know how to setup a building enviroment!)
which is the best AOSP rom for galaxy s2?

I am also looking for the same..

[ROM][AOSP][JB][4.1.1] SuperNexus - I9100
I am using this ROM and its very stable so far except common known issues.
The material themed twrp (i think it is 2.8.7.1) that I'm using has the option to change your partition file systems, and I seem to recall f2fs being better than the standard file system, but I don't know if miui supports it. If it doesn't, are there any miui based roms out there with this capability?

No, MIUI official ROM doesn't support this partition type even you format it to f2fs flashing miui will format it again to ext4. There is no miui based rom out there cause it is too slow and has a lot of bloatware in it. Always use CM and AOSP based ROM if you are a Chinese. Friendly reminder never use MIUI on a 1gb RAM device.:highfive:
Ah, ok thanks. I like the theming feature of miui so I'm using smiui, which I hope is a little better. Wish it was a bit less debloated, but I was getting tired of the plain look of cm and aosp.
If certain cm or aosp based roms had better performance over smiui, I might use them.
if you like MIUI, use MIUI based rom (based on china developer rom), such as xiaomi eu, miui pro, miui hellas, sMiui, MIUI polska.
same feature and stability, all sensors working flawlessly, also the most important battery backup is also good as miui.
but with minor tweaking that will perform better than miui original rom
